Hello. I have changed the motor brushes and now the washing machine is working fine. Thank you so much for your help. There is something else that I would like help with. So far I have changed the belt as it slipped and was super old. Then I saw that the shock absorbers need changing which I did. Looking at the back of the machine while it is spinning I can see a lot of drum movement (to me it looks way too much. Should I change the suspension springs as well? The washing machine is around 10 years old now

Hi mate just watched the video, cheers, I have indesit EWE 91482 trips the electric around 2-3 mins into a wash but has completed a rinse do you think it’s the element? Also had it where the timer didn’t go down just stayed on 9 mins on rinse but has since completed a rinse, cheers
Hey Chris. It does sound like it is the element as the rinse cycle is a non heating programme so that explains it finishing. What you could try is… plug out the machine. Remove the back panel, there in front of you to the left of the motor is the element. You will see 4 wires entering it. Disconnect these and tape them up with insulation tape. Try the machine again on a temperature wash. Obviously the water won’t heat but if the machine doesn’t trip you will know the element is the issue 👍

She complained about a noise coming from the machine and paused the program. When I got home and wanted to start it nothing happens. It puts water inside and then there are some clicks. I have a Indesit PWE 91672W tried doing a wash today, powers on LCD screen and lights show, than about 5 seconds it trips the RCD. Tried turning on again powers on for about 5 seconds than trips the RCD again. Does this sound like it's the power surpressor even though it powers on for about 5 seconds before it trips?
I drained it and opened the door, powered on and it stays on, as soon as I close the door it trips the RCD again. Would this mean something wrong with the lock on the door?
Hey. It does sound like the door lock. It is also possible the wiring has burnt out. I will send you a link to a video I have up and you can check is yours the same problem 👍

Had a look at supressors on eBay, their dont seem to be any for my model. Are Indesits Power Surpressors interchangeable?
@@TheHDChannelx Hi, Yes they are interchangeable. I’m not sure for definite it’s the suppressor, it could also be the pcb. But might be worth taking a chance on the suppressor and see does it sort it with them not being too expensive.
Hi Seamus, I honestly don’t know a single thing about dishwashers, I only do Washers and Dryers- What I would say is if you have a lot of Appliances on at the same time,or if it is plugged into an extension lead they can tend to get really hot. What you could do is cut off the plug and wire On a new plug and see does that improve it. Make sure you have a 13 amp fuse in it.
Great video. Can I ask how you knew it was the suppressor? I have same problem, but when I disconnected the suppressor internally , then plugged in, it didn't trip all power. So, I presumed it then couldn't be the suppressor - but could it be? How did you come to your conclusion?
Hey Harry. I basically ruled everything out until it had to have been it. Disconnected plug from the motor plugged the machine in again. Tripped. Disconnected the element. Plugged back in. Tripped. Tried a different pcb. Still tripped. Tried a new suppressor and Bingo. Fault found.
My Hotpoint machine trips after 2 mins, this on a 30 mins wash, wen I wash the dishes I have spilt water there I took the lid off left it 3 weeks and it was fine now doing the same works fine on 10 min spin water out

my suppressor just burnt out, the wires even burnt and came away from the suppressor, looks like it has been burning for some time. Hey Paul. Unfortunately it could be a few things, most likely the suppressor or possibly the PCB. I would change the suppressor as they are relatively cheap. If that doesn’t work you will be looking at a replacement PCB I’m afraid.
Hi Gina. It really could be anything from a blocked filter to brushes being gone to it being a PCB/Motor/Element failure. Check the filter first (bottom right corner as you look at the machine) behind the kick strip. have towels ready as there will be water) open anti clockwise and make sure nothing is stuck in there also. Power off the machine first.
I have this washing machine its hit and miss when it tripps the power, usually every 1 in 3 washes. I have had an electrition check the socket and the socket is fine. Hey, I would check the brushes on the motor first to see are they worn down. Sometimes they wear down so much that the copper holder becomes exposed. Maybe check that first. How long have you the machine ?

I thought my Indesit washing machine was suffering from the same issue, but after un- and re-plugging the machine several times, all of a sudden it no longer trips the breaker and the display lights turn back on. However, it doesn’t pump, spin or heat anymore. Is that also an expected symptom of a faulty suppressor? Otherwise, my guess would be a fault related to the relays switching on the high power elements, or control of those relays.

When you close the door and start a programme can you hear the foot locking ? If the door locks does it start to leave in water, if it leaves water is that where the progress stops ?
@@washingmachinetipsandhelp4350 The door does lock. I can hear it, and see it on the display. But where I used to hear the water flowing in, the machine now remains silent. After a while, you'd expect the drum to start moving, but that doesn't happen either.

Hi, my indesit washing machine shows no lights and doesn't function. The socket it OK, the plug fuse is OK, the power filter has 230v on the output. When the machine is plugged back in it turns on for 1 second then the lights go off again. Please could I have some advice?
Hi There. Is it tripping Power ? - To be honest it sounds like the PCB could be gone (Bottom left corner at the back) as you look at the Machine from the rear. You could take this out and check is there any components on it blown/Damaged.
@@washingmachinetipsandhelp4350 Mains power doesn't trip. I've looked at the PCB and visually OK, no swollen caps or burning. Thinking of just replacing the filter just incase

If no success with that I’d still be thinking the PCB something could be blown internally on one of the components. I sometimes purchase 2nd hand pcb boards on EBay for approx €35 £30 approx. If you do go down the route of the pcb make sure it looks the same as the one you have. Sometimes even with the same model number the wiring can be different 👍
Hi. My machine trips all sockets when i try to start a load. So i unplug it, and as soon as i plug it back in it trips the sockets again. I removed the earth from the suppressor and it let me plug it in and power it on, but again trips as soon as i press start. Any ideas?
Hey. What you could try is rule things out. First of all disconnect the wire block and earth going to your motor and try pressing start again. See does the machine lock and try to start. If the same thing happens reconnect the motor again and this time go to the back of the machine, remove the back panel and there you will see the element (above Motor and to the left) disconnect and tape ends of wire and try again. If it still trips you are left with either the suppressor or PCB. The suppressor is relatively cheap and maybe be your first option to change should the above suggestions not help. Let me know how you go 👍

Hi Jim. The hotpoint and Indesit suppressors tend to be all one unit, so if you suspect this is the problem you will have to replace all of the unit. Thanks

@@DavetheMonster from watching the video it looks like it is a sealed drum. Unfortunately you would need to buy and fit the complete Drum. It is safe to keep using, eventually the belt will come off or the drum will start rubbing off the door rubber causing a burning rubber smell. At that stage I’d stop using it. Sorry it’s not better news, especially after you putting so much work into it.

I have a indesit dishwasher the plug top gets very hot it’s one of those moulded plug tops any ideas why this happens

Hi. This doesn’t sound too good. If you try another appliance on the same socket ie, a kettle or a hairdryer does the socket work as normal?
