This was a wonderful pattern and you did a great job explaining it. I made 5 of them. They will happily be hanging on my wall for fall and Thanksgiving. Thank you for sharing.
Just to help out my fellow crafter, when you get to 21:30 the video speeds up. To follow along at regular speed rewind to 10:25 when she starts the pattern for the side leaf. It is an exact repeat. When you get to 20:35 again, stop and jump to 26:40 to finish
Ive seen a few people show how to do this pattern and this is the first video that was actually understandable and easy to follow, thank you so much for making
OMG I love your patterns and the tutorial helped a lot with the maple leaf . I thought it was all crooked and wrong until I watched video . Gotta trust the patterns . : >
HUMMING BIRD....I totally thought the same thing. But I also thought when doing the rows, they were sure to be even on both sides. So I frogged my project numerous times before I saw the video and realized I was doing it right the entire time. Funny part is like my sister told me, nothing is made perfect in nature either so it is perfect to her. 😁
Thank you so very much for sharing this with us. I absolutely love your videos, as they are so helpful and easy to follow. I am a self taught crocheter and through videos like yours I'm still learning new and more challenging things. Yet your video made it so easy for me to make a fall wreath for my sister. Thank you so much!!! Also I did want to ask, is this a pattern you could possibly do in other types of stitches such as half double crochet or even a double crochet?
Thank you, Angel! I'm so glad to hear my tutorial was helpful to you. I can only imagine how pretty your fall wreath turned out. You could try other stitches, I have never tried with this pattern, and not sure how it would look because Irish crochet like this one uses just single crochet stitches. But you can always experiment. Happy crocheting!
Thank you! My small orange leaf is about 4.5 in wide and 5.5 in long when I stretch out the stem. My bigger green leaf is about 6 in wide and 6.5 in long (with stretched out stem).
Hi Amber, it could look a little different with worsted weight yarn but I would give it a try. Maybe use smaller size hook to make it more tight. Just a thought! 🙂
Hello, I'm currently working on the larger leaf and after row 10 I have 9 SCs. In row 11 the pattern tells me to skip one stitch and crochet 10, but how is that possible if you only have 9? I'm kinda confused, I might be missing something, pls help 😵
Hi Laura! You are very welcome! I started my new website and added the written pattern here: handmadebyraine.com/how-to-crochet-maple-leaf/ I hope you like it!
Is it the same pattern just bigger? I am trying to make a fairly large maple leaf to go on a Canadian flag blanket, and am wondering how to modify this pattern to make it big enough for this purpose.
Hiya, thank you for sharing. I am bit confussed as when you do 14 on the opposite side you then say skip one and sc 14 in back looks, but where you have skipped one wouldn't it be 13? Thank you
My only issue is that I wish you would show what the leaf looks like throughout the process. And speeding the video without saying we can go back at 10:25 is a big disappointment
Really pretty leaf but you are very hard to follow because you aren't consistent with your instructions. I managed to follow along, and as I understood the pattern, it got easier to follow you.
Thank you for your feedback! This was one of my earliest videos when I had just started my UA-cam channel. My tutorials have definitely improved since then. The written pattern and PDF pattern are added for extra help, and they are all supposed to complement each other. Thank you for your understanding.
Love your finished leaf but I found it very difficult to follow, rewound a few time and frogged but nope it wasn’t happening for me. The second leaf lack of instructions was my final attempt! Also the camera would be much more beneficial more on to where you are working, you’ve wasted a lot of demonstration area. I kept trying to zoom in to see what the part you are working on looks like but couldn’t see further down as it’s off screen. Beautiful leaf though you made x
I meant to speed up the video at that point because it's just a repetition of the first side. I realize my voice sounds funny 😃 and I should have muted the sound. It was one of my first videos and I have learned a lot since, so hopefully this is a little excuse for the hiccup.
Great video but a bit too fast more nearest the end of your video but if you could slow it down that would be great for someone to learn from you because you're good at the beginning but half referral it's a bit too fast near the end to fast thank you

The leaves look great! May I know what sizes both leaves are (green and orange leaves), please?
Thank you! My small orange leaf is about 4.5 in wide and 5.5 in long when I stretch out the stem. My bigger green leaf is about 6 in wide and 6.5 in long (with stretched out stem).
Дякую, у мене вийшов гарненький 🍁

treestate thank you! I'm glad you like them.
Could this be made with worsted weight yarn and still have the same look as the small thread
Hi Amber, it could look a little different with worsted weight yarn but I would give it a try. Maybe use smaller size hook to make it more tight. Just a thought! 🙂

You start round 10 with 5ch and sc in 3rd, 4th and 5th ch from hook - that is 3sc, plus 8sc, total 11sc.
@@handmadebyraine I see! Tysm for the explanation!
Amazing
Thank you!
Fabuloso
Fabuloso extraordinary!!!!
Thank you!
What if you use larger yarn and crochet hook?
Yes, why not.
Ok it's me again I can see it now I will start again
Great job thanks
Thank you too!
Thanks 😍❤😘
You're welcome 😊
Hiii! I'm a beginner and may I ask what do you call the specific yarn that you used in making these maple leaves?
Hi, I used Lizbeth and Aunt Lydia's crochet thread size 3.
Lindo trabalho❤
Thank you!
What is your blog Raine? I am very interested in trying the bigger leaf! Thank you for the video!

If you watch the video, it's there. Crochet thread size 3 and hook size 2.25 mm.
nice creation mam
Thank you!
I get lost when you start the other side of the leaf and the video appears to speed up.
Hopefully the written pattern helps: handmadebyraine.com/how-to-crochet-maple-leaf/
good
I couldn’t finish the other side cause it only fast forward and I couldn’t tell what you were doing 😢
Please see the written pattern for help: handmadebyraine.com/how-to-crochet-maple-leaf/
Really appreciate the video. Unfortunately the written instructions from your website do not match the video at all
Thank you for your feedback!
I agree. They are incorrect.
thanks a lot
nazanin fariba you are most welcome :)
My only issue is that I wish you would show what the leaf looks like throughout the process. And speeding the video without saying we can go back at 10:25 is a big disappointment
Sorry to hear this is not helpful to you.
Where is the larger leaf pattern ?
I'm working on making the tutorial of larger leaf. Stay tuned!
wow
Thank you!
I got lost trying to to follow other side. 😣
Sorry to hear..

Oh dear, something seems to have gone wrong with the video at 2130, voice sped up and no instructions.
I meant to speed up the video at that point because it's just a repetition of the first side. I realize my voice sounds funny 😃 and I should have muted the sound. It was one of my first videos and I have learned a lot since, so hopefully this is a little excuse for the hiccup.

Thanks, unfortunately I'm not able to change the video but you can use the pause button to finish each step.
ترجمه بلعربي اذا كان ممكن
Your work is good. But to tell you tge trueth your insyructions is not really good and is too fast.
Thank you for your feedback!
Tutorial italiano ?
U lost me! U should show the rows at the end AT LEAST ! I tried to see what u were doing but the video doesn't show it very well!
Sorry to hear the tutorial is not helpful to you.
@@handmadebyraine I got the big one made. I made mistakes, but I got it finished at least, mistakes and all
