    Ryan the manor house is amazing. If you stepped outside of your comfort zone and took on an amazing project like that one you would never run out of things to film and your subscriber numbers would go way up. Take a chance you have many skilled or experienced people around you to get help/ advice from.

    I love your videos about properties. I know we can go on and look for ourselves, which I have done already, but it's your commentary and inside information about certain areas that is what I'm after. I may never get to buy a property in France but I can dream and think and plan and have fun with it. Hope you are feeling better today about the car incident. Life is too short to let little things get you down for too long.

    Hi Ryan, I like the townhouse for $35,000 Euros!! It might be good to get something without a mortgage, live there for a while fix it up a bit and sell it in a few years for more money to buy your dream property. Just a thought, but thank you for showing us the site. xx

    Omg 😱 they are amazing ….
    Here in New Zealand You can’t buy a empty section in our little town for under $310.000 .. my house government valuation is worth $480.000 … could probably sell it for $580.000 but couldn’t afford to buy another one similar

    • @karenreeves856
      @karenreeves856 Рік тому

      @Gaelene Cole Yes the house and land prices have got well out of hand here in New Zealand haven't they? Crazy prices go with crazy rates as well! The very cheapest property in the tiny village I live in is well over $400,00 NZ, and it needs a huge amount of work doing on it to comply with current council regulations. I wouldn't sell my property if I was literally paid to! Like you, I could never replace it.

      @@karenreeves856 oh yeah…. I’m in Waitara …
      it’s most definitely a rates collecting revenue for the council/government
      My home is worth less than my section go figure . Where last valuation it was way above the land value… it’s cause they can’t collect revenue from the dwellings but they can the land 😡 my rates in 18 years have gone from $990.00 to $ 2,688.00 they going up again long with my power and internet they definitely want us poor ☹️
      You will own nothing and still be happy 🤨

    • @karenreeves856
      @karenreeves856 Рік тому

      @@gaelenecole4053 yep, me too! I've been here (Far North) for 37 years, and in that time my rates have gone up 2000 %😡, and I still live on an unsealed road, with no rubbish collection, but pay for it in my rates. My house is 136 years old, and can't be replaced for love nor money, because it's made of Kauri inside and out. It'd cost over a million to replace! I won't play their games, I'm getting as self-sufficient as I can, aiming to get off grid. I will own my home and I will be happy!! 😉☺

    Hi Ryan, your passion & exuberance when you show properties is so evident so maybe
    you should think about doing this to make some $$$.
    You do it so well and you don't seem to have the hesitation you sometimes say or show you have with other things. It doesn't matter what properties; large or small is great, you just nail it❣️

  • @hmeyers5114

    Love your outlook, Ryan! It always amazes me that people pass up structurally sound, affordable homes because they need some paint and bad carpet removed! Cosmetic issues take a bit of sweat equity, but the homes are affordable, safe and habitable. Homeowners *should* know how to paint, mow, weed, caulk, and maintain floors. If people want everything already done for them they need to pay new home prices. Of course, they will then have to pay others to maintain their homes. If they can afford to keep moving every time something needs to be done on their home they will pay a fortune. Those people are better off renting. 😂

I had a browse through Leboncoin a few months ago, (I saw you browse on a previous vlog) and found some amazing properties, I actually wanted to move forward with one, BUT you need to have an account to contact the vendor, which requires a French associated contact no, coming from the UK I could not create an account for love nor money, so its lovely to browse, but from the UK it seems to only reach as far as a daydream :(

    Let's go. Visiting these would make a nice follow up video. And even if you are not ready to buy right now, the more you look at will help you narrow down what it is you really want to buy. I am not entrely sure what your ultimate plan is. Some thing to restore, or just remodel, do seem to like the more modern look, but then as like the old world stuff as well. I do think the smart thing to do would buy a place that is live-able, even if it needs, work because of the savings in time and money for just the travel to and from and it would give you your own space. Something else to keep in mind, (I am speaking as a child of a older parent,) no matter what or where you choose, you will be having to help your parents. Another thing I have wondered about some of the town houses is the parking.

    Hey Ryan! Interesting video! Just wanted to say though ... that house (I think it was €34,000), which you said it makes you think why bother with the bank & why not just go in & get it ... from what little bit I know, people can sometimes price their properties way below market value in order to get people's interest and start a bidding war. Which, in turn, would drive the final price up way north of the original asking price. So, you have to be very careful of that. Also, there could be some other reason (something wrong with the place / something that makes it less attractive to buyers, etc.), which could be the reason for a low price.

    • @hiddenhighland
      @hiddenhighland 7 місяців тому +1

      The great thing about France- as soon as you offer the asking price- that's it- it is sold. The buyer cannot sell for over asking. A seller was selling a very special property, a once in a lifetime property- way waaaay under value. We visited- went back to the real estate office and offered full asking- and the property was immediately taken off the table. I still have to pinch myself! Needless to say- the flood of people trying to get in to see the property were not happy. Timing, a bit of luck- and being a hawk on what comes up on market is key. We were looking to find a place in this special place for 5 years!

How close other houses and buildings are to the house. All the things you can't see on a real estate web sight.

    Whatever you like the look of in a house please pay for a building inspection before you buy. Please get a lawyer to check the house will be owned by you free on clear and there are no legal reasons for the sale. Make sure as well you have the house surveyed so you know exactly what land you will own. I’m an old lady and have seen people that haven’t done all of the checks and have got themselves into a world of trouble. It was very interesting to see all of them. Buyer beware. Good to take a look at Google Earth and see what else is going on in town near a property. Also, not a bad idea to check with local Department of Commerce for what’s going on in that town business-wise. See who else is buying in that town. If they’re bringing a factory in and it’s going to pollute the area, that’s going to drive prices and values down. It’ll look good initially, but not be good in the long run.

    cost of a house is not an issue location neighborhood and cost of refurbishment is important . Unfortunately most cheap houses can not even be refurbished they cost too much 1 re do roof 2 take out every thing 3 realise its got rot and all wood is damp .Also many old hoses can not be brought up to standard as the are not built to modern codes cheap but uncomfortable and you are living for years with a skip outside and inside!!!!!!!!!

There were no interior photos and that pond in front was shown filled with water. I would be interested in this place, if I could find it again.
