What color you choosing??
Choosing a new Trek Emonda when it comes out.
I'll have to ask Durianrider for some frameset color advice
Obviously getting it custom painted to match the white colorway with the green flow-vis on the front.
BMC
Any it’s just stunning! I’ll never afford such a machine, but love seeing these videos knowing some hard working person will get the chance to own one.
For me its Giant for road and Specialized off road. Maybe just me but the TCR fits me like a glove and ive had quality issues with Specialized road bikes in the past. Sweet looking bike though, have to admit.
It’s a joke, you can’t pick your bar, crank length and other parts for a bike at this price point, specialised will become unstuck here
Yeah agreed that way Im not buying anymore full built bikes waste of money as the key element need to be replaced anyway also ready built bike are 20-30% more expensive then you buy same parts separately
Thanks for the video on this 2025 red!
you are welcome
Hows the fit of the rubber on the hoods? @peaktorque has loose rubber on his test?
What colors will the non S-Works frameset be?
Had the SL6 SW, have the SL7 SW. I'm sure the 8 is better, but I don't love that round top tube and little seat stays. Super Awesome bike. Maybe their setting up the New Venge.
I'm in the same boat..I had the SL6 SW tarmac, and two SL7 SW tarmacs, & now I own the new trek madone SLR gen7..I basically brought the trek madone to replace my older Venge pro..its just as fast or faster, lighter and it's alot more comfortable than my older 2020 Venge pro..we definitely want the Venge to return..it should be called the "Re-venge"...lol
@@LOGICAL-JAY Re-Vengers!! Assemble!! J.k. bad nerd joke.
@ovathere93 😆...we just like what we like..
the main thing of the feedback I get from my customers and myself from riding the sl8, 1 the weight trying to achieve a lighter build if that was the goal, the sl8 frame is a way lighter starting weight for the sl7, so that is nice. But the biggest thing everyone talks about is the bike is so much more comfortable then all the bikes out there, the sl7 the venge the sl6... while maintain that fast feel, its like its something with the seat stays and the seatpost that they took from the aethos design but they killed it, the bike is a way more comfortable to ride then any other race bike out there

*NEW SRAM "RED"* -->> the wallet bleeding begins . . . again!
SAVAGE!
I mean, those shifters, all soft and smooth and perfect and confidence inspiring in my hands, make me forget the pain. It's so damn good.
I bought a bike last year with SRAM RED for 4000 Dollar
Have you got to do a long ride on the new hoods yet? Felt them the other day for first time they are hella comf for my goofy sized hands. Hope this starts a new trend everyone copies.
I have not i only get to ride it around the parking lot, but they seem so nice
Squeeze the drop and top bar of frame - how thin is the carbon?
Guarantee you could crack it with a hand squeeze.
A light weight disc frame will always be a compromise with a flexible frame that would crack if you dropped it
not at all, I have a video coming out for this
Peak torque has reviewed the new SRAM group set it’s worth watching 👍🚴🏻 Pete
Yeah. The rubber on the hoods is dissapointing tho. All soft and bendy.
Wow ! I love this bike except the too big logo S-Works but i can live with it 😅
If you ride an S-Works you want everybody to know you ride an S-Works, even the guy seeing you 2 blocks down the road haha.
The color is sick 🔥🔥🔥 & subtle at the same time..
yea I like it, kind of looks professional from afar but looks exotic from up close
Several reviewers have said that the new lever covers are appalling quality and fit very poorly. That's a deal breaker when the asking price is so high. You can't claim to be the "premium" groupset when something so elementary is so poor. Perhaps it's time for a new material to be used rather than rubber. Perhaps carbon and secured by lugs and a screw.
Just got one of these bikes. The lever covers are exceptionally tight fitting. After reading this comment I had to go and recheck. Can’t shift it at all with normal pressure. Also if you look at this reviewer’s lever covers they look same as mine - nice and tight. I saw the review you refer to and can’t help wondering if there is something unusual going on to make them so poorly fitting. My old SL7 / SRAM red after several years has tight lever covers.
not a fan of the too weird colours Specialized has been using on the S-Works Tarmac's the past few years - looks like someone had some left over basement wall paint and wanted to use it up - best to get back to the traditional RED and leave the weird colours for the basement walls hint hint hint - those colours would STOP me from being a Tarmac tbh - I guess the colours are unique but unique is not always better
I would much rather pay for a Pinarello Dogma F if I had the money. They sorta devalued their brand by making so many of them and just giving them away thru sponsorships and whatnot. Basically every pro you know of that actually rides in the popular destinations has one of those already.
not the biggest fan of pinarellos, I have ridden a few of them, they are nice but I do not not like the look, but this is the reason for so many bike companies, people like what they like
When you start talking about bikes as if they're luxury handbags that's how you know they're overpriced as hell 🤣
Halo 😇 model. 👍
Actually, specialized don’t make that many s works bikes. So what if there are a few teams on both the men’s and women’s teams that use the bike?
@@justinbergmans36 I race a Giant Revolt on gravel, but I buy most of my equipment from my local Specialized Dealer: Pathfinder Pro tires, 3D Mirror saddle, bar tape, lube, tubeless tape and sealant… stuff like that. I’ve been in there about five times this year, and they cannot keep an S-Works SL-8 in stock. They sell every one they get in. Never goes out on the floor.
I've heard there is a special edition Sram Red SL8 coming...maybe a color way thing. Not sure.
its out already its the light blue one on specialized.com
Hey Grant….speaking of the bar tape, I know you have a new favor bar tape now and I’ve been meaning to ask you what the name is ? Thx GC
it is burgh!!!! you are welcome
2024 Factor ostro vam , with full dura ace di2 12 speed! For $10,500 is 100 times better road bike, than the shit works!
Not true, it’s a top bike but if I want a bike with a better value I would chose a Van Rysel or a Canyon which are very similar in terms of performance and 6k less expensive.
Have seen a few in person on group rides. Still think it’s ugly
I love it. Looks black from afar but some nice character up close
@@GCPerformance18I like the color, it’s just the design of the frame that doesn’t do it for me. Very big front end very skinny rear end. I think the SuperSix looks a bit more balanced if you’re after that kind of bike.
And yes, Superkaz isn't very super anymore. I'm going to go back to Arundel.
yea its wild to me
I think the $500 increase is because you get the new Karoo with the group set.
not with this bike, only the limited edition blue model
Rideon TPU tubes. They're the same price as buytl tubes and obviously weigh way, way less.
yea they would be such a lighter bike
what's the size of the front rotor?
160mm
Specialized usually spec disc brake road bikes 160 mm front and 140 mm rear.
The SL8 is more comfortable than the SL6? Comfort was the reason for me not to switch from the SL6 to the SL7….. But would be a reason perhaps to check the non SWorks version of the SL8
If you live in an area where high winds are the norm why would you want a super light weight bike?
Where is the 15k . Group set 3k, frame 4k, wheels 2k. That’s 9k so what cost is the other 6k ?
I mean if those are what youi think the value is for those parts but they all have a retail value like it or not, even thought it might not add up
5500 frame
4600 group
2800 wheels
450 saddle
600 handlebar
200 tires
that comes out to about 14150 plus tubes and bar tape and mount and stuff.....
@@GCPerformance18 frame is made by tommy tang , worth £300
The color is terrible! White, black or the red from the current SL8. Or ready to paint with just clear. But thats me. Amazing bike other than that.
Going custom paint with my SL8 once the so called British summer time is over. Also CLX III due for release in June
My favourite colour at the moment and the silver of the SRAM really pops. Kind of a mix of 'traditional' colour and 'silvered' components, with cutting edge modern silhouette, Niceeeeeeeeeeeeee :) Peak Performance noted that the hoods might get a bit 'floppy' in hot weather. Have you noticed this as an issue?
Hi
hello
"2025" is really jumping the gun isn't it.
lmao I said it in the video, this bike is listed as 2025 in the dealer catalouge
i do not like the looks of the new sram levers.
That colour is not my cup of tea 🫖!
wa? cup of tea?
Stop the 🧢
zias ahh comment
The cranks and brake levers of the new Sram Red are so ugly.
to me i love the looks of new sram
Signori state facendo la guerra del peso ma se non hai le gambe non vai da nessuna parte.
Boring color. It’s a light bike with no character.
A lot of people want a dark color bike that isn’t flashy. It’s like a 50/50 split when I have a customer looking for a bike
@@GCPerformance18 Got it, I guess it’s what the customer wants. Best sl8 colorway is the team Sdworks color scheme imo
