  • Welcome!
I am super excited to have this Malossi RX carbon exhaust system mounted to my Aprilia SR max 300 scooter (same as previous Gilera Nexus)!!!
In this video I will show you a full explanation on how to do the swap, starting with the unboxing, comparison of the stock and the new exhaust and of course a before and after soundcheck.
Can't wait to put this on the road for a full test!
    Thanks for watching!!!

Forgot to mention: the new silencer also comes with a dB-killer which is already installed from stock. Easy thing to remove it simply using pliers, however I never removed it by now because the sound already satisfies a lot the way it is. Furthermore, by removing the dB-killer, the system loses its homologation meaning you won't pass TÜV inspection by not being Street legal anymore!

nice video, and yes we missed the sound whithout the db killer😀 its a nice exhaust, why did you go for the malossi? the akrapovic are the same price.

@@peter0139 I got a pretty good deal on the Malossi which undercut the Akra by far.

Nice presentation mate. For years I've been tempted to get an aftermarket exhaust for my SR Max, especially since my oem got a broken piece inside at around 60000kms
I had the muffler opened up, welded and closed, repainted. You never know it's been opened, sounds just fine but oh well... I don't wanna be making extreme noise.
How's that exhaust with db killer compared to the OEM ? At 120km/h do you hear the exhaust or not ?

Hi Evangelos! At 120 (or even above 80) I'm more tempted to say that wind noises exceed engine/exhaust noises. So there's not really too much you hear in that speed range. However, being around the city, especially at traffic lights, you have a considerable deeper, more kind of "voluminous" sound which appeals me quite much. That being said, during the first 1-2km during cold start phase it pops and bangs a little bit when you take off the throttle.
I've never tested the exhaust with the db killer removed though, also I have no comparison to other exhausts such as LeoVince, Akrapovic, Mivv and all the others available, but what I can tell is the quality, looks and sounds from the Malossi overestimate my expectations.
Hope this helped a bit. Let me know if you have more questions. Cheers!

@@EIM2307 Thanks for your input mate! I never consider getting an exhaust for a scooter without db killer. Single cylinder praprapra sound is annoying :D
My OEM exhaust after 80000km despite the fact that now it's repaired, is still making a "knocking" noise inside, cause of baffles got rusty and probably hitting the outer shell of the muffler. Oh well ....
Cold start from the right sight of the engine, in the first couple of minutes is like you got a big spoon hitting a frying pan. They all sound the same though, I'm sure yours did that with the OEM exhaust more or less.

How about the performances? did you notice better acceleration / higher top speed?

    • @EIM2307
      @EIM2307  Рік тому +1

Actually haven't but didn't pay much attention to it. Sound improved a lot and also gives you some short pops and bangs while decelerating. You can also play with it while gassing it a bit which is pretty nice. Haven't removed the db killer ever since to hear its full potential tho.

@@EIM2307 nice thanks for your reply. My sr max 300 is stock and was wondering if this exhaust gives better top speed / accelration

@@peter0139 I heard that you can't feel difference at all with new exhaust, if there is any difference in the speed/acc then it's a very, very small.
But, as you know, people are different, I will try this exhaust on my Gilera Nexus 300ie just because of sound and that bangs thing! :D

    Hi,
Do you know What is the decibel is?

Hi, need to check papers. With the db killer mounted it's not too loud, just more bassy sound. Haven't ever removed the db killer though as it's not street legal in Germany.

thanks for reply. In Korea, limit 95Db allowed, for high dB cannot change.
Love your UA-cam makes me try to. Thanks in advance.
