God, no wonder people do not like GM products... look how hard they made the cabin filter and the engine filter is ever worse to change. Better get some help doing a battery change and cost $$$ too. Heck a high school drop out could have come up with a better design. Just look at their competitors.. ever the suv of their competitors are much easier to service. No more GM products for me. The servicing processes on their trucks and other vehicles really SUCK!

Mine began making noise after I replaced it. Any ideas why
Debris that was sitting on top of the old filter may have fallen into your fan when changing the cabin air filter.

Why would my fan stop working after filter installation
Debris may be stuck in the fan but it is hard to know without seeing the vehicle in person.
I had a family of dead mice living in mine. The smell was terrible!
Oh no! We have changed a few with mice nests and yes it is by far the worst thing you can deal with when changing your cabin air filter.
Interesting a "dead mouse" "living" in yours LOL

I agree the could come up with a better design
It's like a 5 minute process....and you really only need to change this filter like every 15k-25k miles.
