How do you learn poses? Do you study regularly?

A lot of it, is from doing it for so long, but also knowing the look I'm going for. It's also from seeing so many portraits daily on my feed and gathering inspiration from websites like Pinterest! Is a video on posing something you'd be interested in!?

Coming from a portrait photographer's view, you definitely need to be more involved with your model and give more direction. In a lot of the video, she is just standing there or sitting there, and you're just snapping away. You need more direction and communication.

Agree with you and there's definitely a time and place for it, at least with my photos! Typically when shooting with models, I try to give less instruction because I like them to get in their flow and then instruct when I see the flow starting to fade away. When shooting with people who don't know how to model or have never modelled, I instruct a lot more. There's also times where what the model is doing, like my friend Riya in this video, is exactly the vision I was going for. A chill laid back relaxing vibe. Leaning up against walls, sitting down, nothing crazy! Also consider this video was over 30 minutes long and cut down to less than 10 minutes.
