  • @choke-
    @choke- 2 роки тому +1

    Not sure if this IS the right place to post this, but I'm going to assume it isn't and just ask anyway. I'm on the subway In NYC and this guy next to me is talking on his phone, which is pretty loud. I'm trying to read my book and ignore him. Then he
    starts cawing like a seagull, like seriously cawing like one would if they got excited. I look over and its a middle-aged guy cawing like a seagull into his phone. I look at him confused, but he doesn't notice me. I look back at my book and he's still
    cawing like a seagull. l look again and he's just cawing into his phone. I think this is the weirdest thing I've ever seen on a NYC subway, so I start recording on my phone. I got him on video cawing like a seagull (especially at the beginning) and
    posted it on my Instagram story. After that I got a lot of likes and comments on my post and other people were asking me if
    I knew who the guy was and if I could post his info so they could give him a piece of their mind.

      After 2kliksphilip hearting the initial comment: I mean this quite honestly. It shocked me a bit. It demonstrates the severity of the whole AI situation, which got also addressed in the other video ua-cam.com/video/oppj9MdNf44/v-deo.html .
      If the source that is saying something is considered trustworthy or at least real, how willing am I to question the content that this source is providing?
      Written so plainly, it's actually a quite obvious question and one that's been around for decades, probably centuries, going back to Greek philosophers, I would assume. But it comes along so modern and so impossible to solve, with a complete new thread, when taking AI + Social Media into consideration.
      For the longest time I thought: I got internet in 1997 or so, I am familiar online. I know what's scam and what is not. But these latest developments make it pretty much impossible, no matter how much "media education" you had. Something I thought would be the solution to many of our online issues.
      I am a rather optimistic person, I would say, but there is this feeling creeping up on me in recent years (last 10 or so) that humanity has taken a wrong turn without noticing and is now walking down an alley that's getting creepier and creepier without yet noticing the monster sneaking up on it. Like in one of those horror movies...
      It's just that it's not a Horror Movie where the things happen within a few hours, days or weeks. But the problematic changes happen slowly, very slowly, making it almost impossible to detect the side effects they have.
