For all the foreigners travelling India. - Don’t travel at night - Try to travel in a group - Before purchasing a thing ask it’s price from multiple shops - Save Indian Police Helpline number ‘100’ in your phone - In cities like Delhi wear masks to avoid throat irritation - And try to visit different places like Ladakh , Darjeeling , Tawang , Cherrapunji , Amritsar , Andaman Islands , Kutch. - And do visit Nepal too.
I disagree with not traveling in night. Even though it's not safe enough. Not traveling in night Is like not living the full life of traveling in india. There are many places where traveling in night is safe. And not every person is going to harm anyone.
Here's one of my near-death stories. I'm an Australian, born in Melbourne and for the earlier years of my life constantly moving. This story happened near a place called Grafton. I think I was about 9 at the time, and I was with my family in our car coming back from a picnic. I remember I was playing Super Mario on my Nintendo DS, and I felt a slight tickling on my right shoulder. I look to my right and I see this spider on my shoulder. At first glance, I thought it was a wolf spider (a very common spider in Australia, they roam about a lot too), and I try to get my mother's attention. At this point, my sister to the left of me notices the spider and starts to freak out. I remember this strange look on my mother's face, and she told my father, who was driving, to pull over. My father grabs one of those small hand shovels (the kind you use when you're in the middle of nowhere and need to go) from under the seat. I remember him carefully opening my door and flicking the spider off my shoulder outside onto the bitumen road. Right after I remember him stamping on it, killing it. At this point, I still just thought it was a wolf spider, and just took it that my mother was worried about it biting me. Later on (hard to say, but was a few years later,. If I had to guess maybe around when I was 15) I remembered the story and was talking to my mother about it. Apparently, it wasn't a wolf spider. It was a male funnel-web. My mother reckons it got into the back of the car at some point, possibly during firewood collection. For all of you who don't know, the funnel-web spider is the world's most dangerous spider. It can kill a fully grown adult in 15 min. And this thing was on my neck. I did get a bit lucky with it being a male; The males tend to be much more docile than the females. Now thinking about it, this really does fit the bill as a classic Australian near-death story.

My near death story happened a couple feet from my house on my Dad's birthday. I was coming home from my grandma's house and I was heading home. After I got some things from my house, I was supposed to go on a date with someone I was seeing at the time. On the drive back home from my grandma's in my sports car, I decided to do a trick in my car. I gunned it at 55 mph. The road was slick and when I began to break, nothing happened (no anti lock breaks on my car). I was heading for a brick building and a tree. I decided to take my chances with the tree. Hit the tree at 55mph and on top of that, hit my driver's side. Ruined the car. Me, I only had some cuts and a bruise. I don't know how I loved but I did. Now, I drive a similar car from that year but I drive super careful and always follow the speed limit. People make fun of me for driving so careful all the time but it's not worth your life to be cool. Trust me. I would have never met the love of my life. I wouldn't have started college. I wouldn't have gotten out of my depression. I wouldn't have been comfortable with myself ever again and worked through what was going through my head at the time. To be clear, the girl I was dating at the time dumped me that same day. It wasn't until a year and a half later until I found the love of my life. We've been together over three years. You haven't had a traveling career until you've been in a vehicle crash... Joking! For real, I got into a car accident as I was leaving New Zealand to go to Australia. It was at a mountain pass where my wife was driving, and there was a snow storm. Before we got into an accident, there was an accident already with a truck and a car rented by three tourists. We didn't see it until last minutes when my wife asked me what to do. As I told her to steer away from the mountain drop and towards the mountain wall, the car slide as she hit the breaks. In india (North) , people's mother tongue is Hindi so most of them don't learn English or don't pay attention while learning English. In the south , people have different languages as their mother tongue and that's why people learn English cuz they know that it can be the only way they can communicate with the diverse group of South indians
They come to India and opt for the cheapest modes of travel and stay and then blame India. Come here and stay in a budget that you spend while you are in some other European country and then see how much lavishly you can stay
I was lucky enough to work close to 5 years in India...I had 5 wonderful years... but traveling by road between the big cities was very stressful as people (especially trucks and busses) drove like crazy..’had a few close calls...
Yeah, that's terrible. Sorry you had to go through that! Sorry for anyone that has gone through something like that. Great that you can reflect upon it and display the people and country in a positive light. We need more positivity in the world!
I’ve been in a car accident and that was pretty traumatising, can’t imagine what being in a bus crash in a foreign country with no family would be like
Kinda f*cking dumb of you to generalize every driver, at least they work their butts off more than you driving in a bus with no ventilation With such less money to get a license to get a job that pays less than minimum wage, where as you generalize millions while sitting in your room with your A/C on 18 degrees typing on the internet with your device with no shame at all, Man up.
8 months in India I nearly witnessed this many times myself. Especially travelling up north in the Himalayas on roads 17,000 feet high with landslides on every corner and destroyed busses. Those Indian busses 😓
Thank you so much for loving my comment. I have wanted to travel the world just like you and I have learned so much from you. I am a big fan. You are a role model for me and many other people. I hope you are doing well. You have made my week. Much love from the U.S.A.
When you travel to India solo or in a group, being around locals is a huge plus. The big cities are okay but the rural towns are better to visit. when in India:- 1) street food is a good try but try not to eat a lot of it unless you know you have a good tolerance to spice and bad stomach. 2) Be around locals 3) Try and be respectful to culture, Indians love visitors but be respecful. 4) try and travel by train or plane or do a road trip. 5) south india is a lot more vibrant and cultural than you think so visit! Take care and enjoy! Do visit pakistan and nepal too!
As someone who has taken many night buses in India (and is still alive), I completely get why you would be paranoid. The roads are scary and the drivers often drive very fast which can make you feel like you will fall over (out of your bunk or seat) at any moment. Moreover, the buses are often cramped to the point that not even a single person can stand in the passage. If you absolutely have to take a night bus to get somewhere and are travelling solo (from my personal experience), choose a bus that is more expensive (above INR 2,000 - I would save religiously to be able to afford this) and takes the least time and make sure you take a lower berth (easy to run out in case of a crash/fire/random men trying to feel you up - yes, that happens). And also, always keep your money, phone and other valuables close to your body and keep your main bag with your valuables next to you. Hope this helps you while travelling alone in India (or anywhere!) ❤️
I'm so sorry this happened to you Drew😯 Thank you for sharing this experience with us. It was not your time to die. It was meant as a travel experience to share with the world. Hey Drew, my crazy Travel Story is that i missed the 2017 London Terrorist Attack just by a couple hours. I had been at the bridge where it happened that entire day. Spent hours walking around London, then getting lunch and dinner before i left for my red eye flight that evening. I left downtown later that evening to go catch my flight at like 10pm to Paris. When i had gotten to Paris i turned my phone back on and it was blowing up tons of messages wanting to know if i was ok. I was confused and do my sister-in-law told me to check the news. I was shocked when i saw that a terrorist attack happened exactly where i was just moments after i had left for my flight. It was crazy that happened but I'm so thankful i had left. I made a last minute decision to not stay in London that night cause i wanted to spend a day in Paris to sightsee. What a crazy story I'll have for the rest of my life. Anyways, just thought I'd share my intense travel story.
Trains in India are far more cheaper than buses and they're also way more safer... for a foreigner, travelling in an Indian train would be a wild experience of its own
As an Indian I can say the reason for the accident is the driver was over duty and sleepy... In India we hear travel tourist busses meet accidents because of fast driving in nights.
Most dangerous things you can do in India: -Bustrip -Streetfood and a Glas of tap water -Taking a deep breath of air in Delih -Traveling as a single woman with trust in people
Hey Drew! Thanks for sharing your story, it sounds like you really were lucky to escape relatively unscathed! I've been super lucky twice in my life.. I was attacked by a shark while kitesurfing about 8 years ago, and by pure luck and the tack I was on, when it hit me from below like a freight train I was sent up into the air. My board was wrecked but I was only 100m out from shore so I could use the kite to drag myself in.. it was the scariest 30 seconds of my life, wondering if the shark would come back for a second attempt. The other time was shortly after I got my driver's licence, when a speeding driver hit me doing 60mph, into the driver's side, about 5 inches in front of my windscreen. My little old hatchback basically exploded, with the engine ending up about 100m down the road. But, I was completely unharmed, left in a capsule of a car without a bonnet, spinning slowly in the middle of the intersection. I didn't even hit my head. So, yeah. Here's to surviving!
I'm really sorry to hear that this happened to you in my own country of India. But, the fact remains that you didn't let it deter you, and carried on pursuing your dream. And you are on the verge of setting foot on every country in the planet. That, is what defines you. You're a champion, Drew!!♥️♥️💪
One of my near death moments are: 1: I was driving along in my holden and then the bus nearly flipped over and half of the window was broken, It flipped over and I got out of the bus and I survived. One of the most Australian Scariest Near-Death Incidents. 2: I was in the back seat when my parents were driving along. This was when I was in Greensborough driving along. When we were following a car. WE SUDDENLY NEARLY HIT THE BACK OF THE CAR. It was a frightening moment that it scared my mom. 3: I was in my room when I fell off the back of the bed and hit the floor and landed on my head and also hit the wooden cover. I didint break any bones, but it felt like I broke my bone. It was a frightening moment that I cried after. This was when I was a kid.
That reminds me the fact, "life is so short. We are just like another living species of this beautiful earth." Thank God u survived & brought positivity throughout ur videos. Rip to those 2 persons, may God bless them.
This story is really intriguing, I know it's not like your other videos but I recommend other people to give this type of content a chance. Very entertaining!
As an Indian myself I would say that driving isn't the best. The left side is for driving but people usually go on the other side to pass cars which is illegal in America.
Just FYI, you had to go to the hospital for them to rule out internal hemorrhage inside your head. This is how people die after accidents. If you remember the 1998 movie The Parent Trap, the star Natasha Richardson died of internal hemorrhage. Richardson sustained a head injury when she fell while taking a beginner skiing lesson at the Mont Tremblant Resort, about 130 kilometres (81 mi) from Montreal.
I studied abroad on Semester at Sea back in college. In the program's 60 years of existence, it's had its fair share of college student casualties. The worst was well before I did the program back in the 2000s in India on an excursion provided by the program. The bus driver going from Jaipur to Delhi was drunk and crashed the bus which killed over a dozen students. It sounded really horrible.

Omg Drew, I am so glad God protected you. Hope you are ok. Watching you from Canada.
That's my dream country ❤🇨🇦
I'm glad that you're still here, man...
I want to travel, I want to play football, I want to cook, I want to learn different languages, but I don’t know what career to choose!
You can do it all in time.
Don't end up to be a software engineer!
Become a footballer... then You can play football you can cook whatever's you want and while travelling to other countries you can leanr different countries
Travel to different countries to learn the language and cuisine. On weekends play football with local/teach football to local children. Vlog it all 🥰
Choose your career depending on your passion.
This wouldn't happen if that bus driver hadn't hit the brakes and turned to the left............
Exactly
He had a good reason definently, if he hit a big animal like a cow it could have been worse
It's never easy to control a bus in that situation

In india (North) , people's mother tongue is Hindi so most of them don't learn English or don't pay attention while learning English. In the south , people have different languages as their mother tongue and that's why people learn English cuz they know that it can be the only way they can communicate with the diverse group of South indians
Just an info guys. Ik that there are many North Indians who know english but I'm just pointing out a fact. No offense and hate. ❤️
Omg! That must have been SUCH a fatal experience. I’m glad that you made it alive. RIP to all the people who passed away. Much love
They come to India and opt for the cheapest modes of travel and stay and then blame India. Come here and stay in a budget that you spend while you are in some other European country and then see how much lavishly you can stay

I’ve been in a car accident and that was pretty traumatising, can’t imagine what being in a bus crash in a foreign country with no family would be like
Dude no reason to defend the Indian driving. It's evident that human life has no value in traffic.
I have family in the poorer parts of Pakistan and India and the driving system atleast there isn't that navigatable
Kinda f*cking dumb of you to generalize every driver, at least they work their butts off more than you driving in a bus with no ventilation
With such less money to get a license to get a job that pays less than minimum wage, where as you generalize millions while sitting in your room with your A/C on 18 degrees typing on the internet with your device with no shame at all, Man up.
Easy to pass comments that have no value!!
Looking forward to your visit to India Drew 🤩🤩🤩
8 months in India I nearly witnessed this many times myself. Especially travelling up north in the Himalayas on roads 17,000 feet high with landslides on every corner and destroyed busses. Those Indian busses 😓

When you travel to India solo or in a group, being around locals is a huge plus. The big cities are okay but the rural towns are better to visit.
when in India:-
1) street food is a good try but try not to eat a lot of it unless you know you have a good tolerance to spice and bad stomach.
2) Be around locals
3) Try and be respectful to culture, Indians love visitors but be respecful.

Interesting! Anyway stay safe!
Trains in India are far more cheaper than buses and they're also way more safer... for a foreigner, travelling in an Indian train would be a wild experience of its own
I just can't imagine it happened to you :'O
Hope ur okay and wouldn't happened again
Hope God protects you ever and ever
As an Indian I can say the reason for the accident is the driver was over duty and sleepy... In India we hear travel tourist busses meet accidents because of fast driving in nights.

Most dangerous things you can do in India:
-Bustrip
-Streetfood and a Glas of tap water
-Taking a deep breath of air in Delih
-Traveling as a single woman with trust in people
Unfortunately it’s reality.
I've done everything except the last one more than a 1k times and am alive 😃
It depends which part of India u are visiting
Wow, you're a lucky guy!
@@Lemonade6969 girl, but thanks, I agree!

One of my near death moments are:
1: I was driving along in my holden and then the bus nearly flipped over and half of the window was broken, It flipped over and I got out of the bus and I survived.

Drew you should advice people not to compromise on security because cheap buses or travel means may cost your life which is precious.

As an Indian myself I would say that driving isn't the best. The left side is for driving but people usually go on the other side to pass cars which is illegal in America.
This story i heard a 10 times before 😡❤️😘😡🤧
The guy just had a bus accident and one hour later he takes another bus. Wow. That's one way to beat the trauma..
HI Drew Binsky!♥️♥️
Just FYI, you had to go to the hospital for them to rule out internal hemorrhage inside your head. This is how people die after accidents. If you remember the 1998 movie The Parent Trap, the star Natasha Richardson died of internal hemorrhage. Richardson sustained a head injury when she fell while taking a beginner skiing lesson at the Mont Tremblant Resort, about 130 kilometres (81 mi) from Montreal.

Bruh wrong comment on the wrong video
I studied abroad on Semester at Sea back in college. In the program's 60 years of existence, it's had its fair share of college student casualties. The worst was well before I did the program back in the 2000s in India on an excursion provided by the program. The bus driver going from Jaipur to Delhi was drunk and crashed the bus which killed over a dozen students. It sounded really horrible.
I'm just grateful that most of the Indians is safe and u.
