Have the Leafs ever actually been the better team in those other series? This Bruins team is poo compared to a few years back. There is only like 3 players that will be playing that were any part of that pain.

@@paddy160160 As a non- Leaf fan that watches a lot of hockey , I knew that if they started Woll, they could turn it around. I wrote it on one of their videos where they were talking about trades and coaching changes after game 4. The people you call " hockey journalists" are not journalists. Journalists do not let their emotions blind them. Bourne and Sammy are just glorified fans with a podcast.
Last night on Leafs Talk, when JB said he lost on his under bet on that .1 sec left goal. And STILL had that take about not having the shutout held over, no pressure for that... Top tier, sir.

game 6 the last face off when boston scored with .1 sec left where boston tried to bully and intimidate snd the leafs was not going to have that and pushed back..I LOVE THAT! that is what you want. you want that grit heart and passion in playoff hockey.

First time I ever seen the Leafs play playoff Hockey. Impressive!
Kyper is right when he's saying Keefe has the team buying into a more defensive strategy. It's exactly the type of style you need to play if you want to go all the way. This is the exact same change that Washington made the year they won the Stanley Cup. Ovie and the teams point production dropped drastically that season but they were better overall team for it. Hopefully it's not too little too late for this team.

2 best coaches in the league in tocc and brunette and we hear the experts talking year after year that the winner takes the other teams time and space away. well these 2 teams are smothering each other. pettersson has had a huge drop off in performance since the all star break and that's the difference in this series. this was a 4 game series for vancouver if pettersson was playing the way he has all last year and the first half of this season.
At about 36 min mark they're talking about Auston only being used on the PP. If memory serves me right, I think Detroit once used Shanahan like that. He was hurt, leg maybe? Not sure. But I don't think he was playing reg shifts, and he had a great shot so they trotted him out on the PP at point to try and squeeze any juice they could out of him. Not ideal, but any advantage you can get is potentially useful right?
Finally. We're STARTING to see a team that we SHOULD have seen a long time ago: an offensive team playing in a more defensive way. Defense FIRST, not offense at all costs!
They're still making mistakes; particularly in terms of playing the puck in their own zone as if it's the offensive zone. STOP THIS!!! When the puck is in your own zone after a good chance by Boston - SHOOT IT OUT! Stop passing to a guy who's covered; stop throwing it into corners.
Finally: powerplay - switch it up! Heavy, beefy guys driving into the zone, slam into the guy in front of you, and put the same beefy guys in front of the damn net! Scramble, outmuscle them, get Sweyman down on a rebound and/or deflections. Put your stars at point and shoot on net from the blue line, and get ready for the rebound!

Typically agree with you JB, but on the point about effort and accountability JB, Kyp is right. They’ve never EVER played as if they care as much about keeping the puck out of their net as scoring. I have literally never seen this group play, for 60 mins, as if they understood they can’t take a single shift off if they want to win. These past two games is the first time in the entire core 4 era. Looks good. It’s what’s required. It’s what they’re paid for, but will they keep it up? I bet no. They will fold again. Because that’s what they do. Lose. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think I am.

Game 7 is different. Game 5 or 6 is just different. Game 7 can go either way. Toronto couldve just spent all their energy getting to 7, now all the pressure is on them.

46:26 Cutline has to be stanley cup or bust. Anything less, you can't dial it back, whatever progress they may make, if it's not Lord Stanley you must make at least coaching changes, and by that I mean a proven coach with previous playoff success.

In the last 2 games, the leafs won by committee. That's something we've never seen before and could be the signs of something great (if they stick with it).

The Leafs Core 4 have been desperate - after almost a decade of playoff disappointments. Is another game 7 third period collapse coming again? 😀Great to see the Leaf home win. Maybe this year the Leafs will come out on top of any collapse? Matthews is just not a playoff super star - he just never was except maybe game #2?
The leafs played great team D, kept the bruins out of the slot, limiting opportunities, the out skated them, the bruins will lose game 7 if they don't snap out of it and create offense. Looks very similar to last year. Hockey psychology 101.

Idk if Kyp trying to argue that Marners numbers are down because he’s “eliminating Marchand” is funnier because he’s only been matched up against that line for 1 game or because Marchand has the most points in the series and is producing far above his regular season numbers. Either way, doesn’t reflect great 😂😂
not just Marchand, Mitch plays defence first, he always gets back, he play PK, he is a real two way player
@@jimbeaver27 that would make him a one way player at this point, and playing that way isn’t what gets guys that contract. He needs to be better, it’s not too much to ask for him to play great defense and still produce. Barkov is better than him at both ends in FL and getting paid much less for it

First, the Bruins don't stand a chance to win the cup. Florida would destroy them in round two. Second, Montgomery caused game 5 losses two straight years with his constant line mixing. Twice he's up 3-1 and thinks to himself "We're doing really well, I have a great idea, let's change the lines around!". Please Leafs, win tomorrow. Do the Bruins a solid and help get rid of Montgomery. He's gotta go.

To think< Florida did it to Boston and rolled over the Leafs. If the Leafs win game seven and head to Florida they might just give it to the Panthers like they did to the Leafs last time, The Leafs are a way tougher team than last year. Keep Reeves in the lineup.
Toronto could arguably have beaten florida last year, but bobrovsky was playing out of his mind. Toronto is much tougher this year and has more depth. Assuming they beat boston, they might have a chance..

They are winning in large part due to Joe Woll - If no Joe Woll, Bruins have already won this series...andthe coachingstaffwas forced into a corner before they started Woll - who is clearly the better goalie- as Steve Valiquette explained on your own show.. It was ineptitude on behalf of the coaching staff that got them into the corner..Justin Bourne is really clueless on his analysis of the Leafs.
