Please review Ignea - Jinnslammer. This band is from Ukraine. The same country as Jinjer. By the way great review. Love your channel.
This song, is a about spending time with a corpse,(not based off real events related to band members) and doing *things* to it basically. (Lyrics)"Relax, it's over, you belong to me, I fill your mouth with dirt"
"relax, it's over, you can never leave" "I take your second digit with me, love"
"you are my first, I can breathe"
" I find you fascinating" "you are my favorite, I lay you down to sleep"
"it's all that I can do to stop, love"
"so blue, so broken, paper doll decays"
"I haven't left you yet"
"so cold, subversive, your eyes are full of bleach"
"tomorrow I will go away again, love" "you are mine, you will always be mine, I can tear you apart"
"I can recombine you"
"all I want is to covet you all"
"you belong to me"
"I will kill you to love you (love)"
Awesome playlist man! Watched it all! Keep it up! Hope you can react to my plague at London 2002. You should definitely check out their self titled album, different, spit it out is the only one you've reacted to off that album and that performance was a decade after it came out. VERY raw and unique album. Almost on par with IOWA in terms of heavy. I would recommend either official audios/music videos. But the music video for 'Wait and Bleed' is edited a little so I'd just do official audio. But if you'd like to see live performances from that era I would check out SlipKnoT live at Dynamo Open Air 2000. Thanks! 🤘
"I need a music video, for context!"
(me knowing what the song's about)
*No, no you don't*
Best comment😂😂😂
LoL
😂😂
(Me, who absolutely loves this song and album) Actually, yes, we do.
@@reca2489 u don't
One of my favorite albums of all time. The song is about being alone with a corpse. While Corey Taylor was recording the vocals he was naked, vomiting and cutting himself with glass.
Sounds fun
That s cute :v
mm I think thats not true haha
@@pablosole3700 well it is lol he said it himself
@@M0urnfulD3solation doesn't mean it's true. Musicians lie man. I also believe he did that but we cannot confirm it (:
Corey has told the story of recording this song. During the recording he stripped naked, broke glass, and started cutting himself while in the recording booth to make his screams more life-like
He also said this song is about taking a dead woman's body and coveting it/making it his own creation
I could tell you how this masterpiece was recorded but its really more entertaining to read it for yourself. This really is a culmination of all their talents and its such an amazing song. Live they would lead into Joey's drum solos with this song which was always really cool as a background for them. Im glad you got to check out the whole album and I really hope you get to go back and listen to their original one sometime because if you think this is a unique sound you havent heard anything yet! These guys are so underrated as musical geniuses! Awesome series man really enjoyed it!
the backwards singing is corey saying DONT LOOK AT ME. Because Clown whas looking at him
Maybe because Clown was dressed up in full gimmick
@@omerta316 maybe but corey also said that clown just looked at him and afterwards said wtf and looked away with discust because what corey did
I understand why you were a little put off by this track, as it's really more of an atmospheric decent into madness than a coherent song. but I think the lack of a traditional structure is what makes it effective. If it were a traditional 3 minute verse-chorus-verse type song it wouldn't be nearly as unsettling.
don’t forget the bass line on the drop, it’s so off and unsettling, not the usual type of line paul would use
The fact that every scream you hear Corey make is genuine Pain that he is going through makes this song a whole lot darker. And actually puts a image to the screams you hear.
This song is extremely difficult too listen too knowing corey is literally cutting himself with glass as he records this (You can really tell the pain in his voice)
This will forever be one of the darkest songs ever realised simply down to the image of what is happening and all you can do is listen.
Idk if anyone already mentioned this but the vocals at 11:44 is Corey saying “don’t look at me” in reverse. Just a cool detail
I've listened to this song like 30+ times all the way through lol
That's wild. Sober and clean any of the 30?
@@Hoopsick haha yep, I'm only 15 😎🤘 I love the atmosphere and sound of the song
I can’t even listen to it once lmao
I have this song play every now and again on my playlist. I barely skip it ever lol
Same! I love this song even if it's creepy.. the atmosphere and the bass line at the end are amazing
Just finished. Great reactions to the whole album. This strange song is actually a fairly common occurrence on Nu Metal albums. One of Korns most notorious tracks "Daddy" is a great example. Mudvayne's album L.D. 50 has several (one of my all time favorite albums btw). But I have to admit, Slipknot's are a bit more intense.
This quite simply is their best song if you're deeply into the band. The elements and the way it was recorded all add the how well the song tells the story.
this is not a song my friend this is a experience.
All I can say is, this song is the product of literal blood sweat and tears...and broken glass.
It's definitely a trip and a half. Really love the atmosphere and sludge metal/post-metal vibes. One hell of a finale.
"THERE'S SO MANY SOUNDS GOING ON" 13:43 you're damn fucking right there is
corey was literally in the booth cutting and puking on himself and just losing his mind true story
This is part of my “road trip” driving mix to just get into a zone and it also is usually the song I play as an end to my work outs. I hear this I know I have 15 minutes left to wind down. This song originated from “Killers are Quiet” from their independent release MFKR which was before Corey was the lead vocalist.
Killers are quiet is a banger
Great reaction to the whole album!! So glad you got to hear older more aggressive and less refined Slipknot!! These guys are so amazing and if you ever get a chance to see them in concert.....don't hesitate!! They are amazing!! Congrats you made it through the whole album!! 🤘🔥
I watched them all with you today. Thanks for doing these reactions all together. It was nice to go back through them again. I honestly love this song and Gently for the same reason that they bring a sort of uncomfortable mellow to all the chaos of the album. I know that people have told you the meaning to the song but not necessarily the title. Iowa (their home state) kinda brought out the crazy in them and I think this album and song could attest to that. I’m not sure of that but I would bet some money on it. I do love this song and have listened to it many times, I appreciate the trance like state and I love all of the variations of Corey’s voice. I find it kinda soothing. Fun Fact - they have played this live. Great reaction, thanks for hanging in there for us!
It's definitely not for everyone! This is more of method acting in a way. Some find it creepy lol. I find it calming. You need to do more albums by them. They have a very good disograpy. I appreciate that you give a honest opinion 😁 New sub✌
Amen 4 that
Method acting ?
@@slayyyterstanbruh3234 yes, in a way it is! Since method acting are techniques or training to bring emotion or sincerity to a performance. Corey just brings these elements naturally. He's good at making you feel what he does. Just my opinion😁
@@toassumeisignorant493 nah he’s not method acting that’s the wrong term i’d say hes just good at expressing what he’s thinking and going through even if does sound evil and imo beautiful like this masterpiece of a song
This song is top tier Halloween playlist tracks.
This song definetly has those vibes
This is the actual way to react to an album, just take it all in, one sit and done. Subscribed for that!! And yeah IOWA represents the darkness and weirdness of slipknot as a whole, I enjoy the song, took me years but is just something completely different
Thank you for this, it was fun and a bit nostalgic in a way...man, time flies! 👴🏻This is such a brutal album. I was fortunate enough to see them on the Iowa tour and I don’t think I need to say how it was! 😉 Epic doesn’t even begin to explain it. You need to get that live dvd from London, it’s 🔥🤘🏻 Hope to see more Slipknot album reactions in the future.
loved this album reaction mate, what an album. new sub here!
This song is creepy..now react to slipknot - scissors the most disturbing song
This song is about man, who girl killed. He dig grave and stay with her (short story 😂) (sorry for my russian english 🤓)
I just finished the whole saga... Nice reactions, man. This is my favorite Slipknot's album ever and it's great to see another people getting into it for the very first time. Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽🤙🏽
The last time I saw Slipknot live they played the entire Iowa album from start to finish at Ozzfest meets Knotfest 2016.
Amazing album. I don't see anything ever coming out that would match the intensity or rawness of this or Korn's first album.
Honestly this was my favorite track on the album and I think it's because the context and how I listen to music in the dark with 100% focus on listening.
Keep up the great reactions!!!
It's a shame that in order for such an amazing album to be produced, Slipknot had to deal with in-group fighting, drug abuse, and even almost splitting up. But at the end of the day, that's why you can really FEEL the power and emotion behind their songs
Korn has some really emotionally heavy songs like the self-titled on their next couple records (Kill You, Pretty, and My Gift to You)
Yeah watched the whole thing. Yeah I've listen to this song a multiple of times. Yeah i listen to just this song on it's own. Great trance metal song. It takes you deep into the parts of yourself that's wrong and scary and keeps you there.
Well we made it. We've officially gone off the brink of sanity into total uncomfortable craziness. When the mind snaps and thinks, murder, grave robbing body parts to replace because they need to be perfect and my personal favorite, necrophilia. 🤪😵😂😈👿🔥🤘. Gotta read the process of this song. Fucking insane. Love it. All I can say is don't listen to this when in a bad place 😂😂. Great reaction bro. Gotta check out the rest of their albums.
Everything is perfect about this song, the percussion parts are almost tribalistic like i love it
absolutely
definitely have listened to the song more than 10 times. there's already context in the other comments, so i don't really have to repeat anything. but yeah i like it, that build up is amazing. the drop gives me chills nearly every time.
This is the kind of reaction everyone wanted to see to this song lol I love it
Finally .!! Good reaction i hope reaction another album of slipknot .!! 🤘 from 🇮🇩🇮🇩
Great reaction to Slipknot. 😎👍. One also of my favorite metal bands. Keep it up and take your time.🤘🧒 Good morning. :) Watching here from 🇵🇭
Thanks. Good evening. It's about to bed time here🤘
@@Hoopsick Ah 😉👍 sure, take your time and good night my friend.
To put it in a slipshell, this song is about smothering a dead girl.
This song is just insane and so intense. Great reaction bro
Awesome reaction dude!
Iowa is probably my favorite track on the album because there is nothing like it
I mean art is art and if you want to know what art means ask the artist, but my best guess, cut down for time [yes, this is the short version], the song obviously is about a dude alone with a corpse, but far as I can tell this song is conceptually like the next part of an earlier song called prosthetics which is at first glance just a super creepy stalker song, but the song is called "prosthetics" - it's about the "replacement part" for something that was lost; I think it [meaning the song "prosthetics" - bear with me] is about the idea that keeping somebody in your mind, fetishizing them, refusing to let go, is analogous to the actual acts like stalking and so on [hence him repeatedly screaming "*what the f*** is different* man I can't believe I'm doing this"]. He copes with the real loss by not letting go internally but then he's coming to terms with the fact that he's just relying on a prosthetic while still left without his missing limb, and he knows the "prosthetic" in this analogy is toxic to him. So then this song comes along with, I think, just a development where he's gone beyond "keeping her with him" to full blown "keeping her forever". But the point isn't actually about a dude literally physically with a dead body, it's about (I think, maybe, prolly not, who tf am I) him simultaneously coming to terms with the fact that he has this "rotting corpse" that he can "keep forever" (ie his memories, crushed hopes, "not letting go") but also that he can "kill you" (both a play on the development of the analogy, and meaning "let go", kill you the thing I'm talking to which is the corpse which is just an analogy hence "let go") to "love you" (both meaning he can keeping you forever, but also that "letting go" is an act of "releasing the corpse" ie freeing you, ie caring for you, ie love you the person by killing off these rotting memories but also isn't that a nice parallel for my self-critical "what you're doing is just obsessing over a corpse" metaphor). But also the idea [maybe xp] that viewing it in these putrid distasteful terms actually helps him disconnect in real life. "I will kill you" (ie make you a corpse, ie the thing he is doing via imposing these metaphors) "to love you" (to view my unhealthy obsession from a different angle so I can see it for what it is a build a more healthful relationship/outlook, ie "love you", ie do the right thing for you)
I dunno how much that makes sense and how much I just reverted to my 16 year old self, but I'm pretty sure the song is ostensibly about a dude alone with a corpse, but really a song about a dude alone with his memories. A "rotting corpse". And he's playing on the double meaning of "I can kill you have you to my self forever ie keep you in my mind" and "I can kill you (the "rotting corpse" / the memories / the "prosthetic") to actually do something right." And the kind of masochistic self-criticism that comes from playing on that layered meaning
Just my take. I certainly think there's more than that (none of that explains why it's called "Iowa" for example), and I'm *CERTAINLY* happy to accept the possibility that literally almost everything I said is way off base.......... Just my take
hey, thanks from Chile 🇨🇱 your reactions are amazing. I love slipknot, u need to react to deftones too
Thank you. I don't know about Deftones. I saw them live and it was pretty awful. I've had a hard time getting over that
@@Hoopsick Never saw them live but I really recommend to react to the white pony album.
Every single second is just craziness.
Good on you for sticking through it lol.
Oh, Orbit Culture just released a live studio version of their song The Shadowing, definitely worth a watch. And as you mentioned in the Saw reaction, he does sound like James Hetfield -> they have done a cover of Hardwired, also worth a watch! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Corey, the vocalist was using a broken glass to cut his... well... he was naked and started to creatr this masterpiece.
Check out inhale by Stone Sour there’s a lot of Iowa vibes in that track.
That’s my fav in that album next to orchids
Aye! Watched the whole series in less than a day!
i listen to that song everytime i listen to whole album... its just part of it and it has the place there... without it , the album wouldnt be complete... if u know the backstory of this and everything u will understand it and then realise this was actually the darkest song of them all... it just fits perfectly at the end of the album. without it , it wouldnt be iowa!
Love this song, listened to many times
I'm sorry but I had to comment again for the sheer uncomfortableness in your face when it's just Corey kinda whispering those sweet nothings. LOL 😂😂
I’m late to tell you but the screaming in the background are screams of Corey cutting himself with the glass of a hot wax candle
Now react to Slipknot self titled album hahah much more speed, chaos, spitting bars, clean vocals...... have fun haha
Fow 'wait and bleed' and 'spit it out' tracks you can react to official videos :)
Pedro Sousa Wait and bleed studio version is heavier than the video version tho
@@Anton-dk9sj yeah I’d rather him just listen to the audio
Cool, I was the 50th like on this song and the 100th like on _Heretic's Anthem._
I remember being in jr high and doing homework in my bedroom to this song and the whole album
now you have to listen to how Corey Taylor tells the Story of recording this song during a Q&A on his solo-tour and please make a reaction from it XD :D
can listen to this 24 hours straight what a piece of art
This song and then another by korn called Daddy are two songs that I absolutely love but completely can see why they are not for everyone😅
Oh we're still listening alright...
This song is sickening, and I'm here for it. Freaking masterpiece
Great stuff loved this so far u should do ice nine kills sliver scream album its a mini movie
I did it. There's a Playlist on the channel. It was amazing
@@Hoopsick awww man my bad I watch so many reactions channels best way to find new music
I agree. That's how I used to find all of my music. Now I have to wait till people tell me about new things so I don't spoil it and I can have a good first reaction
When I was 14, i've listened it like 1000 times haha, I'm 26 now
❤
Hey bro, great job, it would be good if you would react to another slipknot album since they are all very good, maybe the homonym, or all hope is gone, or the gray chapter, the truth is they are all very good.
Greetings from Colombia, i love your channel
Judas Priest reactions???? YOU'RE KILLING ME!!!! Plese react "Victim of Changes" (Live at Semihole Arena)
corey in this song broke the glass windows and cut his own arms chest and legs i think ! fucking crazy !
Fun fact: Corey actually cut himself in order to get a lot of the screams and growls you hear through out the album.
He wasent ready...he really wasent XD
Easily the best song on the album imo
That's quite disturbing
@@Hoopsick I just love the atmosphere and ambience of the song, the trance it puts you in, the soothing bassline, all the little vocal parts. It just feels like a complete art piece to me
Please review Ignea -jinnslammer . This band is from Ukraine. The same country as Jinjer. Great band.
As someone that has Iowa, I can say that I hardly ever listen to the title track. The reason why is not because I dislike it. That's quite far from the truth. I love the title track, but at the same time, all the pain and demons that Corey released on this track, as well as what he put himself through to record it, in ONE FUCKING TAKE none the less... Corey is a God. Now, the reason why I don't listen to it very often: like I said, Corey exorcised alot of demons with this song, and everytime I listen to it, when all of Corey's demons come out, they speak to my demons and try to get them to come out. Which isn't pretty. That's also the same reason I rarely watch the live performance from slipknots knotfest '16 set where they performed Iowa in Its entirety. I not gonna give anything away about that performance, but I will tell you to watch the full set in its entirety, and then a when it comes to iowa, pay very close attention to Corey throughout the performance.
To me I always thought it was inside the mind of a serial killer. Anyways the song is cool if you wanna scare yourself a bit around Halloween time and go to that dark place In your mind.
I don't know if it's specifically about a serial killer (I know Virus of Life and the demo version of this song are) but I definitely know it's about a necrophile. Really disturbing stuff
I glad this no music video 😅
For me, this is not a song. It's an experience
you should google how this song was recorded and what it's about lmao.
Nah. That's not how I do. If you can't make a song that makes me want to listen to it again than that's on them. Me googling it won't help. I'm just gonna call it a bad trip, and roll with that😂
Probably the best song about fucking with a dead body.
@@Hoopsick the thing with that is....you are not meant to wanna listen to it again, it's intentionally off putting, so you not wanting to listen to it again says the song did it's job
Like Korn's daddy....you listen to it once and...well once is all you need
Do a separate video now that you know
hahaha its made to set the tone for the album. Technically its not an official track just an outro to the album.
This song makes me all sorts of uncomfortable lol
If this does u ever heard Korn Daddy?
@@Jack-zk6wb yeah, it's a song I've only ever listened to once though cos it's just too much. I think Jonathan is awesome and to know he went through that shit is heartbreaking.
U wot same man too sad
That means it's working! Lol
15:52 No you don’t 💀 trust me
Think its about him killing a woman that he liked but she refused him/didnt like him. He killed her and then "played" with her body
Do Slipknot killers are quite
You need to react to more thrash metal songs and bands.
Megadeth
Slayer
Anthrax
Kreator
Nuclear Assault
When you don`t look up the background of the song and try to listen to IOWA lmao hahahah. Sorry dude, for this song you really need to look up the meaning and the background of how the song was made to understand, otherside you will just be like ``what is happening`` during the whole song LOL.
That's what it seems like. I'm not into that though. I want the SONG to hold my attention, not a meaning that I have to look up. That's just me though. This was wild
@@Hoopsick I know, and i fully understand you. Thanks for reacting to my favorite album!
It's was definitely an experience. Not one I plan to have again. I think they had the same riff on the bass for at least 6 straight minutes in the first half of the song. It was like Chinese water torture with an instrument. Then they add in screams and groans to make it even more uncomfortable. They created something very unique, no doubt about it
@@Yamatsu7 I personally think the song has a lot of merit even without the context. I like dark ambient and noise music, so the repetition and atmosphere doesn't confuse me. It's a really good piece of atmospheric sludge metal
Purity. Where's purity?
That's on the 10th anniversary self titled album
@@devon5546 I'd like to see his reaction to it.
@@paravelove2293 yep, that's a good one
I can not listening to this album whit hot this Song

kids these days and their musix
You will definitely never go to Iowa
I don't know. Everyone loves this song, but of all Slipknot songs in this album, this is my less favorite. It's really tiring.
has ur mind changed yet
u have to be in some kind of state of mind or emotion to appreciate this song .i also didn't love this song but sometimes when i'm about to sleep i play it .it's calming ..
