I had brain surgery at 21 and ended up with a right visual cut. I managed to do everything again, very slowly, but still managed to get myself back on track. Thanks for these videos its nice seeing tips on how to make life easier with a visual cut.

I also had brain surgery at 22 and have right vision loss in each eye. Im having a really hard time dealing with losing the ability to drive. I was always the driver and now I'm the one being driven.

Having hynonmous heminopia has made life certainly so much more difficult. Mine is to the left, from a TBI to the temporal and parietal lobe. Not being able to drive in the state Im in has prevented me from living a full life. Rather limited to the area Im in, thankfully I have bus stops near by and I live in the center of a affluent college town. I have a cane, I use if Im in a crowwded area to just let people know something isnt right with viaion and to give me space.

On the U.S. I was offered no therapy after my ischemic occipital lobe stroke that took all of my vision on the left side of both eyes. Within 7 months I had regained about a 1/4 of my vision in both.

Im from the US too. I have right side HH due to left sided temporal stroke. I read there are studies that CoQ10 is a supplement that helps those with HH, has it helped you?

@@osbeidymelchor6064 I have not tried it but I just had a field vision test (in two months it will be four years since my stroke) I am now missing less than a 1/4 of my vision in both eyes so I have continued to improve. I pray that you improve too!

@@womeehagemann that sounds amazing for you! Thank you for the prayer, I hope we can both stay safe and sound as we recover from the strokes we had!

Sounds exactly like what happened with me in November, 2016. I was an attorney. Reading has improved greatly but my short term memory got slammed. I miss my job, driving and contributing to my community as before.

Going to hospital is useless, going to the RIGHT hospital is the key. My dad wasn’t treated properly at the hospital when he had TIAs. Then he had a stroke within a couple of days. He may have visual field loss now. The therapist didn’t tell me the medical terms, but just describe some symptoms. I suspect that he has hemianopia from reading articles and watching videos like this. Can you suggest some ways to help him? He is 3.5 weeks after stroke now.

Hi Helen, we're so sorry to hear about you and your Dad's experience - it sounds like it's been understandably very difficult for both of you. While we need to mention that we're not a medical organisation, we can absolutely give advice and support emotionally and practically, with counselling and emotional support, reading options, products, advice on benefits - and of course, general advice on eye health conditions. Call or email us to see how we can support you both on 03031239999 or at helpline@rnib.org.uk.

I suffered from tbi at 9 after I falled from my uncles house. My right part of my head was hit on the floor. after that I suffered from headache and vomiting blood. After a week I got deafness in my right ear and half blind in my right eye. Is any chance to regain my full eyesight in my right eye?
