Its very common for the parents of dead animals to consume their young in the event of their deaths. Humans are the anomaly in the natural world who bury their dead. Most animals will make the choice to add the nutrients to their diet rather than let it rot.

When you find a perfect house then you realize it’s in a bad neighborhood.
@Brianna Sharon That's nonsense. You don't need to be "born wealthy" to be able to move into another place. Such victim mentality just makes you apathetic and passive. I'm currently unemployed, have been employed and unemployed during the years - lucks turns and turns again, and I and life go on. And during all that time, I have been living in multiple different places, in better and worse neighborhoods. Once I'll get a job again I'll also move again.
In the future I plan to live in the countryside, where it's cheaper anyway. To achieve that goal I'm right now getting a new education, which isn't easy or fun, and has to be planned around where I get the money. One has to make something with their life and chase their dreams, even if they were more modest ones such as mine, not waste their time being jealous of others and feeling helpless.
Yeah !!!!! It’s true. You have no idea what’s wild life is all about too.

Goes to show that we need more tress for these birds/owls/squirrels to have a nests, they are competing against limited tress and the less tress, the less offspring they can reproduce.
I never thought of it that way
Shortage of trees with suitable nest holes. Either put up appropriate nest boxes or get a bag of holes.
Then buy more paper and more lumber if you want more trees. The lumber and paper mills replant and regrow forest and if their is no more money coming in, no more forest to be replanted and regrown. Their are more trees here than before the colonist arrived.
Make or buy nestboxes and put them into the trees around where you live.

Losing...
*Losing. Loose is what happens to your shoe laces.
As a child, I never paid any mind to birds, except for maybe a few eagles that were flying low or something. As I’m getting older and watching videos like this made me realize how intelligent and...in some cases almost human like in their actions. I just never even considered the daily lives of birds before. Just superb footage here! Well done with everything.
5:35 I love how the dad at first was like “I lost my child 😞.” He then tastes the yolk and is like “Hold up! They taste good!”
For four months I cared for a Krestel that had been shot down over a dove field. It didn’t need more care than I could give it. Below it adjusted well to me and our home (I was 14 living with my parents) I kept it longer than needed but one day I let it fly off. I’ve never forgotten my time with the bird; it left me changed for life. Thank you for making this and sharing.
That was great to watch and what amazing parent's ...... Couldn't image the time and patience to put this together it's a credit to you
Glad you enjoyed it

And we thought our lives were complicated. An Incredible story of raising the next generation.
Lol yeah because this definitely compares to growing up as a human 😂 Lol can you imagine how easy and stress free life would be if you were born with one purpose and instinctively knew how to best do it you only had to depend on the previous generation for a handful of weeks. Doesn’t sound complicated at all, in fact it requires no conscious thought whatsoever. My apologies for completely dismantling your comment but I find it annoying putting such little thought into what I say.
Lmao it is somewhat comforting that I don’t have to constantly worry about being torn apart and eaten by competing predators on a daily basis
This reminds me of one of my most favorite bible verse, Matthew 6:25-27, we always worry about our complicated lives when God provides for the birds in the sky, aren't we more valuable than birds......if you are in a tough spot, hit rock bottom or almost want to give up, just look at the birds above, and say dont worry about a thing cause its gonna be alright.
@@ishnillow1489 That’s one of my favorite verses
@@philsummerfield206 I agree that it is not complex, but it isn’t easy nor stress free. In some aspects, humans have even less to worry about as they do not live in the wild. They lack sentience, but still go through multiple fights and often end up not even living past their first year. I do not appreciate how you disregard any form of tension and emotion between inter-species rivalries, failure, providing for god who knows how many children + your spouse + yourself, etc. It is true that they have one purpose, but that purpose is to raise their kin, to fuel the next generation. This purpose means finding a nest, then impressing a female (if male), protecting their eggs from any harm before the children are even born, providing sufficient food for the family constantly, and fighting. Us humans sometimes interfere for worse as we cause problems like climate change and global warming. In conclusion, animals do not have it any easier than us and can still feel emotion and physical pain: they just do not know of their existence like we do due to their lack of intelligence.
I think the fact she killed a blackbird and fed it to her children I think was subtle revenge for that one time it ate a egg (btw cant remember if that was also a blackbird at the start)
It was a Blackjaw/Blackdaw? And she killed a blackbird. So different.
@@kendrahein45 It’s called Jackdaw I think
It wasn’t revenge it was a misunderstanding oof
And plus the black bird was small and we don’t know what black bird is but it isn’t the one that ate the egg it was a different black bird
And yes it’s a Jackdaw
@@Edymatin blackbirds are good garden birds, they eat seeds. Jackdaws are part of the crow family. They eat other birds eggs and their chicks.

This was a real privilege to watch this thank you so much absolutely precious 🦋
You are so welcome
Seeing the owls coming in reminds me of the strategy my dad used in building bird boxes. The entry hole was meant to be just large enough for the desired species of bird so that larger would-be predators couldn't get in.
You can actually see emotion when the dad takes the broken egg out. Genuinely hurts to see, but nature is nature, and this happens all the time sadly.
What dedicated and devoted parents - and so determined too. Despite ferocious attacks and the loss of two of their precious eggs, this amazing pair did such a fantastic job raising that delightful brood. Thank you so, so much for this Robert. Medicine for the soul.
I love how three of the sibling birds landed on the perch together, all exhilarated to finally be outside, and in the world. Recognizing and chirping back and forth between each other all excitedly.
It is so cute how birds twist and roll on their eggs to make themselves and the eggs comfortable, love this 🥰😍
Omg the way that Torn owl Looked at the camera on this part is so CUTEE 😭☁♥ 0:28
Strange that it becomes the primary villain. D:
All of these birds look so cute, but it’s survival of the fittest.
So many mouths to feed but the parents have done such a good job feeding them.
I love how at 20:29 the Mother Kestrel falls over top the chicks and I picture the mom being like
“Alright chicks, we don’t tell your father about that”
0:32 Look at how he interacts with the camera! Just adorable!
I Like How In The Second Raid After She Scared It Off For A Few Seconds She Was Like: “YEAH YOU BUGGER OFF RAT!”

Even using her wings to hold and kick the intruder!
And even wakes up when she feels an alarm!
