i have never used decklists, i do look up synergistic cards though but only started that recently, before i was just scouring card databases. my advice is build everything you play from scratch. this did a better job of teaching me a lot of "whys" and learning allllll the cards
Hey just started standard I'm running the budget defender deck it's fun. One thing (and don't mean to encroach not even a week in but I play some commander irl) one change I made was taking one lay down arms for the legendary in the starting black white deck she doubles triggered abilities for anything power under 2 (Chaplain counts). No wild card and I just had a round where I had over 40 creatures on the board with 6 mana used over the turns.
I usually advise against upgrading decks like these tbh, I personally like to save them up until I have enough to cash them in for a deck I'm interested in. This would be a good one to save up for if you like the control play style: mtgtop8.com/event?e=56064&d=617648&f=ST
18:42 I know you're reanimating here, but it seems wise to just discard the basic land here and save the mangler to play from hand at a later turn since you have 8 mana. You could have even played it the following turn to make him sacrifice the heavy.
I love the UW Defenders deck. I have roughly a 60% win rate with it on Arena's best of 1 Standard Ranked games. Does anyone have any good suggestions for how I can upgrade this deck? I've thought about adding Surge Engine. I'm also not sure if I should stick to 60 cards or use more cards. I'm also curious if anyone has experience using any of these decks in more competitive events with rewards.
Hey Jordan, I think we may have studied abroad together in Shanghai back in 2011. Pretty sure that's where I recognize you from. Hope you're doing well.
Hi ! im start playing and love the U tempo deck, wich sideboard do u recommend me ? i saw the deck page and dont see one, and what i can improve in the deck!? thx a lot!
I don't usually bother with sideboards, I play best of 1 for the most part. For the Mono U deck, swapping the 4 Delvers for 4 Haughty Djinns is an easy change
You need to sort the cards by "uncollected" and also format, Standard, Alchemy, Historic. Not all cards show up in all formats. Only the formats in which they are legal.
I would play 1 or 2 Atraxa, Grand Unifier as a really high-end reanimation target, and Virtue of Persistence should slot right in as well. Glad you're having fun with it!
No rares is not budget imo. if you only have commons and uncommons. its actually harder to get than if you have 4 rares and 4 mythics in there. since you get about 1-2 rares a week. due to opening packs by doing the daily quests using the starter decks in the starter deck event. Currently I'm struggling more with collecting uncommons than I struggle with rares in my decks.
just keep playing if you dont have the things you need. playing in events once you are better or to get better is a good way to fasttrack your skills, and then once you start winning them, you'll get a lot of packs
@@jacksonwrench6848 Definately. With a card pool ranging over 20k+ cards, a ton of card mechanics, a ton of different formats; I'd say it definately is complex. This isn't Marvel Snap, it's definately complex with a steep learning curve. But it's good, I really like it and I'm enjoying it. I'm only Platinum rank but I just started about 3 weeks ago. It's most definately complex and I'm sure most people would agree, even veterans I'm sure would recognize that this game boasts a high hill to climb before you can comfortably say that you know your shit when it comes to this game.
CC, you’re doing so much work for the budget players, thank you so much!
Thank you, I appreciate you always tuning in!

Thank you so much for this video. It's a boon for newer players who don't have the collection that some vets do.

awesome video, i hope you do a new one for the new standard rotation
Hello, 1:14, both effects affect the same layer so the last one entering the battlefield aplies. What rank are you playing?
Great content. But please, change how you're doing your voice overs. The VO track is just on the edge of clipping the entirety of the video.
Such a great and helpful video. Thank you so much!
I reached platinum 3 mostly thanks to your budget decks
That Defender deck, what would be some solid up grades to it? I love the play style and I’m not much of a deck builder, I’m learning through you guys

This is super helpful for me as a new player. Do you have a discord channel that goes over these topics? I’d love a chance to pick your brain
Not yet, definitely a good idea to consider, glad you're enjoying the videos

OH, I also like the decks!

Holy smokes!!!! We did. I thought you looked familiar.
Can never go wrong with blue tempo.

why do some of these not appear in my search feature, for example DUSK MANGLER. I can't find him nor can I craft him. What causes that?

I love the Reanimate deck. TYSM! I have rare wildcards are there any upgrades you would recommend for this one?

what rares would you add to this deck
Which format are you playing on? Alchemy?
Best of 1 Standard
Obrigado !!
Thanks
"NO RARES!..."
...
"For this deck, you'll need the following rares..."
anvil kinda sucks but the aggro tempo and boros humans was good

Waste of money it is not your skill that wins you game. It is the the system that lets you win
It is very rigged.
Man, this game is complex... jeez.
Not at all

it looks complex. it really isnt. it really grows on you as you play.
@@jacksonwrench6848 yes, thats why its called the most complex card game in the world.
