I want to point out that this isn't the first device that has this concept, the gpd win 3 and the win 4 both have this same function but made much earlier. However I think that the slide does a few things better such as price, the sticks, and the ui. But the manual switch from controler to mouse on the gpd consles are un beatable
As a Chinese manufacturer, Ayaneo (and all other non-first party handheld manufacturers) have an uphill battle to earn my money. It's hard to invest in a company and/or platform that, for all I know, will stop producing units in the next 3 years. At $500+, why not wait for a native Xbox handheld? Or go with a more trusted manufacturer's product, i.e. Steamdeck, ROG Ally, etc. If they could get the price point down to $300-400, I think they'd have a compelling product. But right now, it's just too expensive for what it is.
Yea it’s fair that these companies could go anywhere but luckily AYANEO specifically has been around for a bit now! I wonder if Microsoft or Sony would look at a lower cost x86 - unless they lock it down a bit they probably don’t stand to sell it at a loss like they do with their consoles. Thanks for watching!
Asus releases new models almost yearly too, so not sure why they'd be any better. The only device so far that vaguely is following a 'console' release cycle is the steam deck, which has been around for a while now as a device.
First time using full sensing hall triggers? Dont the ayaneo 2s have them as well? Also whats your opinion on the joys sticks, really wish they had the full joysticks for fps games. Thats my only complaint, might have to switch to my 2s later on
Huh! Yea I made a mistake. Not sure where I got that info from. My bad! I like the joysticks here. Even though they’re switch-style, they have an alright range of motion. Probably not the best for FPS multiplayer games though. But for the form factor I think it’s a worthy compromise. Thanks for watching!
That’s fair! Especially if you only use it from time to time. I’ve really liked when I’m not expecting to need a keyboard it’s right there for me! Thanks for watching!
Yea an unfortunate miss. I do usually just use Bluetooth headphones on these devices but it’s always nice to be able to plug in some nice headphones as an option. Thanks for watching! 😊

I'd rather use a compact BT keyboard.
