They must hand boat licenses out like crazy in Miami.! You rarely see shit like this in Australia, and if your struggling someone random will always be helpful and show you how it’s done
Believe it or not, here in Florida there are no boat licenses. Only a boating safety course required to be passed if you were born after 1988. There’s your explanation lol
You need a certificate to operate a PWC otherwise you can buy a 1000 hp boat and take off for the horizon. If you take the safety course from the US Power Squadron or Coast Guard Auxiliary you get a thorough 2 day introduction, if you take the course at a yacht club you may not get the same thoroughness. In NY we get a cool anchor symbol on our driving license to show we passed.
When I was younger my friends and I would go down to the harbor to watch people launch their boats. I actually saw a guy with a 15' Whaler disconnect at the top of the ramp and attempt to walk the trailer down. Boat and trailer went into the water, nobody tried to stop him. I think they just wanted to see him make a fool of himself.
'quality family time is what he said' 🤣 also he: 'i can't see the fucking trailer! The cross wind is ruining everything! Don't tell me how to drive dammit!' 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It is truly amazing how you always seem to catch the very first time people have tried to back their trailers down the ramp, or dock their boat and retrailer it...I would not believe the number of first timers if it were not on video...
Another "interesting " video. It's hard to believe you keep finding these people every day. I know that if I'm laughing my butt off sitting on the couch then you must be turning flips filming these in person. Keep up the good work. 👍
If you ever want to watch a boring day at the boat ramps head to a public ramp on the Mississippi River. You gotta be good to unload/load a boat in a strong current.
Lotta people have some pretty strange theories about physics. Hats off to wifey saving everybody on the ramp lots of grief and anxiety! Maybe she'll take hubby to a parking lot somewhere and learn him a thing or two about trailering?
I miss my time on the Water, dont miss the clueless Boaters @ the ramp. Surprised I watched the whole thing, its comical when your not worried about missing Tide & that precious window of opportunity. 😁

Only showing a 50 second clip of one of the coolest old Wooden Boats on the water speaks volumes to this channel. The criticism on each an every moment of a launch and load is educational. It's interesting that the expert behind the constant criticism rarely offers the correction of who has the right of way. Never a how to or what to do when. Fear of subscriber jumping ship.
I hope that the goverment or privates in my country (Chile) start building more public boat ramps like the ones in your videos, here in the entire coast there must be hardly 10 public ramps, and most of them are situated in the southern part of the country (The patagonia), and there´s som much potential that its just a shame
It's probably the dudes who got stuck on the sandbar, the dude in the f 250 who doesn't know how to communicate to his wife, and the guy that can't back his trailer in to the water 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thumbs down from me was because he calls them "crew" and "captain" a Captain is a title given to someone licensed to be a captain and as for crew, I'm not a crew member when I am a guest on a friends or family members boat. Your boat you are going to be doing lines etc. I'm not taking any responsibility over your boat.
I went to Lake Conroe yesterday, I was in and out at the ramp with 0 issues! Even docked for lunch at willies, but then again I’ve been doing this since I was 10, 24 years ago.
I may or may not have ran a 1968 38' wooded pacer yacht onto a sandbar. * It was a free boat, so the total of $16,000 for unsinking/tow/and crane rental to get it out of the water wasn't bad.
Yes. That happened. Yes.. after a night of not sleeping and filling cracks with toilet wax rings and 3m marine sealant coated twine.. I had to keep it afloat for 72 hours before the coast guard would allow it to be towed across the shipping lane.. And yes. The 2 gas water pumps and the generator that powered the 2 electric water pumps ran out of gas at different times so I stayed away for 4 days and had to deal with the coast guard with crackhead like, sleep depravation. Note: moved to the Appalachian mountains shortly after to avoid the temptations of owning another boat.👍
Quick poll: Who gets frustrated watching these videos and who thinks it's funny? Also, what kinda thing is that first little boat? Thanks a million for sharing man.
Serious question : Im new to this channel. I've been on boats when I was younger as a passenger only so please excuse my lack of expertise on this subject, but why don't boaters use bumpers when docking more often? Especially if they know how it can be so tricky at times. I would put down bumpers for both my boat and others boats just in case things got difficult for me and not worry about damage.
Often at boat ramps the floats will have some kind of bumper built in so that is one less thing for a stressed-out captain to worry about. Personally I always use my fenders since I prefer classic boats that are easily damaged.
I’m thinking about purchasing perhaps I’m the next 9-12 months. I have no boating experience, any recommendations on where I can learn / get any license if required. Boating schools?
That last guy seemed to have trouble understanding the principles of maneuvering a boat powered by an outboard, and also trouble understanding the difference between reverse and forward.
It's good to see wood in contrast to all the fibreglass boats around it. Just to remind us all of the past. It seems like the captain has been around the water for much of his life.
Probably all of them have depth sounders to tell you how deep the water is beneath the boat but to see yourself coming up to a sandbar you need forward looking sonar which most boats do not have. I think most of the boaters that get stuck are just cutting off the channel markers to try to save a quarter mile.
I was thinking; man! Leave this guy alone...good for him for actually having fenders out. Then he approached the dock.... with the wind and current helping him....and he still completely messed it up. Man! All he had to do was put it between the uprights and let the wind do the rest. smh.....
Wanted to see more of that old man's cool little boat. lol
Probably built it himself.
Me too! Lol
Same.
Yea man wtf.
Was expecting Gilligan to show up. Hahaha!
You need to put some hidden microphones on the docks so that we can hear what they are saying. That would bring this channel to the next level.
That would be totally funny and legal, but also unethical on every level. Technology can help us or hurt us, the choice is ours.
yeah and the guy who commentates talks WAYYYY TOO MUCH.
Dudes wife was pissed. Then showed that guy how it is done. I tip my hat to you, ma'am.
