Yes. He kind of reminds me of St. John Cupertino, who (based on the movie), was a simple man but kindhearted.

This saint should get more attention in this era. Since many of my generation either due to their own failings, the failings of the pervious generation, or both failed to learn serious discipline and responsibility and work ethic, St. John of God's intercession can really be helpful.

Honestly. This is the first Saint Ive seen that probbs had ADHD and Ive only listened to two videos on him and I love him already.

This was a great talk.
March 8, 1986, at the end of a 1st date with a Catholic young man, he took me to his Church, lit only by candles. Sitting in front of the what I called "gold box," not knowing what a Tabernacle is, Jesus so overwhelmed my soul that I never went back to the Baptist church, and 18 months later was Baptized a Catholic. I didn't know who Sr. John of God is until this video. His life explains my issues and impulsiveness so well.

There is hope for me. St John of God pray for us. I also feel hope from Maxime of LaSallette, who, although not canonized, lived a holy but sporadic life. I relate so much. I am happy to hear that becoming a Saint is not about having no faults necessarily, but about desiring to do God's will and attempting to become holy.
How amazing is this Saint, I can't imagine how he must have felt at 8 years old on the Street as an orphan. 8 is still so young. It's a wonder he wasn't returned home when the man took him in to care for him. He was 22 when he left the man's home and had learned compassion. He must have been a very likeable fellow with quite a spark in his personality. I think it very courageous of him to keep trying. This is what is most important I feel we keep our eyes on God and do the very best we can.

Thank you for this lecture. My guess is that his parents' "guest" abused their hospitality by encouraging their son to leave home. He was irresponsible in not allowing a young boy to attain full maturity.
Imagine your so overcome with mercy for starving people you litteral steal someone else's food lol.
This priest is torn between virtue as God's Will vs serving the poor as God's Will it seems to me.
