Hi Mark, I'ver been shooting .5 Green for a couple of months now and agree the longevity is amazing. Began recording the # of shots when they didn't show or feel any signs of fatigue. Reached 1000 shots and plaid it safe with repacements. Maybe they are the energizer bunny of slingshot bands! Great videos!!!
Great video Mark, I like the white better myself, I also find that a lighter draw weight is more suitable for me... great info in this video, but really it kind of boils down to personal preferences. People can at least see the stats on the green and maybe it will help their buying decisions! Thanks man!
Oh ya. All things slings comes down to personal preference. I prefer the white in .5 too. A lighter draw with almost the same speed is the way to go in my opinion.
I've tested Omega white in .45, .5, .7, .8. Green in .5, .7, .75. All of them test on the slow side for band thickness for me. All of them test on the light side of draw weight for band thickness, green generally being stiffer than white. All of them have been legends for longevity. Consistency over the life of the band set is also fantastic. I'm wondering if you're " pulling against the back wall" slightly with your draw measurements as they seem heavy for both the green and the white? I'm loving that your releasing more band testing. Thanks for the video!
Interesting. I thought the same thing and cut a band set a little longer and got slower speeds. I agree with you on the draw weights. But I got no change on the speeds with the green. To be honest I was shocked by the results I got and did a re-test with a band set exactly the same and one slightly longer. It could be temperature and draw lengths that made the difference. I only got about 4 fps difference on average. What speed difference did you get?
@@ATOMark Anywhere from 4 to 10 fps depending on which thickness. I test a little different and admittedly most likely less precise as I test my every day setups as opposed to maxed out ones. I just try to be as precise as possible with measurements. So I can say ( as an example) for my set up bsb white is faster than Omega but Omega feels better and last longer. I don't have to extrapolate from optimal/Max to real world because I only test real world. Of course the test may then only be valid for me.... But I'm not a content producer🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Jb429421 I test only maxed out bands because it's the only way I can give a base line. This is not what I shoot on the daily at all but what I started with so I try to stick with it. On my shooting setup. The draw weights are much lower.
@@ATOMark I know. I get it 💯. Even though I test everything myself your tests are still very valuable to me when considering latex. I'm not criticizing your methods at all. Bottom line....YOU DA MAN !!!!.
I didn't think you were criticizing at all. It just could be that the green elastic would need a different taper. I value all opinions and welcome them. I was surprised at the results. By eye and feel I was alexpecting 20- 30 fps more for the green. The white shocked me for the draw weight and speed. Both are great Elastic
Hey bro. Ya man this one had me baffled. I made 2 more bands to check my results. I would have bet that the green were at least 20-30 fps faster from shooting them. One of the sets I cut the exact same and the other was about 5 mm longer. The longer bands were a tiny bit slower and the same setup was pretty much identical scores. Either way. I have 200+ shots on a maxed out set and they are still going. Excellent bands. The way I figure 6fps different in your tests and mine that's pretty close.
I was also suprised and thought the ball would be zinging alot faster , the can test is always the most interesting to me ,I remember in your simpleshot .5 black test 8 mil was punching through both sides of the can , is that still the fastest bands that you've tested ? I've been practicing with that exact setup and have enjoyed improved accuracy at greater distance and the power to take dove , rabbits and grouse ethically, thanks for doing all these tests I really learn alot
Simpleshot .5 black were never the fastest bands I tested. Snipersling .5 black then GZK green. It's great to hear you find these tests worth the work. I find them interesting aswell.
As far as omega I prefer the white. But all the speed tests I see are for highest speed. Wild and wired did a test I prefer. Deviation, precise cyan had almost no deviation from shot to shot.
What do you mean deviation? I almost stopped doing these tests because of people seem to care about is the speeds. If anyone should take any of this information as important it should be the draw weight. I have found the most important thing to concentrate on for precision shooting is finding a light draw that will give you the speed needed for your task. Hitting the target should be the most important. Really heavy setups are harder to hold steady and it really messes with your release.
@@ATOMark same, I prefer a light smooth draw. I mainly target shoot. As far as deviation, the gap in between the fps from each shot. If you haven’t seen wild and wireds video, I can find a link, he does a decent test on three bands. BSB, Omega white, and precise cyan. The cyans deviation was .8ish fps in ten shots.
Using wasp 17/12 on 8 m steel looking for a band that will be good for 8 light enough that don’t fatigue to quick come down from 20/15 with 8.5 Need light draw but want to go to back to 20/15 ??

Interesting results. Looking forward to the .45 review
Good one mark top info on both omega band products
The electric white is smooth but it roars with 9.5 brilliant mate 👍🏻👍🏻
It's funny I prefer the white in .5 but green in .45. It truly is great stuff that lasts.
nice review...thanks mark 👊🏻😎
Great video mark 👍
Thanks bro
Great review Brofiger
Thanks bro
good review Mark. I've been using the .55, and really liking it.
The .55 is nice.

Fantastic job brother. I found with my draw I tend to get about 10fps faster with green.

@ATOMark thanks I'll have to go back and watch more of your tests, I tried finding snipersling black today , was it replaced by army green?
No idea I an not a fan of either of these elastics. They are very fast but don't last long

I shoot the .45 in both green and white. Maybe I don’t know the terminology correctly but I find the white stiffer or heavier draw .. weird
I have a beagle v2 it beats my ergo Wendigo almost love as much a spitfire
I prefer the beagle v1 to v2 but both are great slingshots. The Spitfire is great too. I need to try a wendigo ergo.
Have you gloried the bul bul brace
Sorry type error have you tried the bulbul brace
@neildempsey36 no i have never tried a bulbul
