Onto other news, with Bruva and his team potentially Making their own setting, it would be nice to see you work with them And help with their new setting, only if you want to, it would be cool seeing the whole WH community come together to make their own setting, the guy who's making Asteria is open to the idea
And nice gun aswell, really nicely modeled and nice sound design, perhaps adding a bit of a charge sound effect would make it cooler but as it stands, gun make nice hole

Rip golden age of 40K animations. You were short but sweet.
As for the gun, I love the design. I'm a huge fan of diesel punk and the pirate theme is a great spin on that.
-The hammer and rear sight honestly feel a biiit flimsy and could do with some chonking up.
-It might be a perspective thing, but the rounds either seem too short, or the cylinder is too long but the mismatch is a bit odd/unnecessary?
-The front hand pose feels too loose. Like it's only being hold by the tip of the fingers, instead of resting in the palm of the hand.
Other than that the entire animation itself is really well done. Cheers.

Treasure planet was my favorite movie when i was 10 nice to see more people like it i thought the movie bombed
When you reload the gun it looks like the cartridge you pull out is still red. I was expecting it to be a different color or clear something. I also think it would be neat if it had a bit of smoke coming out (reminiscent of muskets). Other than that looks really cool.
Good point, I'll add that! The smoke was also something I wanted to add but gave up implementing because smoke physics give me headaches, I'll figure it out one day lol. Thanks for your feedback man :D
@@AbsolutelyNothing Might not work on this gun, or in SFM... But you could try adding some sort of barrel glow or heat wave effect. Could get around smoke physics, or replace that headache with a material or optical one.
Otherwise, an after effect like an afterimage or air trace might work.
I love the discharge sound behind the shot and the charging noise on the reload.
Yeah, sucks that can't do GW animations- but making your own project that you alone are master of is 100% cooler

Amazing gun design and how it functions! I guess the only nit pick I have is perhaps you could make the bullet glow or trace in some way. Like take a lasgun laser and put electric bolts around it, and it’ll complete it. But that’s just my opinion.

The weapon looks really good and really sleek, since I get a sort of American Civil war vibe from your weapons and concept art you considered maybe adding an extra detail to mount a bayonet on the end? Maybe it'll be too hardcore for what your going for but just an idea, otherwise looks perfect mate.
Man I have been looking at your Rimworld art for so long, who knew that the person that made all those cool Warhammer 40k animations was the SAME PERSON! Despite everything that's going on, I'm glad I'm in this fandom and I'm eager and excited to see all the other stuff you will make.

That’s a good gun. I really like the period-stylized and sci-fi mix look and the punchy sound that’s not just a “pew-pew” chambering and reload has nice effects. I guess if anything more metal showing on the barrel may make it look like an older musket ear weapon but great model none the less

I think the gun looks awesome, but everything looks very detailed, I would only say maybe the amo clip it’s self could use more details, but purely because the bullets that go into have a bit more detail. But like I said it looks incredible, far beyond anything I could do. I look forward to any and all things you choose to animate. Cheers mate!

The world you're building reminds me a bit of the game "Skies of Arcadia Legends" back in the Gamecube days. Having always been a huge fan of the "Treasure Planet" movie, I can't wait to see the new stuff you'll be putting out (the gun is awesome as well!). Keep up the good work mate, and hopefully we'll be able to see the 40k content in the near future.

The gun is cool I'd just experiment with a real set and lighting to make it look cooler, since context and lighting are what make most things look good. :D

This gun is very cool. The way you manually pull the hammer makes me think of a revolver but the fact that it's an energy gun makes me think of the laser musket and that one wind up laser from Futurama.

The barrel should be in line with the cylinder's tubes; right now it looks like the tubes are too low to allow the rounds to enter the barrel. Also, generally you don't see barrels fully encased in wood; remember that a firearm must be designed as though it were being build, not modeled into existence. This is especially true of anything with wood.
It looks like the furniture is supposed to be made of one piece of wood, which is a bit of an issue since it'd require sliding the barrel down the wooden grip to engage with the action. It looks cool, don't get me wrong, but it might be worth comparing to some early 1900s rifles for more inspiration.
The rounds are more like batteries, so them not being aligned isn't a problem. That is a valid point though, so I'll tweak it down the line. I'll also see where I can add some lines to split the wood into multiple parts to make it more believably built, thanks for the feedback!

Noice gun, the single action hammer and the revolver cylinder on a rifle kind of reminds me of the Colt revolving rifle made in the mid 1800s and used in the Civil war. A cool little piece you've made here.

I'm not gonna lie, yout gun looks great and the Treasure Planet is a fantastic movie. So I can only see good things coming from your next proyect. But the revolver like battery holder confuse me a little, I feel like it should stand out a little bit more, maybe it could glow until the hanmer is pulled and the glow would go to the four tubes.

That's probably the coolest gun I've seen in a good while, Fair play lad.
The gun is really cool, but I feel like the hammer should have some more weight to it in the animation because of how many things it's moving within the gun.
I dont know about or really care for Genshin Impact all that much, but the Diesel-Punk animation in that style still sounds super dope and I'd love to see it to fruition

In one 40K novel Titanicus they mention old and mighty las locks. Which to me sounds like a very archaic template for a lasgun. Maybe it is more a bolt-action with single shot power cells.

About your gun: only criticism I have is the animation for placing the next round in the chamber while aiming down sight.
The thumb takes too much space on the screen and distracts from what is going on in front of the character.
Usually similar animations for bolt action weapons make the character temporarily exit down sight to put in the next shot in the chamber.
For the rest, very cool firing animation!
yeah good point, it does break the line of sight. I'm not planning for it to be a game-ready animation, just something to practise with. Thanks for the feedback!
I like the gun,
My complaining critique; I feel as though you need the recoil to be a more rearward push with an up and right rise. Right handed shooters recoil will slightly go right as it goes up. The recoil impulse seems a bit sharp for a cylinder fed long with such small cartridges.
I like that you actually included a cylinder release. One thing you could do is mimic double action revolvers and when shooting fast he doesn't cock but make the firing slightly more uncontrolled.
Overall I love this gun.
