From these three years, in my perspective a lot has changed - not just technique, but I think the meaning behind how I play the notes have improved a bit also, and I’m really proud of it! I think I can really feel how your emotions and meaning has changed in playing this song as you commented; while Animenz's cover shows a lot of cool classical techniques and is incredibly intense, you don't lose at all. You went a little slower than he did, and that allowed you to express the significance of the song and lyrics of the emotions. At that middle segway, I can feel the raw emotion bubbling inside until you let it come forth and burst into a fortissimo at the right timing. Your version is maybe not as much compacted action, but more like a story of the pain building up inside being let out.

One of my resolutions for 2017 was to master Animenz's rendition of Unravel. After about sixth months of arduous practice, I realized it was something I could not achieve at my current level. At the time, I had barely passed my ABRSM 6 exam, and figured my lack of skill was a suitable reason to simply give up. Fast forward to October when you posted this, and I resolved to master this piece. It's December 31st, 6:49 PM, and I can proudly say that I can play this piece, albeit a bit choppy. Thank you for inspiring me once more to push my limits.

I've been watching Theishter for around 3-5 years now. I really love the passion that is evident in his all of his works. Thanks for making me inspired and re-lighting the passion that I had for piano. Long story short, I started playing piano in 4th grade and I really didn't enjoying playing piano so I quit a year after. In 6th grade I discovered this channel and immediately I was dumbfounded with how much emotions that were conveyed. I picked up piano again in 7th grade and in 10th grade, I'm still playing. Wow! It's amazing how you can really notice the different between the 2017 version and 2014 one. you've definitely tell that you have refined your skills a lot these past few years. I really love your previous one a lot due to its more rougher tone which I believe suits the anime theme. However, this one is a lot more refined but feels more complex on multiple levels which speaks more to me. I really love both of these versions. Thank you for sharing and keep on doing what you do :D

Absolutely fantastic... it captured the sorrow of the song amazingly. I feel like this version captures the despair the best while animenz captures the anguished agony of it.

Whenever I somehow miss the motivation to practice piano I listen to your and Animenz's songs and I think "Damn I want to play those songs too", "damn I also want to do my own arrangements even they might never be the same level" and then I get going again. This has already worked so many times it feels like a miracle. You guys are really inspiring, thank you for your great work!
Felt like some notes were not where they were supposed to be, slightly offbeat. Now before all the comment section takes a shit on me i will say that i perfectly understand that it was probably intended. But still, this OP is to me, one of the closest pieces of art close to absolute perfection (you don't have to comment on this that's just how i feel) and I'm quite bothered by the way you play some of it. examples: 00:30 ; 02:38 Don't get me wrong tho, those piano playing skills are quite unbelievable and i don't know shit about playing piano myself.
As a pianist of 7+ years I can tell you that often when you play a song on piano (that was not originally on piano) it sounds weird/ slightly off compared to the original. However Theishter is one of the few channels -if not only- that covers this song in a way that isn't grating and doesn't drastically change the overall tones, it's incredible. Not shitting on your opinion btw, just disagreeing.

But this cover brought out much more emotion and such a deeper connection with the meaning of the song and the story. Thanks for making me inspired and re-lighting the passion that I had for piano. Long story short, I started playing piano in 4th grade and I really didn't enjoying playing piano so I quit a year after. In 6th grade I discovered this channel and immediately I was dumbfounded with how much emotions that were conveyed. I picked up piano again in 7th grade and in 10th grade, I'm still playing. The reason I watch you instead of other piano covers you is because you put so much soul into it. You make the piano sound full of emotion, it's just plain technique.

Wow! It's amazing how you can really notice the different between the 2017 version and 2014 one. you've definitely tell that you have refined your skills a lot these past few years.
I really love your previous one a lot due to its more rougher tone which I believe suits the anime theme. However, this one is a lot more refined but feels more complex on multiple levels which speaks more to me. I really love both of these versions. Thank you for sharing and keep on doing what you do :D

Absolutely fantastic... it captured the sorrow of the song amazingly. I feel like this version captures the despair the best while animenz captures the anguished agony of it.

Whenever I somehow miss the motivation to practice piano I listen to your and Animenz's songs and I think "Damn I want to play those songs too", "damn I also want to do my own arrangements even they might never be the same level" and then I get going again. This has already worked so many times it feels like a miracle. You guys are really inspiring, thank you for your great work!
Felt like some notes were not where they were supposed to be, slightly offbeat.
Now before all the comment section takes a shit on me i will say that i perfectly understand that it was probably intended.
But still, this OP is to me, one of the closest pieces of art close to absolute perfection (you don't have to comment on this that's just how i feel) and I'm quite bothered by the way you play some of it. examples: 00:30 ; 02:38
Don't get me wrong tho, those piano playing skills are quite unbelievable and i don't know shit about playing piano myself.
As a pianist of 7+ years I can tell you that often when you play a song on piano (that was not originally on piano) it sounds weird/ slightly off compared to the original. However Theishter is one of the few channels -if not only- that covers this song in a way that isn't grating and doesn't drastically change the overall tones, it's incredible. Not shitting on your opinion btw, just disagreeing.

That was so beautiful!!! The first cover made my heart race in excitement at the music moving up and down so quickly and dramatically. But this cover brought out much more emotion and such a deeper connection with the meaning of the song and the story. Both of these covers are my favorite covers of all time and I love and enjoy them with all my heart. A big thank you to everyone who had a part in this.
