GianFranco Ferre For Man is definitely a grown man scent. Got a couple minis in today and I absolutely love it. Wish it was alittle bit more stronger but I suspect people can still smell me.
@@RamseytheRam Absolutely, I've never smelled anything like this before. I have to over load on the sprays, so I can get that strong scent I'm looking for but I'm absolutely loving this fragrance. I'm that guy at work that everyone can smell. Total vintage head like you. The older ladies kinda give me that look, if you know what I mean. Wink, wink lol
Yes!! Another ranked year video! Glad to already have the top 6 as they are all excellent! 7-10 are already on my get list for the coming months. Glad to have you back, buddy! ❤
What an awesome video and year! Every time I smell teatro alla scala I almost don’t believe this thing even exists that’s how good it is.absolutely wonderful picks mate
Living in Poland at the time, I actually got a bit of that radioactive fallout from Chernobyl. Could explain my superpowers. 🦹 And thinning hair. 😢 Your top 3 plus Obsession, Xeryus and Sport de Paco Rabanne big hits for me. Yet to try that Sport flanker of Kouros that came out that year too. Any flanker of Kouros actually. 😕 What we need is an 80s revival. 😂
K.L. HOMME was my signature scent for years until the bastards discontinued it. Been searching for a replacement ever since and have been alternating between Chanel's Coromandel, YSL's Babycat and Xerjoff's Richwood and Mamluk.
My shaker bottle of Bel Ami finally made it through the abyss that was the shipping company. Even after a lost/stolen claim was created. Miracles. Great video per usual, Ram.
hey mate, great selection of timeless scents there! i was wondering, would you say that 2011 Bel Ami (the first reformulation, broad shoulder bottle that came after shaker one) is still considered vintage and worth buying? I have 2002 and 2005 and have an opportunity to buy one from 2011, but unsure if it was reformulated again by that time or not.
@@RamseytheRam it certainly is! i'm just not sure if there were any reformulations the span of that second bottle, e.g. is early 2000s and late 2000s the same :) Was lurking Basenotes for a while, and vast majority of folks there are positive that any Bel Ami you buy before 2014 (new bottle and apparently second (?) reformulation) is wonderful.
@@RamseytheRam how do you find shaker and first reform differ performance wise? Any significant variations? Some say shaker is stronger, some state otherwise so i'm kind of lost here haha
The way I see it the shaker bottle is "rougher" and the 1st reform seems like some of those sharp edges were rounded out... I love them both and they both last forever IMHO
I watched some of your lives and heard you discussed about Scherrer 2. Got very intrigued. So I went and blind bought it cuz of your opinion... WOW! It cost me like 20 USD and smells like it could cost waaaaay more! Also, not suprise to see Shalimar EDP there! It's that good!
Have you tried bowling green yet? Johanna sent me a sample of the vintage edc and the more modern edt. The original is amazing. The new one is great but they toned downed the grassy herby thing and added a hint of drakkar or lomani to it. I prefer the original edc. Love it
Two months ago I was in an Hermes store and briefly sniffed the atomizer of Bel Ami and instantly fell in love. I didn't even have to spray it; I just knew "holy hell, oh yeah." But I didn't buy that bottle; I went and sourced a second formulation bottle (post-shaker, but not the new stuff) 👍How the f did I not know about this fragrance until just now? too busy with Polo Green I guess, haha.
I JUST purchased a 100ml shaker for UNDER $200... Really lucked out... I have to mention because you brought up the color of the juice on a number of these-- a LOT of 80s juice used artificial coloring (for SURE Karl Lagerfeld and Calvin Klein scents from that time all used colorants)... If you have the boxes for some you'll notice it... I've got vintage Diva extrait and EDP and BOTH are artificially colored... Versace Blonde extrait is colored... I was pretty bummed to discover just how many perfumes (even quality ones but especially from that time period) were artificially colored... Now off to hunt for mcm...!!
i have a ck cosmetics version of obsession coming tomorrow....i knew going into it that people say even by the early 90s it had its first reformulation. but to be honest....putting it alongside other coty crap they destroyed...i dont even hate the coty one, and ive had it and worn it since before i even got into fragrance. so even that lesser ck cosmetics version really excites me haha. plus i got a 4 oz for like 40 bucks so im sure it will be worth it either way.
@@RamseytheRam By the way, I remember way back that you got a bottle of Obsession for Women but it was skunked. I encourage you to give it another shot, because that shit is amazing! It's like....classy Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Two 1986 released drugstore cheapies McGregor and Brut Musk had incredible quality back then. Better than most crap designers today. McGregor and Brut Musk was what blue collar dad's smelled like back then.
Armondo, thanks to you and Ramsey for the guidance on Obsession for men Cologne Spray!! Another 80's banger, rocking it today on Mothers Day like it's 1986..It's a love for me, its of my time, so glad to have found the Cologne spray,
1986 Extra: Wrestling - The Road Warriors fought the Midnight Express at NWA's Starcade '86. Dubbed "Night of the Skywalkers" as the match involved fighting atop a 20ft scaffold above the ring.
What's happening Ramsey. I took many chance and trying to get off of my disability check so I bought 50 pounds of jewelry. Jewelry jars 4 to 7 pounds a piece and a few 15 pound boxes 52 pounds total. I hope I make my money back lol. I thought I'd take it over to my Mother's house on Mother's day and surprise her with a pound lol
I'm 1000 percent agree with you about you've said that any fragrance is like time machine ❤👏 There's no better way to remember or feel the atmosphere of any time than to smell it's fragrances or hear music
Ramsey did you see that Roja is putting an Elysium eau Intense? What you said about a lot of these big houses lacking creativity and integrity is becoming reality more and more as time passes

Its such a great value for money perfume... congrats 🥳
@@RamseytheRam Got it in today, and I'm getting heavy Prin Mandodari vibes from this

This hour flew by 👏. So many gems... Ferre For Man and Kipling my favourites out of the bunch. Marbert Gentleman is a ghost nowadays.
