    Hugh, you do a wonderful job with these interviews. I like how you interact with the pianists you interview, you you get insights into what's most prominent that goes into their not only playing, but conceptions of playing. Bravo.
    So, early impressions can lead to music become someone's food. Here the parents exposure to complex music early on strongly influenced the direction in Ben-Salem's life toward music.
    Ben-Salem's Rachmaninov is deeply felt and unfolds so progressively. A great study in dynamic control and singing lyricism. The bigger sections remain lyrical, musical lines remain clear. Just so colorful. Just, "delicious."
    I also like that you name the piano technicians. They are an underrated part of what a piano sounds like beyond a particular brand's signature sounds.
