Sun City CA | A 5 Minute Tour
Hey everybody, it's Kyle Winn. Today we are in the beautiful community of Sun City. I'm extremely excited to show you around this little hidden gem. Now, if you don't know where Sun City is, or maybe you've never even heard of it, we're right here in the city of Menifee, right next to the 215 Freeway off of McCall Boulevard. It was designed as a retirement community with the intent of providing an active and social lifestyle for our 55 and over population. Construction here in Sun City really started in the early 1960s. And most of what you see built out today was built throughout the 1960s and the 1970s. Now, originally, Sun City was a census designated place right here in Riverside County, but it became a community of Menifee when the city of Menifee was incorporated in 2008. Now there is an HOA here called the Sun City Civic Association, but they provide many great amenities, including swimming pools and an amphitheater, as well as many outdoor games, clubs, and event centers all right here in Sun City. You'll find many different housing options here in Sun City from single family detached homes to multi-family style living as well. In addition, you'll see manufactured home parks and even an assisted care living facility here in Sun City. But some of my favorite are the homes located right on the Par 72 Cherry Hills Golf Course. Although much of Sun City was built in the 1960s and the 1970s, they still do continue to add modern conveniences like the Sun City Library, as well as the Fire Station just across the street. Now here at the Cherry Hills Plaza, you'll find everything you need. You're going to find some great locally owned restaurants, as well as many small businesses offering everything you can need from financial services to health services and everything in between.

@@KyleWinn I would want to see like the McDonald’s, Castanedas, some new retail coming soon in the Cherry Hills plaza, some new restaurants coming soon stuff like that. I’ve heard that Black Bear Diner is coming soon to occupy the abandoned Cocos this summer.

There are different HOAs in that area including Sun City Civic, which is the big one. Each HOA is a little bit different. Do you happen to know which one you're curious about?

A 55+ community of Menifee. I tried to find a place there but it’s all 55+. However, when I retired and left back in June, I went back to the east coast. Much better.

I'm glad you found a place you enjoy. You are correct that the majority of Sun City is 55+ but there are subdivisions without age restrictions.

Sun City has never developed...Lots of homeless.....Golf course is gone.......lots of traffic......only one access to 15 Freeway....lots of Fast food joints........not far from the town of Menifee where there is shopping, dining, medical etc. Most houses were built 40 plus years ago. Several section 8 apartments. I own property in Sun City so, I can tell you how it really is....

I believe they should demolish that land where the Vons, Starer Bros., Walgreens, Rite Aid, Castanedas, US Bank and all and just rebuild it to make it one full shopping center like it is over there in Menifee.
