The Capcom Five: When Video Game Exclusivity Fails
Вставка

- The Nintendo GameCube was launched to a fairly muted reception and it failed to make huge inroads in the video game console market in the early 2000s. Capcom made Nintendo a deal it could never refuse, five games designed to improve the GameCube's fortunes, with one of them being an exclusive system seller. What went wrong?
Also, I apologise for the lack of uploads recently. I've been going through some awful stuff in my life lately and it's made working on videos a bit harder to do. I hope to be more consistent in the coming months ahead.

I mean Nintendo basically tried to steal established franchises from another platform and it backfired. Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid. It was similar to what happened to Microsoft and Tomb Raider. It was like they thought the dirty tactics they did in the NES days would work again.
yo is that persona from morgana
PNO 3 early concepts were later taken and used in Vanquish. I remember seeing pno3 in game informer issues. It was supposed to be a lot faster.
Ah the capcom 5. Nintendos innovation and fingers lost during the flame wars of that generation of consoles.
NEW ZERODRAG BANGER
LETS GOOOOOOOOO
I don't know why Capcom thought putting all their major RE games only on GameCube was a good idea. A franchise that had it's start on Playstation.
It was mainly Mikami's decision, PS2 proved to be far more difficult to develop for compared to the other 6th gen consoles. You'd need time to get the most out of the EE chip at least. Needless to say the failure of the Capcom Five is the reason why Capcom is usually very hesitant with console exclusives for most games.
@ZerodragYT yeah that's true, GameCube in general was a failure of a console when it came to sales so no surprise the games failed in terms of sales
Well. *I* bought a GameCube to play REmake. And it wouldn't have been what it was on PS2. GameCube was also a better party/multiplayer machine.
Same can be said with other franchises that made their debut on Nintendo consoles like mega man, final fantasy, Castlevania…
FF7 is the most famous one solely because of Nintendo's choice of storage, a huge own goal. Thankfully Nintendo now commands strong third party support with the Switch and if their new hires are anything to go by, Switch 2 will be even better
Yes a new video
