I would recommend placing the hot space bar on a flat, rigid, and narrow surface (such as a metal I-beam) and then taping down both the ends with a duct tape. It will become flatter and hold the shape better if it is allowed to cool down completely while being forced down straight.
@@cruzjimbo the Rheinmetall 120 mm L/55 main cannon of the German Leopard 2 MBT will also do nicely if the metal I-beam sounds cumbersome. At 17.5 feet, it is long enough to accommodate even a 7u space bar.

At least now you have 2 keycap sets... which means you would need another keyboard... which means you'll need switches... then you would want another board... then switches... then keycaps...

Have you tried using a jig to apply pressure and have it sit there for a couple minutes? Something like a hand weight stacked on top of a thick, hardcover book should help. The added mass around the space bar should help it cool slower as well
@@thechemtrailkid I’ve been trying this as well, I left it for 30 minutes and it still returned to the very slight bend. It’s enough to rattle the space bar on one side when installed. Currently trying with two weights placed over the sides of the space bar. Will return results soon
My spacebar is nowhere near this badly warped but it is noticeable, i've tried doing this 4-5 times now and can't seem to get it perfectly flat like my other spacebar

I think it’s a problem with my stabs since they came built into the keyboard and are kinda shit, and I’ve only found one spacebar that doesn’t stick, so I ordered new stabs and I’m hoping that helps.
@@minty_x Hey man, I did find the problem in the end. So I had this issue when I changed keycaps and stabs. As it turns out this keycaps has a slightly thicker stem/legs which rubs against the stab housing on my cherry-style stabs. I hope that make sense. Also I notice the fake-cherry style stabs has a wider housing than the genuine ones. So in the end I used the fake cherry-style instead because I wanted to use the keycaps.
Hello, I know that this is a pretty obvious question, but if, for example, there is a drawing on the blank (in my case, PBT plastic, the method of application is sublimation (to be precise, the blank is from Varmilo VA87M Sakura)), then surely it will not deteriorate drawing if you align the space with this method?
i had an issue where the standoffs for the stabs on the bottom of the keycap were too close together. I was able to bend them a little and it worked but still stuck a little. Just today I tried to bend it just a hair more and broke it and now i have a black spacebar on my pink and white keycaps :

i used to have the dinky keycap puller and it would leave marks on my keycaps so i used the switch puller instead.

Yes, I tried it with 2 different dye subbed keycaps (ePBT and random one from aliexpress). Did not mess with the dye subbing at all.

PBT keycaps are often warped during the curing process because of how hard of a plastic it is

Are you sure it's the spacebar and not the switch or stabilizers?

PBT has a melting point of 223 deg. Celcius. It will not melt a PBT spacebar

Reminder:
This only works when the spacebar is warped in the Y-Axis, so if it doesnt work for you its probably warped in the X and Z axis
