That harmonic at the end was amazing! And I like how she lets the strings resonate for a bit before silencing them. Classical harpists often mute the strings very quickly (in my limited experience of watching videos of performances).
Just my opinion, but 99% of any song is in the arrangement and this is the nicest arrangement of this song ever. The execution (playing) goes without saying, also well done.
@@celestinac1105 I’m sure it can’t be that bad but there’s just so many strings. Like I’m too lazy to tune my uke every time I play it lmao. Guess the harp isn’t for me
I started out watching this thinking there is no way she's going to get through this song without any lever changes. Then I saw 0:21. Wonderful technique!
I first played this not looking too closely and was like “aw man I wish I could work towards this but I have a lever harp” then I noticed 😧 that’s so impressive
@uomodibassamorale, I had the same reaction as you. Alas, Poor Paul Desmond! He writes this great jazz classic but his band leader Brubeck always gets the credit. Hopefully the Red Cross (to whom Desmond reportedly willed the royalties) gets to shake its head all the way to the bank. This sharp harpist just gave another beauteous rendition.
I searched for Jazz Harp and I was not disappointed. Fantastic job!
Same lamo I wanted to see if it was real and it is
same here buddy
One more haha
Aaaaand that's 4 of us.
@@totallynotjank7243 It's been real for a long time. :D
Dorothy Ashby, Alice Coltrane and many others.
Fantastic! I can imagine a hip little angel playing this in the clouds somewhere.
I have listened to Take Five for over sixty years. This is my new favorite version.
I admit, I put on this music video as background as I started a new book and then the performance drew me in completely instead. Beautiful playing.

Just wonderfully done. I didn't know the harp was so jazzy. 10/10
this is the most badass thing i've ever seen

she has her own swing style too and its cutesy, adds a layer of something dainty to the origional
Absolutely beautiful and swing’n. Dave would be proud!
In awe of how you find those strings so quickly! Beautiful song and exceptionally done! Thank you. ❤
Beautiful, just beautiful
I typed in jazz harp
Same
@@zakariyapianocovers1404 i typed in harp jazz
Same here, glad I did.
@@rhysmc2608 same, after hearing the jazz version of rondo alla turca
listen to dorothy ashby
Just Fabulous. Nifty handwork on the levers in that first chorus! :-)
Beautiful. Love that rhythm...so soothing...
I’ve never noticed how similar the harp and piano are great work
Wow.....la perfección musical.....❤❤😊😊love
This instrument appeals so much to me for some reason. I wish they were cheaper to buy like guitars though D:
I guess it's a nightmare to tune tho
@@smoothie2629 they’re surprisingly easy to tune

I can't imagine how much a nice harp costs
@@miamiwax5504I got a used Camac harp for 5k CAD but you can also rent to learn
Simply Awesome!
first time i heard jazz coaxed out of a lever harp, a lot harder than a pedal harp with all those jazz accidentals
Amazing.

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't notice on the first watch.
Magnifique
I never knew I needed jazz harp
The equivalent of playing a rockabilly lick on a bagpipe. Genius. Gentle Giant/Gryphon/Greenslade genius. All hats off. Thanks.
And then the cheeky little harmonic note to round it off, like "yeah these are strings, nothin special, I practice" haha.
Une interprétation, avec le feeling de l'artiste. Bravo Madame
wow, what a great tune and what a gorgeous harp! looks and sounds amazing. Can I still get a Teifi harp somewhere?
I first played this not looking too closely and was like “aw man I wish I could work towards this but I have a lever harp” then I noticed 😧 that’s so impressive
c'est magnifique, merci pour ces partages !

NICE NICE TO HEAR THE SONG...SO RELAXING...HOPING i COULD PLAY THE HARP TOO... :-) :-) :-)

Wonderful!
awesome arrangement and playing. Have you written out your arrangement and is it available?
Superb
harpu play enjoy verry nice.
I searched for Dorothy Ashby, but recommended this one. But it's good too.
Sheet Musik??
Nice
I'd like to hear you taking a crack at Duke Ellington's "Kissing Bug".
Wonderful!!!!!🤣
Yes it must be a pain to keep flipping those levers!
She must have really liked this composition!
Hope shes doing well!
this is the obligatory "ok yeah but take five is by Paul Desmond" comment. Great rendition anyway, incredible sharping lever wizardry.

My hope teacher does a good rendition of this
Except she doesn't on a pedal hard
My goodness you should’ve given her a proper chair and lift for her harp. That looks so awkward and uncomfortable! She played it beautifully though.
Can you imagine plugging your harp into a good amp...
Who is the person that don't like this?? Everybody tells me, please??
