Hello Chuck and Paige. I have been an architect for 43 years and worked in construction for over 50 years. One thing I can tell you is that contractors do not operate on your (or for that matter anyone else’s) schedule or time. Do not expect them to do anything differently and you’ll be a whole lot less frustrated and happier. I think your ideas on the bathroom are good, but I would consider using the kitchen designer to do your bathroom design too. What will determine what could be done in there is how/where your drain/supply lines are laid out and how they go through the flooring and walls. Best practice is to hire design professionals whenever possible. Best of luck as always!
They make there time frame and schedule. I have never expressed a concern on this channel or to the builders on there time frame. Only said the cabinet company can't give a schedule time to install. They say takes 1 day I have my doubts. My mother-in-law is the one patiently waiting a month for the installation. The builder on the bathroom is doing a great job with the architect of the bathroom. @@notime2bsad 1 day to install the cabinets is easily doable, depending on how the cabinets are built (full runs or individual units that have to be put together). Having a fully functioning kitchen with countertops, plumbing and appliances is pushing limits, but I have seen some really phenomenal Thai building crews so it may be possible depending on the size of the crew and their organization.
As an old American I get the gotta git er done mindset. Luckily in the 70's I visited Thailand again and learned sabai sabai and stopped worrying or rushing so much and learned an important life lesson it's 5 o'clock somewhere 🎉 Cheers! Allen

The tradition when someone passes away is different. We mourn as a family and have a funeral to allow the friends to say goodbye. It is fast. Mourning is an individual private affair.
The remodel is close to completion. You are going to need a trip when done to unwind. I am getting excited for you as it is going to be great. Oh...go play Golf!😅

I'm also a semi-private guy; enjoy my alone time to gather my thoughts and reflect on things. That's pretty much the way things are nowadays. In the States, a memorial service is a "celebration of life." The Asian lifestyle is more casual, carefree, less stressful from the Asian frame of mind. It's how "we" roll Chuck; much different from a Western perspective. If I can explain it like this, not allowing negativity into your life and just accepting it as a part of life. easy done, Shower cubical is 900 x 900, the Vanity is available in either 600 or 900, Personally I would have the builders brick / tile a wall divider between the shower space and the vanity, add a 200mm ledge at the front of the shower and install a shower door or screen, and then add a counter top and basin with over head cupboards, this way you could have a much larger shower and a standard vanity / wash basin.
Yep, we made the mistake of the glass shower cabinets, wish we had just stuck with a wall divider 😂.

The amount of space you have access to in the whole property seems to be big Do you and Paige live upstairs and Paige’s mum and dad downstairs in that bdrm? so much space to play with! its fantastic! Cannot wait for the kitchen to be finished! Looking great! 🌸
When we were building our house in Nakhon Phanom we went to Global House to look for glass shower doors for one of our bathrooms. They had the exact size and style we wanted so I asked the staff "to get one for us", he came back after twenty minutes and said "sorry there's none left" ok I said "can you order one please I can wait no problem" Then the manager came after about an hour and said "they've stopped making them" ok "can I buy the one on the shop floor then please" He said "no we need it for the display". You couldn't make it up 555.

I don't think it's anybody business how much you drink. I'm 77 and in my life have had 4 close friends.and 3 of them are dead. I could and did trust them with my life. Everyone else was an acquaintance. These were my brothers. Bound spiritually through 7 years of military service during Vietnam and my closest school friend. There was nothing I wouldn't do for them, and they wouldn't do for me. Even though I have lived in Thailand since 1966 but we communicate daily with WhatsApp.
In the past, when I have mentioned this to people, they say they are sorry for me. I am happy and have never wanted anything more. Our family is close, both here and in the US. life is good. I think we are a lot alike, Chuck. I could not give a flying fig what people think of me. I'm quiet, polite, and not nosy. We were fortunate and traveled extensively until after I retired. Now our health does not permit that but we have no regrets. We are happy in our home in Sattahip and grateful for everything we've experienced. All the best to you, Paige and the famile

Chuck you don’t have everyday “friends”……which is OK. Those kind of friends are a LOT of responsibility, and take a lot of time that’s enjoyment but you’re life is NOT set up that way. You have friends like Joe and Mike, and James, and George (?) and don’t forget your friends that live in Texas, that you stay with when you’re in the U.S. THOSE ARE YOUR FRIENDS……each one of those would go to an extreme for you and Paige if needed. As you would for them. So, you have it perfect, you’re so lucky to have your Mom, not to mention Mafia, Red, and all the Sunday Funday participants!!

i'd go corner sink to the right of the door, toilet about 2 ft. down the right wall...glass shower wall next to the toilet (I go to a budget place in UT next to the bus station that made glass block walls to separate the shower. I'd make the opening for the shower at the opposite wall from the toilet so the toilet/sink area stays mostly dry. But that's just me :P

Hey Chuck and Paige, yeh, that OCD will get you every time in Thailand. It's horrible when you can't stop seeing things that are not organized. My big thing is counting stairs. I know there's 18 of them, but every time I go up them I have to count them. It's silly, but I can't help it. LOL 😂

Then you visit other more relaxed countries and the blood pressure goes through the roof because the urgency isnt there, or the type of food isnt what you are used to.
