It actually has a second part with a, I guess, 7 hour long continuation. But since most of the core features are on the first video, it may be enough to create a base for Godot
Amazing tutorial, learned the basics quickly and everything was explained simply. Also really loved the little "tasks" throughout the video, where I could actually learn what I was watching.
The brackeys tutorial has several issues, mostly in how he sets up his node structures and code. It is not extendable and can lead to bugs. As a beginner tutorial it can teach you godot, but it's not enough on its own. It makes sense that is not done in the best/most optimal way because it's meant to teach, and it would otherwise confuse new users. So in short: it's a good start, but you need to keep learning from there and understand that it's not perfect.
In my opinion I like the Godotneers channel which helped me learn GDScript and GodotTutorials GDScript fundamentals which is also really good. Also ClearCode’s ultimate introduction to Godot 4 which is the best video that covers nearly everything in Godot but doesn’t go as in depth as other tutorials.
Awesome content! I'm also new to Game Dev, had a nice game idea for over a year, and decided to finally learn game dev. I tried the brackets tutorial, but it seems to be for people who are already familiar with game engines. I'm planning to take an udemy course
Godotneers does the best, with "from amateur to better" approach. I like that he is doing things, then "no, that's bad, let's make that better" and show how to
Thank you for this summary. I have been thinking of moving out Unity (as I learned a lot, when I felt ready to create a game, BAM unity new terms). Thinking of moving to Godot, and this was helpful.
Your commentary would sound a lot better if you didn't end almost every sentence as a question. That aside, thank you. I'm a newb to godot and any info about good tutorials is awesome.
@@JoeCoup1 Keep it up. Looking forward to more content. Thank you for being kool about it. Nowadays people usually get offended and stupid when they receive some criticism. Glad you didn't.
A very good tutorial is from clear clode the ultimate introduction to godot of 11 hour
It actually has a second part with a, I guess, 7 hour long continuation. But since most of the core features are on the first video, it may be enough to create a base for Godot
That one looked good but I had limited time with my job
@JoeCoup1 that tutorial teaches everything and explains everything properly throughout the tutorial you should give it a watch
Probably will! :)

I’ll have to check them out :)
Honestly Heartbeast is still my goat. If his old top down tutorials were in Godot 4, they'd be the best
I agree I love heartbeast videos
heartbeast is how i got into it. excellent material, and friendly people in that little community.
no way its bitlytic
Mizziziz + reading the docs is what worked for me. All the other videos felt too long winded
Yeah the docs are great, especially if you have experience in other programming languages
I think its awesome you provided a list of everything contained in each tutorial. To me, thats useful 🎉
Thank you :) I thought that would be useful

Great! Keep me up to date on your progress on the game :). Just whatever you do make sure to stick to it

I like that he is doing things, then "no, that's bad, let's make that better" and show how to
He shows common mistakes and fixes them? Or does he just code and makes mistakes, then after the fact fixes them?
@@JoeCoup1 yes
@@JoeCoup1 Just joking. He makes mistakes intentionally i think, to show how it is wrong to do and how it can be fixed
@@dznshfvt oh! That sounds good :)
bro poor brackeys just made two tutorials 💀
He needs to make more :)
If you’re never satisfied by the videos you’re learning from, you should probably make your own
I’m satisfied with these tutorials like everything they have their pros and cons
Thank you for this summary. I have been thinking of moving out Unity (as I learned a lot, when I felt ready to create a game, BAM unity new terms). Thinking of moving to Godot, and this was helpful.
Godot is really nice, I would recommend

Do you mean the tone of my voice? I can see what you mean if it’s that, I am tending to sound like I’m asking a question. Either way, thank you :)
@@JoeCoup1 Yes. You end almost every sentence like a question. Reminds me of kids giving oral reports in school
I see what you mean, it’s definitely a mental thing when I record audio. I’m sure the more I do it the better it will be

Just trying to get better :) nothing wrong with criticism
Thanks so much, this video is much needed
Thank you :)
im a roblox studio dev wrong side of development
I am kind of interested in roblox dev, never played the game though
Ty for the comparisons. Asking the real questions.
Thank you for watching :)
I hate long long repetitive things, most of the tuts can be compressed into 20min. thanks for info 👍
Yeah it depends on experience though. I feel like a young kid with no programming knowledge would be better off with a long video
Gwizz 💯or CodingQuests💯
Idk who gwizz is, I’ll have to check them out
first 😛
Heartbeast honestly
I love heartbeast :)
ty
Of course :)
Present
:)
brackets is the best
Which one is your favorite? Mine is probably the curly bracket { }
@@JoeCoup1 lel
Noted. Thank you for the recommendations
:) they’re all pretty good but the brackeys one really impressed me
