Your ‘How To’s” are always a treat to watch, Dan. Clear and concise; cup of tea, Sunday morning and DAC industries to watch; love it! Thanks for another great instalment on the camper, OEM+ with the seats, so looking forward to seeing how you do the back. Keep going, bud❤️👊
A very detailed how to guid on fitting the arm rests Dan, it looks a lot of work just to fit arm rests but the look on your face at the end when you were sitting in them make it look like it was well worth all the effort, hope you get the heated seat function working🤞👌👍
Once again, a top video, Dan, thanx for it. I took a seat apart once from my Merc SLK, because the seat heating wasn't working anymore. I could easily fix it myself. The heating is actually a simpel long cable which was broken. One can easily weld it with a welding gun and it worked again. Best wishes for 23 from Holland, Peter.
Badass mate , you have some skills . Total respect to all you guys and girls in the v dub community, I'm a big fan of v dubs especially transporters . 👍🇬🇧👍🇬🇧
So nice Dan! Should make for a great summer. You’ve got some mega work going on at the moment buddy so keep up the good work and enjoy the well deserved success it will inevitably bring you ! 👍👌🖖🙏😎
heated seats wil be easy use the black relay box from the original t5 heatet seat and you only need to make a small wiring harnass under the seat and it work i done mine seats with leather the come from a passat 3c the connector for the original t5 relay box is a pci-e 12v connector from a computer power supply
Great video again Dan! Can you please advise, did the armrest kit you bought come with the brackets an fittings as its doesn't say on the website....... thanks . Tom
I’ve got wiring diagrams in pdf files if you need them Dan, I’ve retrofitted heated seats in mine but using Range Rover evoque seats and vw heated seat pads and switches
I think the main reason why hog rings are used are for speed I’ve worked at a trimmers and they go on very fast. Obv they are probably stronger than cable Ties but only marginally for this use. If time isn’t an issue I can’t see an issue
@DanChambers 👋 nice one as always! Could you confirm if the airbag connector of the golf seats are compatible with T5 one’s? Wish to switch seat like you did but keeping the seat airbag works. Thanks!
Another seat that would work would be the Passat B8 GT seats with the winter climate pack. As it would match the Alcantara that you have put in to the Door cards and the front of your roof lining. I find mine are really comfortable, especially as I currently don't have my car as it is sat wait for a part after my car was driven into at a junction, so I am having to suffer a Vauxhall Grossland X, which is nowhere near as comfortable and nowhere near as refined to drive.
I'd assume as long as you use decent cable ties, they won't break. That's the only reason I'd imagine hog rings are used in the first place. Longevity?.
I used cable ties on my first T5 and they will do just as good a job than the hog rings and anyone that says otherwise obviously hasn’t done this sort of modification to any seats.
Proof that everything is achievable with a bit of patience and a methodical approach! Another great vid DC 🤙🏻
Thank you bud, it is indeed. These next few projects will test that theory though!

Great idea mate nothing more comfortable than a seat with armrests always use them when fitted to whatever I’m driving
Thanks bud, They are so comfortable! Can't stand driving a van without and arm rest.

Amazing modification on the GTI seats adding the arm rests, look the business mate.🔥👏🤛👍
Made that look easy Dan! Some top work as always
Thank you bud, Not really too bad a job to do.
You done a great job and I must agree those are 100 times better than the original transporter seats, the arm rests just top them right of 👍
Skillz! Quality mod Dan 👌🏼

Nice job Dan 👍👍 I couldn't do without my armrests in the T4, they are a godsend 😉
They look very comfy!!
Another awesome video mate.. throughly enjoying we're this t5 is going.. keep them coming and also looking forward to when u get back on the mk2 👍
I agree with you. When I done my Skoda Fabia VRS seats I done the same, cable ties work a treat in my opinion !
Absolutely top notch "how to" video!
Yet another great video Dan, do look forward to 9am every Sunday. Van is coming along nicely now. 🤟👌🤙👍
This is something ive wanted to do to my Evoque seats in my Trafic for ages.

Yeah doesn't seem too difficult. Just need some time to sit and sort it!
Very good video on how to. Big thank you and look forward to more videos

You are real best, real magicion!
I’ve got wiring diagrams in pdf files if you need them Dan, I’ve retrofitted heated seats in mine but using Range Rover evoque seats and vw heated seat pads and switches
Thanks for the tip! 😃👍
You have to be comfortable driving and chilling in your T5 Dan. What is it with VW seats? My VW Jetta seats were so comfortable.
Yeah I don't get it either! some of the seats are so uncomfortable!
I think the main reason why hog rings are used are for speed I’ve worked at a trimmers and they go on very fast. Obv they are probably stronger than cable Ties but only marginally for this use.

Beaut mate, nice one 🤙
Are we gonna talk about how nice that kitchen is?
Hopefully 🤞🏻 that will be on his other channel
Don’t suppose you have a link to where you purchased your arm rests please?
great work!!!

Get in 👍

I agree 100%. I love my B8 Passat GT. 160k super comfy miles and they are still in really good Nick. Shame I’m selling it for a Tesla Model Y lol.
Dan, what tyre sizes are you running please?
And which centre caps fit the GP7 wheels?
Thank you
Hi, I think they a 245/35 20 from memory. The standard steel wheel caps fit but you need the adapters from Transporter HQ
@@DanChambersDAC Cheers Dan. Ended up going for 235/35/20 as per Chris @ Lowdown! Aka Tesla spec! Michelin Pilot 4S - £250 each though 😳
What about the lumbar adjuster? Seems like the arm rest is in the way and would stop you using it? 23:09
Will you be doing a big brake conversion on this using oe parts?
Nice work
Hi what size of tyres did you put on the Nevis wheels ?
Where did you buy the metal pieces for the arm rest ?
I'd assume as long as you use decent cable ties, they won't break. That's the only reason I'd imagine hog rings are used in the first place. Longevity?.
Ease and speed of manufacture = money!! The factory will have self loading hog ring pliers so will be able to install them in the blink of an eye.
That my friend is a top top job.
How do you even know that this is possible when stripping and stripping 👍🏻
Awesome
Personally I would have made the Side Airbag voids into hidden storage 😉😉
That would have been a lot of work to create a flap in the seat fabric.
Cable ties make it much easier than trying to use hog rings, especially for the under-initiated, it’s how I would of done it. 😂
You didnt need to strip the seat. And use pliers to twist the rings.
Привет дружище. Наши ребята давно научились ставить сиденья от BMW, разные серии, лучше F-15, получается намного круче.
I used cable ties on my first T5 and they will do just as good a job than the hog rings and anyone that says otherwise obviously hasn’t done this sort of modification to any seats.
Another to fall for the ag1 trap. Not a great idea.
😂
Nice but £250 a pair!
Is that for the seats or the armrest’s
