This is 2023 not 1973. The days of wrestlers getting physical with fans/marks is over. Wrestlers can talk big on social media to marks but that is as far as it will go today. Any physical manifestation of violence by a wrestler towards a fan would lead to that wrestler being charged with assault and their wrestling career being over. JD knows this, all the podcasters know they can walk the wrestlers up to the edge of the line knowing that the wrestler will never take the bait and step over it.
It's funny how it's OK to go after a wrestler the IWC doesn't like when they do something bad until they are banned forever. But if a member of the IWC like Adam Blampied does something wrong, the same online fans start preaching tolerance and forgiveness.
The difference is that Adam took a lengthy break from everything for about 2 1/2 -- 3 years and looked happier than ever to do what he loves. No one that's somewhat well known on the Internet, takes that long of a break unless it's something they have to deal with.

I kinda had forgotten about the drama over the internet darlings show, it's one of those no one is more to blame the others. I will say as someone that has followed Brian Zane since basically the beginning of the channel, I think sometimes he doesn't choose his associates as carefully as he should.
What I will say, and this is no excuse as I have it myself, but Brian Zane is on the autism spectrum, and we do sometimes have shit judgement in character. I know a lot of autistic people, including myself, who have been taken advantage of by shitty people because we didn't see the red flags. A lot of autistic people can't read facial expressions or gauge tone, so it's hard for some to tell when others are genuine. Add onto that that he was excited to do his own thing for the first time and wanting to appease everybody(something a lot of people with autism have a tough time with because we don't want enemies, only friends) and it was a recipe for disaster. Like I said, I'm not making excuses for Brian. As an event organizer, he needed to realize those things up front and have a plan for if something like that happens. But I can understand where he is coming from as someone who is on the spectrum like myself.
I have no problem with him giving his opinions, I’m all for freedom of expression. But JD takes things just a step too far sometimes. I actually had to stop following him, because I felt too much negativity watching his videos & it started to rub off on me. He just felt a bit too toxic for my taste. I think the only other wrestling UA-camr I stopped following because of stuff like this was Dalyxman.

2. JD is someone who you would subscribe to because his baboonish ranting is entertaining at first but then you realize that his channel is all about the yelling and ranting and then a quick unsub. The main problem I have with JD is that it's Ok that he's not a fan of Alexa Bliss. People have their likes and dislikes but JD always has to take it to the next level where it is offputting. i checked out wrestling nowadays (havent watched raw since they bought wcw) and omg those women wrestlers are just terrible imo. constant screw ups, hits that are a mile away from landing, just not good. they look hot but mostly wrestle for shit from the small sample i got. it didnt make me wanna watch raw again thats for sure.

But he owned up to mistakes, made the correct choice to leave UA-cam for years, cleaned up his act, got adopted by Eric Bischoff, and returned better than ever. Yeah people can have opinions but it’s how you deliver the opinion that matters if you are gracious and tactful then yea. If you are a belligerent jerk then absolutely not. It’s unbecoming of an adult to act as such. JD of course had to make himself look like a saint in his response to Alexa and make Alexa look like a bully. The reality was his bullying kinda started the whole thing. You should never mention a women’s sexual performance in your criticism of her professional ability. I can understand why most ppl hate or dislike JD to a degree. He’s one of the few ppl in the IWC that’s brutally honest about wrestling and won’t sugarcoat anything. He has said some outrageous shit before and had some crazy takes, but one thing you can’t say about him is that he’s not honest. He’s just as, if not more passionate about wrestling as the next person. Ilbeit with some crazy takes but honest nonetheless

Yes, what he said about Alexa Bliss was messed up. But even then, he’s already apologized for it and left it at that. And to be fair, other ppl within the community has said WAY WORSE than him about other women wrestlers and male wrestlers.
