@@brucelin5842 in my country, alexa is not available (malaysia). and siri wont be available on any other devices unless its apple device only lol. and the gps, fitness tracking is pretty accurate. battery last max 10 days for me in a single charge. pretty comfortable and stylish too (subjective). alot of customization which is very good. alot of good apps can be downloaded. with its price i'd say its really worth it hahaha it does all the job done really well.

Pretty close. One example from a 5 mile run the Garmin recorded 5.1 miles while the Amazfit recorded 5.03. Typically most runs are within 1/10th of a mile to the Garmin.
Right? The Apple Watch is doing a lot more under the hood though. More sensors, cellular, brighter displays, etc... At the same time I almost wish Apple would make a "dumber" apple watch to get more battery life. Isn't that what the people want?!
And yet people buy them like crazy. Apple knows how to brainwash customers. I gave up on "smart watches". They're all just an extension of a smart phone which already does everything. My ProTrek will outlast any smartphone and not having to ever have to charge or replace battery beats any smart watch.
@@ChaseTheSummittotally agree. Apple aren’t doing anything ‘wrong’, they’re choosing that daily charge experience by constantly updating the tech. The brightness of the Ultra 2 is getting silly. And yeah, a slightly dumber AW would be really interesting. Maybe not a mips screen but they could lower the clock speed of the processor a bit!
I think the amazfit bip 3 pro is fantastic and around $50. Even tho i upgraded to the action because it has readiness score like the garmin forerunners do, the bip 3 pro is satisfying minimalist tracker. Yes the bip 5 is better but it is not minimalist.
Up for this. Same issue with my Active. Posted this on a group and one guy said the same thing with his active edge while another guy said 2 green light should be blinking. Now I don’t know if mine came with a defect since I compared the health monitoring measurement with a GTR and GTS 4 and all have pretty much close results😅
It's basically the same watch just with a different form factor. This is one looks like an apple watch, the Edge looks like a Garmin. Internally theyre identical. I won't be reviewing the edge because its so similar.
Wow.. here in Brazil these other watches alternatives are kinda bizarre. The Amazfit Active costs R$700. The Coros Pace 3 is at least 3x more expensive. The Apple Watch SE costs 4,5x more ( almost 3x if you buy from someone that brought from the USA). The price jump is insane. The aternative would be a Huawei GT3, but there are some problems connecting the Huawei Health app with other running apps (like Strava).
Is there a Amazfit that forgoes the phone, music, gps and Alexa, but keeps the other stuff? This was really helpful and I am just wondering if there is a cheeper one cause I don't need all the bells and whistles. Thanks this was really helpful and you stayed focused.

I'm not a big swimmer so it's not something I typically cover. But yes, this watch is 100% water proof to 5ATM which means 50 meters. Realistically I wouldn't take it to 50 meters but swimming in the pool, or open water should be fine. It has activity profiles for swimming as well to count your laps.
Would this be better than the Polar Unite which is slightly cheaper? I don't need GPS since I just need to measure indoor exercise (elliptical, bike and rowing machine).
How good is Zepp Coach? I feel as a fitness focused watch they should have better waterproofing for swimming instead of making holes for speaker & mic. Anyway this watch seems to be right for me, gonna buy it
@@brucelin5842 Yeah, it going to schedule plans for you. I've tried the Basic plan before and it's just about HR. Currently I'm preparing for a 10K so I've chosen the Advanced Running plan. It plans the type of run each day like Easy, Long, Fartlek, Tempo, Interval. It'll notify you if you aren't at the right pace or HR zone. It'll also have a different workout period each week Zepp plans the entire week and doesn't change tomorrow's plan based on what you did today (in case you did extra or skipped). It'll change next week's plan. I believe Garmin is more adaptive in this regard
I have the amazfit 2e and I love it! BUT the problem while using it with an iPhone is that you cannot use all its features as an android user would :( for example with the notifications you get on the watch. I’ve tried it paired with a Xiaomi and it allowed me to select Microsoft outlook and Teams notifications whereas in my IPhone 13 an 11 it only allows certain apps like social (fb Ig etc), WhatsApp but no Microsoft! The rest are all Chinese apps. It’s so weird.
Thank you for such detailed review! Got my today and unfortunately I'm returning it - the reason is it has a nickel frame and side button color instead of dark black or gray. I have my old GTS 3 witch is single color (metal gray) and it looks stylish and small on the hand. Why Amazfit Active designer decide to implement nickel frame that makes it look cheap no idea. On all photos it does not look that way :(

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about files installed in the Active internal memory, but using its speaker instead of the one in the phone. Most recreational runner doesnt need more accuracy than this and get more than they need i general health data. So for most, this watch is "The One". Most runner bye a running watch way beyond what they actually need and can use to its fullest. Like the occasional weekend "when the weather is good" cyclist, that invest in some expensive carbon frame, instead of buying a better suited alu-frame and then invest in better food every day.
I'm a gamer transitioning to VR workouts. This sounds great for me. A good heart rate monitor is just about what I need. I have it on good authority that GPS support isn't quite up to date when linking Skyrim to a treadmill.
For me the VO2 max on Amazfit watches is WAY off showing mine down in the 40's when I've been lab tested closer to 55. There are race predictions within the Zepp app but again... not super impressed with the accuracy there either.

I do have this watch you do have Amazon Alexa, which you can ask her just about anything even have some knock, knock jokes, a great looking screen very deep blacks And yes, fitness all the way with the zepp app which is actually pretty good included in your viewing screen they have added although you end it manually but still blood pressure great great add on it’s small but powerful. I have the iPhone 13 Pro and I will switch occasionally between my Apple Watch series 7, and the amaze fit active phone calls make them answer phone calls no problem phone list quite a bit there for roughly 159 or so dollars on Amazon and maze fit has been around for quite a while solid product
I've been owing Amazfit GTR mini for 6 months. Buggy software, non-functioning HR monitor (easily shows 120-150 bps in the rest state), buggy GPS tracker (measures incorrect distance when swimming; the bug is being discussed on the Internet for 5 years; support advised me to hold my hand over water when I swim). What remains from a supposed sport watch? Time, timers and GPS tracker on dry land.
Compared to the surprisingly well feature packed Amazfit Balance this watch is a pretty big step backwards. I don't know how anyone at these chinese smart watch brands can think pairing an external heart rate monitor isn't necessary in 2024. This missing feature was the reason number 1 for me switching to a brand that supports this inexpensive and easy to implement feature!
i have the amazfit balance its very good but i do understand it is very feature rich because the price is quite competitive. this watch is targeted to someone who dont do sports that much but still wants an everyday smartwatch. but hey theres always a smartwatch for everyone right!
I have the GTR 4 and for the most part it has done well for tracking, but did have some super weird deviation during my half marathon yesterday. No issues during my big bear, ca ultra though. Weird. I did also have issues/lag with the HR monitor. I picked up the Coros HR Monitor and it has been a lot more consistent and accurate.
Confirm. I rate Amazfit HR monitor from unreliable to non-existent. It makes no sence for amateurs and can be dangerous for professional runners/swimmes.
I was very skeptical of this Amazfit brand until I sold my SE 2nd-gen and bought GTS 3 for 40 EUR from my Telecom provider. And now... I',m wondering do I need a more expensive sports watch? Yes, the GPS and HR monitor aren't the best, but at the end of the 10km the difference between Apple Watch SE 2nd-gen is not so big. Just a couple of meters and 2-3 units of bpm. And a battery for more than a week...
I had the T Rex Pro and I returned it because the stupid thing would count steps when I would move my arms, so every time I would do dishes or work with my hands it would count steps even though I wasn't actually walking lol Garbage watches. Never again.

If it were my money I'd probably take the Amazfit Active over the Polar Unite mainly for the built in GPS and speaker/microphone features.

Can this be an alternative to garmin fr 165? My main goal is accurate hr sensor.
It doesn't work with the Garmin ecosystem but it could be used instead of a 165 sure... The HR sensor is not quite as accurate in my opinion.

@@Raiden19 no it's not, no upgrades, nothing, I only talk by my experience, and I have one. If you can buy a Garmin, maybe a Samsung or like that. Valorize the software , its all that matters
@@antonioleal6046 The Amazfit GTS 4 just got the ZeppOS 3.0 upgrade... Their devices do get upgrades now since last year.
@@antonioleal6046tbh most Chinese software is just stolen from us or Korea anyways... And most watches you buy are made in China anyways so who are you kidding.
The software is actually really good on these new Amazfits. The Balance and Active have come such a long way from the older Bips and such.
