It wasn't a national narrative that 370 should go. People in the South or east didn't mind. It was only the narrative of maybe North Indians, egged on by the linkage and skillful manipulation of anti Muslim sentiments.
I am from the south and I feel strongly against 370. It didn't serve any purpose except separatism and the feeling of otherness from the rest of India. You say there are similar provisions in the north east but they are different.

Fake narrative propagated by almost every kashmiri leader specially from national conference that it's only because of Art. 370 that Accession of J&K was possible, whereas the reality is that J&K had acceded to Union of India after Maharaja Hari Singh had signed the Accession agreement on 26th of October 1947, and Art. 370 was administered much later in Jammu and Kashmir by India as a state from 17 November 1952 which conferred on it the power to have a separate constitution, a state flag, and autonomy of internal administration under the Primeminitership of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru.

There are 9 to 10 million refugees in Muslim world , at least 14 million internally displaced.This means 1 out of 140 people living in the muslim world is a refugee and one in 100 is internally displaced...

Insightful conversation, also I would like to thank Kapil Sir for lighting the fact of environment and ecology of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. As people here are very concerned about the environment and the hawk eyes of tycoons who want to set some industries here. Hight time that we discuss more on environmental development and preservation of J &k&L, we have an explosive tourist presence every year and if locals and tourists aren't left with the sense of awareness about the environment than we will loose this as well. From waste management to energy usage, everything should be a priority for any government henceforth.

The time for plebiscite has long gone, so that is never going to happen. Kashmir is part of India and Kashmiris have equal rights and duties as the rest of the Indians.

From last seven years we are not in a democratic setup. India a largest democratic country in the word and the crown of india ...has not a democratically elected govt. How this suit for the custodians of Constitution. I think we as a whole citizens deserve respect, regard and honor. So we deserve a complete statehood as well. I m in hotel industry from 2018 but I am seeing now from 3 years tourists are not comming kashmir as they was before 19, it is very sad that from last 3 months in every hotel of srinagar city guests are like 2 or 3 rooms in a hotel. The army guy is saying that in 1975, he was asked are you Indian, others had similar experiences, meaning Kashmiris saw them as the other, as foreigners.

Why don't these people say that Indian parliament have no authority to scrape art. 370. Those countries which have constitution for functioning of the state, have to acknowledge that no law can be ammend in constitution. Because constitution means formed, or established law, if you ammend them then how can you have faith in constitution and accept it authority.

We have lots of hopes on the Omar Abdullah led new future government. Hope they will recruit genuinely (removing this new reservation policy which is anti majority Open Merit People) all pending posts particularly in School and Higher Education sectors.
There has been no School teacher recruitment since 2018 and no 10+2 recruitment since 2017!.
College APs positions are noticed once in 3-4 years, but the notified positions are very few in comparison to actual vacancies in the colleges.
Look at the College Contractual Assistant Professors, they are still paid only 28000, the minimum basic pay as per UGC is 57000..
The PhD scholars with NET JRF fellowships are gettin 50k fellowship per month,
But Contractual APs with PhD + Net JRF are getting 28k only. Why is this new begair system in place ?
And Why is proportion of Contractual faculty increasing each year in colleges and Universities.
