This is a step by step instruction on how to share steam library with friends. This is valid for iPhone models 8, X, XS, 11, 12, 13, 14 or higher with iOS 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12 and earlier. This is valid for Huawei, Samsung, Google Pixel, Xiaomi and other phones running Android version 11, 12, 13, 14. This is valid for Windows 7, 8, 10, 11. This is valid for Mac.

when i go to the steam guard page the get steam codes by email doesn't exist. All I have is the remove steam guard authenticator, get backup steam guard codes and your steam authorized devices buttons. thats it! What do I do?
We tried this, but not matter what we do, the family share never worked for my account. And now that I have a new pc and absolutely NO access to my brother's account on there, we need to know how I can get family sharing on two separate devices, or authorize my pc to play his games.
I bought a key on G2A for the game called Automation, and it made a separate Steam account with the game on it, and with this method you don't have to go to the account every time. Thanks! (Sorry if my English is bad)
help library sharing is on but instead of letting me play the shared games it says "purchase"
For those of you who are still confused, here is the short explanation:
-Log in to your Steam account on another laptop/PC and turn on the "authorize library sharing on this device" toggle
-Select your family members steam accounts name below.
-then, logout your steam account from your family members laptop/PC, let your family members login to their steam account again.
-Voila!, Your family members can see your game library, your games will appear and can be seen at their library.
The point is, you must turn on the "authorize library sharing on this device" toggle when you login to your steam account on your family members laptop/PC.

So basically, game sharing does not work like gamepass game sharing? For example, my wife and I are able to play gamepass games together on seperate systems but on one account at the (same) time. My understanding is that this is not possible with steam?

It says u have to repurchase the game (red dead 2 and gta 5) but other games are fine

That's not what this is for, you can't both play a game together that you only paid for one copy of unfortunately
what happens if i log my brothers acc on my pc then borrow it from my pc then can he play it from his pc?
If you delete your the steam account that originally owed all the games, but is sharing them, do the games and game save data go to the accounts you shared it with?
No , if you delete original account you won't be able to play the games anymore.
neither the manage family library sharing thing or authorize library sharing switch is appearing in the family tab, only the family view thing, I did everything the video said to can you please help with this, there is one family member do I need to add more?

I made this tutorial of yours, but when I enter my son's pc (steam), my games that are on my pc (steam), do not appear there in his steam, could it be that I did something wrong?

Some of the games are not meant to be shared with Family. But in any case I would suggest to contact support. They reply relatively fast . Let me know when you fix the issue.
You have to login with your account into your son's pc so those games that your not downloaded will appear on you account...
and then you can borrow them but still there is some games doesn't have the borrow feature
i cant get the game i tried downloading from frends librery and did what you told in the vid its not working the game says purches
From the Steam Settings panel select the Family tab . Here you can select users who have also logged into this computer to share your library with. Click the "Authorize Library Sharing on this device" switch. Check the box next the account you'd like to share your Library with.

If the main account holder goes online* as in if they start playing that game?
Or start playing any game on their library?
what about vac bans? will it be transferred to the other accounts if one has a vac ban?

@@Siluetta2O classic troll. I contacted steam support and they were very nice. They explained me to how vacs work. They told me it's not transferable if during the ban given was when I had family sharing on.
I got my vac long before family sharing existed so I'm good. If Ur curious,my ban was given due mu brother using my account..I take responsibility for it. Haven't cheated nor scam.cheers

If you enable Family share, then you cannot choose which data is shared or not
sorry im a bit confused so let me make sure im understanding this correctly my friend wants to use my library so i need to log in with their account on my pc or do they log in with my account on their pc again my friend wants to borrow my games.
basically you log in both accounts on the PC you want to play games on. so if your friends want to play your games on their PC just log in your account on their PC

What if i want to buy a dlc from my account for a game that i don’t have but i’m playing with the family mode? I can play the game with dlc from my account without having the game or i need to buy from the account that have purchased the game?

Family Sharing allows family members to share games while keeping their accounts separate. Family and guests can play one another's games while earning their own Steam achievements and saving their own game progress to the Steam Cloud. It works by granting family members access to games on a shared computer.
Been looking at several of these videos. If I share CP2077 with my GF and I want to play CS2 can she play CP2077 while I play CS2? She will be on her PC and I will be on mine in two different rooms 2 different steam accounts, shared. Does this work? Yeah, I get if I wanted to play CP2077 she couldn't but I'm done with that game and still would like her to play 2077, while I play other stuff.

Some of the games does not support Family share. If you have this kind of problem you can check with Discord support
