I didn’t know you had a flosstube! Thanks for the lovely mention. I’m also stitching that Black Sampler from Owl Forest but haven’t got very far. It’s bigger than I thought. Hazelxx
You know what the say? The more troubled something is, the more beautiful it will turn out! Your Chatelaine will be gorgeous! I cannot wait to start seeing progress on it❤ the WINTER chart is very pretty and it looks great on your frame!
That chatelaine will be absolutely stunning and worth all the angst once it’s done. Winter is on its way so the perfect time to get cosy with your spoon stitch ❤. Happy belated birthday 🥳
Loved all of your finishes and wips, Elaine. If you aren't back before our winter holiday celebration, I wish you happiness, love, peace and family time at Christmas and into the new year. Steph x
Enjoyed seeing your stitching! Loved your little pillow finish! Winter has finally arrived here in Minnesota and tonight I've got the fire going in the little stove and the kitty is spread out on the tiles soaking up the warmth...Thanks for keeping me company tonight!
Beautiful finish and frame on the Tra-la-la piece. I like winter scenes so much, and I think I'd have to keep it out all year long. You worked on a lot of projects this time. Great progress on them. I'm so glad to hear you talk about your Chatelaine. I have a 32 ct in my basket and almost bought it this week. Thank you. I'll switch it to a 25 or 28 ct. Whew! I wish you and yours a very nice Christmas season. ❤
Your finish is absolutely beautiful Elaine. Love it! Lots of beautiful progress on your WIPs. Sorry to hear about your Chatelaine saga. What a nightmare. Love your replacement fabric. I’m looking forward to watching your progress on it when you get started again. I’m looking forward to our SAL. I might start with February and give myself half a chance at displaying them in 2025! Hope you had a lovely birthday. Take care my friend. Happy stitching 😊 x
Great to see you & spend time with you again. So sorry you have to restart your Chatelaine! Love your finishes! I hope we see you before Christmas but, if you're not able to, I wish you & yours a very Merry Christmas! I hope you're able to get some stitches done during the holidays! Take care!
Congrats on your finishes, and I am looking forward to you annual WIP parade. Funny to think of you up there in winter, and me down here in summer hey! - take care, Nic x
Nice to see you again! Love the finishes! It sure feels like winter here today. I've got a chatelaine I plan to start on my birthday in July. I'm going to check to see what count the fabric is before then in case I need to swap it for a different count. My big accomplishment this month and year was my first full coverage finish! I finished my 2024 Haed Sal last weekend. Looking forward to your wip parade!
Sorry I missed your birthday Elaine, my mind has sadly been elsewhere. Two great fro's. It is good to see you stitching the spoons, my all time favourite of yours♥️. I think the word Chatalaine puts the fear of God in people especially when starting. Winter time is always a good excuse to stay indoors, wrapped up something warm and cozy😃(not that I go out much anyway lol). Take care, Happy Christmas to you and your family of in case I don't see you before. Hugs🤗
Hi Elaine lovely to see you and your wips etc. what a performance with your Chatelaine. At least we know now to stitch on a lower count fabric should we do one, so thanks for that. I was immediately enabled and went straight across to Talking Dog and bought the Christmas Etchings ! I’m looking forward to seeing your WIP parade later in the year! 😊
Lovely to see your smiley face Elaine. Your finishes are fab. Sorry to hear about the Chatelaine malarkey but it will be so lovely and you’ll soon forget the false start and you have that lovely fabric ready for another project. I stitch my Chatelaines on 32 count but only plain dyes so there’s no shrinkage and no problems with beads unless there are fully beaded panels in which case you just adjust a bit. That new fabric looks good and you will be off to a great start because you’ve already sussed jessicas. 😊. I’m really looking forward to your WIP parade. Have a lovely Christmas. xx
Oh no now I'm worried about mine. Japanese zen moss garden. It recommended 32 count. I have already switched from white linen to blue evenweave. Loved all your finishes. Looking forward to the parade.
Your finish turned out so good; love the frame you picked for it! Great job. I am really looking forward to seeing more of your projects as you get progress. You have so many beautiful ones going. Happy stitching.
Wonderful video Elaine! I am shocked that the Chaterlaine patterns do not specify using 28 ct fabric for the beads to fit.....that seems pretty important!! Looking forward to your WIP parade!! ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
It is precipitating here in Ontario too but in the form of snow…the shovels are coming out. Christmas is coming but winter is here. I love seeing your stitching and oh my the saga…but you have company in the challenges. 🦉🎄🧵
So nice to see you!! The chatelaines really should tell you on the package if 28 count is a requirement. So many people change fabric, how would anyone know that! Goodness! Glad you weren’t too far along when you found out!
good luck with your chatelaine. I was about to start mine on 32 count and will now go to 28. i love your ffi and would love to do it myself this winter.
Omg your Chatelaine story is such a good piece of advice for those of us considering doing one! Thank you, even though it's been a struggle for you, your pain will help others avoid the struggle! Winter has arrived here in eastern Canada brrrr 😉
I love that you’re keeping your winter cricket collection in a beach hut bag because you know that means cricket collection to you. I have spring chart but yet to get fabric or floss. My heart went out to you over your chatelaine saga. Especially on your birthday bet you felt like giving up altogether. Good on you for keeping with it. The colours are amazing and you just might have inspired me to give it a go. I just need to pluck up the courage. I think a chatelaine is the garden equivalent to double digging a large veg bed😅. Lovely to see your beautiful stitching again and I hope the girls were tucked up in bed nice and cozy that night. By girls I mean the chickens. Keep up the fabulous work and see you again soon❤.
Congratulations on your beautiful stitches. Love all your whips but taken with Feast and am tempted to do a full coverage project. I too have a Chateleine that I have had in my stash for years so look forward to seeing your progress and maybe it will inspire me to start! As a gardener I love all the seasons but least so Winter!
Your finish is gorgeous, I love the frame you chose! I’m just starting to get stuck in to my winter and Christmas stitching 😊 Looking forward to your end of year WIP parade!
Lovely to see your projects, really good to learn about Chats and the best fabric, I have two in my stash but only one of them with any threads….its the St Petersburg one which I am reluctant to start…just uncomfortable….love the sound of the winter rain…its heating up here in Perth, hope your winter and our summer are short and mild!
Great to catch up with you again and see your beautiful FFO's! I am so pleased you like your project bag and I look forward to coming up with a plan of what to stitch that will live in our twin bags! See you soon! xx
Loved your video! Wow! The Chatelaine project sounds like quite the adventure! I started to kit up one to start in October for my 50th and life took over...so still working to get there. They are intimidating, but so beautiful! I look forward to hearing more! Love the winter pattern! So sweet!
Despite the palaver I was enjoying the chatelaine once I got the hang of the Jessica stitches, so I do encourage you to get started. Which one are you doing?
@@elliewelliestitcher I picked the Alpine seasons garden because we moved to British Columbia, Canada from the US and it reminded me of our new home. I was also waiting because I don't have a stand and was worried that trying to stitch this in hand would not be a good idea. What is your set up like and what do you recommend? I think I'll love it once I get going. :)
Lovely to see you again. I don’t like winter very much weather wise, but I do like all the lovely winter charts that come out🥰🥰 Looking forward to your wip parade.
Good luck finishing your Longdog lovespoons. They really are gorgeous and I'm looking forward to seeing the finish. I paised ypur video to go straight away and order the Teresa Kogut Bird booklet. Ive loved and used the 'Grandpa's Sleeve' fabric for years, so have a good stash of it in various counts. Happy Christmas! Winter.
Your saga would make a great horror story for any stitcher! Seriously though, hope you finally get on well with it once you get the right size of fabric. Hopefully it won't take you as long as Teresa! Winter stitches are coming out now!
Hi hun. Love seeing all ur beautiful stitching. Sorry to hear about your chatelaine saga. I may have to change my fabric count now for my future chatelaine...thanks for the info. I hate winter ❄️☃️ im more of a spring and autumn 🍁🥮 girl. Aw well. Take care. Xx
You made my day, Elaine! I have a real love/hate relationship with my Chatelaine - and I’ve been at it over 2 years 😂 Jessica stitches are my nemesis, every time I get the hang of them I put the project down and have to re-learn it all again next time 🙈 Nightmare!! I’m sure you’ll fly once your new fabric arrives. I have been following your progress on the Winter deer project and it is lovely, so cute. Always look forward to your WIP parade. Thanks for another great video x
I think I’m going to be like you and have to keep learning the Jessica’s every time 🙈 yes my chatelaine will definitely be in the long term project pile!!! Happy stitching xx
Your tralala project is beautiful! I understand why you put winter in teh summer bag, but it shure was funny to watch it come out of the bag 😂, i expected something else Here in the Netherlands it is really winter. Last week we got some snow! What a beautiful projectbag you got! Happy belaeted birthday 🎉
Thanks for another interesting chat. It can certainly be frustrating when you just want to get started on a new project, and it all goes wrong .Good luck with your next start on your chatelaine. Winter. Jan x
Nice to see you and love your finishes, especially the framed winter chart, that chart is so cute and stitching looks great on that fabric and a good choice of frame. So glad you finally took the plunge and started your chatelaine and that you realised early on that the beads would not fit on the 32 count fabric, 🙈, at least you are well practiced now on the Jessica stitches for your restart! Looking forward to seeing your end of year WIP parade, but in the meantime wish you a very Merry Stitchy Christmas & Happy 2025 x❤
Have you ever thought about a change of profession? - I’m envisioning the Chatelaine Saga as the first of your evenings as a stand up comedian - thank you so much for sharing, sorry for all the aggravation it caused you but it did make a very good story on a winter day! Best wishes for a happy Christmas.
Hi Elaine. I love your choices. What is the name of the Tralala deer piece? Btw, so jealous of the sound of rain on the roof! I live in New Jersey & its only rained here 2x since August.
When I learn new stitches, I practise first on a bit of scrap fabric, cus then I don't have to worry about damaging my real fabric when I inevitably have to frog it 17 times 😅 xx Ps, it might just be me, but there was about 12 ads during this video - not sure if there was supposed to be? Xx
Hi Zoe, funny enough Teresa suggested I try new stitches on scrap as well. I will do that going forward!!! I have no idea why there are adverts on my video because my channel is not monetised so it makes me cross when you tube do that!! Wishing you and your family a lovely Christmas and I will see you in March xxx
Oh, I´m late, Happy birthday to you! Phew winter is coming, it´s cold here. I´m still hesitating if I should stich the HAED Sal. Is there no advice which st of fabric you should use for the chatelaines? One day I want to start a chatelaine too, but first I need more experience in stiching at all. Have a great time!
I would never start a chatelaine, they look and sound intimidating. They scare me 😊 We’re not have much temps for WINTER. We’ve had 23 days of rain in November, so everything is kinda wet right now. We’ve had pretty good temp’s, anywhere from 8 degrees to 11 degrees. Untill we meet again, happy stitching 😊🪡🍁
Thanks for this nice update! So brave of you to start a Chatelaine, they are lovely but with all those specialty stitches it is not for me (having said that, I own quite a few Jeannette Douglas charts 😉). The winter piece you framed is stunning. Happy stitching! Groetjes, Evelien
I immediately added the TraLaLa pattern to my wish list. Love it! I stitch lots of winter designs.
I didn’t know you had a flosstube! Thanks for the lovely mention. I’m also stitching that Black Sampler from Owl Forest but haven’t got very far. It’s bigger than I thought. Hazelxx
Love all of your stitching. Winter is my favorite stitching.
Good luck with your chatelaine. I know I couldn't do it but do admire those that start one.I love winter stitch patterns. Happy stitching ❤
I love all your Winter stitching, especially the one you have framed! Thankyou for sharing I really enjoy your videos 🥰

Happy Belated Birthday
