The playing is great, and the tone of your guitar is absolutely amazing. Like I am jealous of that tone
Thank you!
Thanks heaps.
Studying Benson covers so much ground- he blends jazz and blues so tastefully and has a technical bag of tricks with which to execute the licks. Learning a GB lick is like 3 lessons in one. Thanks for this!
Great! Benson is fantastic, great job teaching the techniques! Thank you
Really cool licks, thanks for teaching me!
Nice job explaining...concise, but emphasizing what's important. Nice!
Thank you for your great lesson of playing George Benson blues.i started to learn and play it slowly.
Great stuff, I have loved Benson since the Breezin' LP. Some of the best driving music ever, the guy is awesome. Thanks for posting this. I subscribed so I will be back for more blues, cheers.

Excellent lesson!! Thank you
Great licks..! Good enough for having that Benson´s flavour but short and easy enough to play in different contexts. Thanks..!
hermosa guitarra!! GIBSON!!! un sueño!
Great stuff. Thanks.
I love 335s. But your vid makes me realise how they sound almost like a solid for obvious reasons compared to benson type guitars. I just bought a GB10. Love it.
Great! Thanks so much!

Nice bro!! Your playing is really good
Great content, enjoyed it....ty
Been listening to Benson way back to his days recording for Creed Taylor. Those old studio albums had some really great players like Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Airto Moreira, Steve Gadd, Micheal and Randy Brecker, Hubert Laws, Freddy Hubbard, Milt Jackson and just so many more. The talent pool at CTI was just amazingly deep. Taylor just picked someone, put their name on the album and away they all went! George put out White Rabbit, Body Talk, Good King Bad. One thing that stands out in this series of recordings is how during this period, George develops a discipline to the way he uses "licks." In some earlier stuff, his obvious natural talent is somewhat unbounded and he tends toward saturating his solos with notes without very much breathing room. Your choice of these five licks shows that you have observed this in his style also. These are the glue that hold George to the ground and they get you into position to jump off them and get back on easily. Well done Justin. They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery. I am going into the studio now to imitate these lessons from you. Consider yourself flattered! And........Thank You. I learned something from you today.
Thanks Robert!
You might like Benson's work on the great soul funk jazz album Midnight Creeper by Lou Donaldson. If you like it you will also like The Scorpion (Live at the Cadillac Club) by Donaldson as well. No Benson but Melvin Sparks does some unique guitar work.
Good stuff man, thanks. Just subscribed
Fantastic stuff man! I hear that last line (lick 5) as outlining an A7 chord (V7 of II which is a secondary dominant and used all the time at that point of a jazz blues). Thanks for the vid!
Yes. Great vid though
I luv it..🤟
Fantastic. GB talks about the flat five in his autobiography.
Swingin Bro👌
Lovely intro playing 👏
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Haven't seen other players' videos address a couple of those licks that I've admired from Jazz and Blues(Duke Robillard) players alike for awhile now. Thanks much. Great playing there.
Appreciate it Mike!
Great tutorial. Some really cool stuff and you make it look easy. Although its not really
Great lesson & thats a beautiful 335! 🔥🔥
Thank you!
Dayum...you can play bro. Close enough. In the "key" of Benson. Nice
Liked and subscribed. Thanks, great ideas there!
Thank you!!
I like that roll
Nice :)
Yeh his triplets going down the scales I like best... ( my favorite benson solos ar ed on the song "stella by starlight" .. the old recording
The best!!!
Beautifully done. Great way of getting the essence of the type of lick
Thank you!!!
fuck yeah!
Outstanding! Do you have any transcriptions I can purchase?
Sublime Excelente!!!!Merry Christmas greetings(listen to) Brinel & Azul !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome as always, thanks for sharing man. Will work on these. Quick q - for a new listener to Benson (but someone who already listens to a lot of blues), what do you recommend I should start with? Thanks mate!
Hey there! I would check out 'The New Boss Guitar' or 'George Benson Cookbook'.. 'Breezin' and 'Weekend in LA' are a couple of my favorites as well! Happy listening !!
Everybody wanna play like benson and earl klugh... ( man have you heard norman brown's album "after the storm"?
Cool! Which kind of pick do you use? Dunlop Jazz 3?
I use the Dunlop gator grip 2mm!
Most of those licks are not benson licks they are licks that are part of jump blues anyway
Great licks but was seeing nothing, need a closer look next time.
slow down a little bit
You are slow if you can’t follow this bruh lmaoooooo
though marvin's reply was completely uncool, you can always slow down the playback speed and help you learn licks to get them under your fingers.
Где табы ???
