Thanks so much for visiting! Was a treat to host you and your crew :)) - Lindsey (Curator of Video Games, Strong Museum).
You were amazing with the tour!! Thank you so, so much!! 👍
Very cool! Thanks too both of you for making some great content! 👍🏻🇺🇲
can someone please tell me what PC game is playing at this clip? @5:01 i use to go to the library and play this all the time when i was 5yo and i never figured out what it was, pretty sure it was on floppy disks
Surprised no one answered you but it's King's Quest :p@@shmayton
Whaaa? I used to love the videos of you and Kohei pawing through games and manga on your old channel. Congrats on your job at the Strong Museum! Looks so cool!
The Strong museum alone could have been a 24-hour video and still not enough time to cover everything they have there.
Thanks so much for setting up the museum tour AND sharing some of that footage. 👍
You guys rock!
That museum looked WILD.
can someone please tell me what PC game is playing at this clip? @5:01 i use to go to the library and play this all the time when i was 5yo and i never figured out what it was, pretty sure it was on floppy disks
Thanks for stopping in to the Sound Garden! It was cool to meet you, thanks for letting us cameo in the video!
It was great to meet you MJR! Had a blast driving you and John to the museum and the tour itself. Such a good time!
Glad you were able to make it out to the Upstate NY area! Appreciate your kind words about your experiences and we hope you are able to return to us soon!
I hope so too!
Like you I am a Metal guy, when I met my wife in the 90's she was listening to Stereolab all the time. I never expected to see one of their albums in one of your videos. People should definitely give them a listen.
I really dig those 90s Stereolab albums a lot!
I’ve lived in the Syracuse area my whole life. Had the pleasure of going to Green Lakes many times and have been to the Strong museum a few years ago. Looking forward to getting there again.
I go to RetroGameCon every year and always have a good time. I even had a table this year to show off my indie game.
I’m glad you liked Syracuse, lots of great parks in the area worth checking out next time you’re here.
It was pretty funny rifling through a box of Atari cartridges only to realize it was you standing right next to me doing the same thing. Fun meeting you in person.
Dude! That was a ton of fun. Us Atari fans need to stick together 👍
oh man....I genuinely want to live in that museum storage area...it's what we all dream of and will never come close to touching. That was legitimately the most amazing thing I've ever seen in retro game collecting. Thanks for getting in there to show us that...wow...just wow!
Regards from Spain, I miss this kind of Cons in Europe.
My goal is to visit Europe next year and do a game hunting/travel vlog. 👍
I grew up in Syracuse, and lived in Rochester in the late 90s. I always hit up the Sound Garden when I go home. I gotta say, this vid made me homesick. It's cool to see a few of my favorite UA-camrs in my old stomping grounds.
The nature views were such a treat, MJR. I've always wanted to visit New York in autumn and the footage did not disappoint. Thank you for sharing that!
13:01 ... John Riggs has the holy grail 😄
I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty-headed animal food trough wiper! I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries! 😂
Not jealous at all of your private tour at the Strong Museum. That place is amazing, and I haven't been back since they re-did their video game section. Was a pleasure meeting you finally! Awesome video as always, glad you enjoyed upstate New York's greenery. (:
A LTPS video and a Metaljesusrocks video on the same day? Best black friday ever!
This Con has been growing every year and this year it was amazing. Glad to see you and John were part of it.
I went to the retro game con in 2016 with my buddy when it was held on the 2nd floor of a car dealership.
That was actually in 2013!
@@RetroGameCon ah ok. Yes that makes sense, I got my years mixed up. It's a fun event.
Such a great time. So glad I got to see you there and thanks for featuring the picture of the two of us together at the end. :)
Everybody I met there was incredible awesome!! Thanks for saying hi 👍
Wow that museum is amazing, wish I could see that in person, great work Sir, best content ever by you that makes me smile everytime.
keep the fire burning and let it keep us warm... - also, that Strong Museum was ultra-cool.
I got the storage tour on my visit too, it's amazing! Looks like they've gotten more stuff since then :)
While everybody's out there on Black Friday likely trampling each other over deals (as always), I'm sitting and peacefully watching an MJR video. Thanks!
I love this comment. 👍
I'll never get people running to shops in person on Black Friday! You get pretty much the same deals, or better ones online and nobody tries to kill you over a stupid TV or a blender 🤣!
I'm always amused by watching the compilations of people doing it though. It's always hilarious!
Folks don't do Black Fridays like that anymore.
Everything is online now.
Just got back from black Friday shopping....it was pretty sad. I think everyone is just broke this year.
Same, brother. Same.
As someone who was Western New York born and raised (since moved south in 2010), the rest of New York State is chock full of natural beauty. The problem is the 5 month winters that are mind numbingly awful. Destroyed roads, destroyed underneath cars, and destroyed backs from shoveling snow. I don't miss it.
Dude your travel videos are awesome! I really like them.
Glad you like them!
MJR is leaving the life!
Travelling, getting exercise, enjoying sights, nature, food, games/vinyl hunting.
What a life! Thank you for sharing it with us!
You bet!
@@MetalJesusRocksdefinitely, appreciate your content dude!
Hopefully not leaving the life just yet
Sleep and Earth! Two of my faves
Sleep's Holy Mountain is a GREAT album 👍
That strong museum looks insane! def gonna plan a trip to it eventually.
Nice to see Ryan (Mystic)! I just thought where else I remember the name Syracuse and then suddenly I remembered Level 4 Syracuse (BMX XXX) 🙂 Good way to start weekend with this go to NY Retro + Retro museum!
Love those antique card and board games from the 1930s and prior. Such cool artwork and vibe.
Would be a very fun thing to collect... and surprisingly affordable too, as far as antiques go. I found Parker Brothers hidden tiles for $40 -- and some of the others featured here for even less.
This channel is simply amazing! There's nothing quite like it. I can't get enough of it! Much love from Slovakia :)
Thanks so much! I really try to mix things up and keep it fresh.
@@MetalJesusRocks I’d love to see more gameplay with your buddies (or solo) on your channel, those videos are my favorite
It was great to finally meet you. Very nice to see you enjoyed yourself while you were out here. If you fly into Rochester and stay out this way...Syracuse is just over an hour away, and you would only be about an hour and a half from Niagara Falls. Not sure if that was on your list of things to see. Outstanding video. You covered so much in just this video. Hope to see you guys next year too. 😊👍
Wow my neck of the woods! Awesome
Friday mornings are always good with a cafe and a new MetalJesus video. You rock, man! thanks for the content!
My pleasure!
That Cake Album is a Classic! Damn that Museum looks dope as well!
The Strong Museum looks super cool. I'd like to go there someday.
Really enjoyed this one!
You combined everything i love about your travel videos, blended with your expo and game/music pickups vids-and seeing John Riggs with you is always a treat.
I now know my retirement goal: save up, move to Rochester or nearby, and get a job at the Strong museum.
@MetalJesusRocks I work across the street from the Strong Museum. It is the coolest thing to go to as an adult or to take your kids to. It's challenging to make time for everything in one day which is awesome. Glad you had a good time.
That museum of Play is amazing. The museum presentation, display, design, infographics, interaction, is another level!
Thanks for visiting and the kind words 😊
wow! That museum is insane!
I am such a sucker for these vlogs Mr MLJR! Let's take a look!
Come to PA! You’re so close to some incredible retro game stores
Wow. Museum of Play looks amazing, even just the main areas. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
These things reminds me of the computer fairs of the early 1990s
Love my weekly virtual travels to usa, thx a lot. Keep rockin'
And my Friday just got better! Can't wait to see what awesome places you visit and games you pick up! 😃
Man that Strong National Museum of Play was something else! Would love to visit a place like that someday!
Wow that strong museum looked amazing.
Was fun meeting you and talking with you at Reto Game Con.
Glad you had a good time
That museum was amazing, seems like it would be worth a trip even from here across the pond.
Watching this video almost 3 months later, and I'm so glad you went to Strong Museum. As someone born and raised in Rochester, but hasn't been back in almost 7 years, that took me right back to so many childhood memories. Thanks MJR!
I had a fantastic time in your area. I'd definitely love to go back and spend more time exploring. 👍
This video is a very awesome treat to behold, thanks for sharing man!
I remember seeing that rare Sega Gunfighter game in arcades as a kid, I loved seeing such rare games brought back to reality!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That museum archive part. I would go nuts there. So epic
Been enjoying these travel vlog style of vids
Love the travel videos MJR. Looks like an awesome time.
It was!
Great episode Jason, I just wish this video was at least an hour long. I will be watching this several times!
I was in NY not too long ago nice to know you visited! I visited a different museum but this one is awesome!
Looks like it was a lot of fun. I could probably never make it out that way, but it's always cool to see videos of these conventions.
Cake jams. Comfort eagle is a masterpiece
100% 🍰
Dude, your videos are just great! Thanks for sharing your entire experience in NY like this. Very cool.
Glad you like them!
Great video, awesome museum and some really nice pick ups.
Glad you enjoyed
Metal Jesus! Your opinion on Cake is dead on. they’re one of those bands that I could listen to pretty much all the time without complaints. I wouldn’t say that I’m a huge fan, but their music is very listenable.
Cool video MJR as always. Love the trip videos man 🫡
Glad you like them!
I live in Rochester. I love the Museum!
Love these travel videos! I had the cassette of that Skid Row album, it was always in heavy rotation on my walkman. About 20 years ago I went to a Cake show that also featured Garbage.
I knew there is a reason why I like you Lon! You got great taste in music 👍
wish I had a friend like John. really cool adventure
Welcome to my town! You hit all the good spots! Thanks for all of your great content.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video and you are right that Museum looks AMAZING!!!!! Definitely adding to my lists of places I want to visit.
Yes, always enjoy these
Dead and rotten live and preserve the arts. Slept well? MJ, you lit it.
Im glad you had a good time! I lived in Rochester NY when I was a kid and absolutley loved it up there. I really do miss it!
So glad you enjoyed our hometown! Haven’t been to strong in a few years, looks like they made some awesome updates! Sound garden rules too
Oh man, you're in my neck of the woods. I hope you had a fine time!
It's so crazy seeing you walk through my city (Syracuse)! Awesome meeting you and John Riggs at the event! Thanks so much for coming all the way over to the east coast. I've gotta go to the Strong Museum next time I'm in Rochester.
Thanks! I really enjoyed my time in Syracuse. Fantastic trip!!
hey metal Jesus i love the videos ❤
The thing about retro events is, not only is the number of people interested growing because adults are now bringing their kids, but also the amount of games considered “retro” is growing so you have older people there celebrating 80s and 90s games, but also younger people celebrating their childhood games from the early 2000s
OMG I think I played that old Sega gunfight game or one very much like it. Wow. I loved the old west and that as a kid was amazing. MY GOD that Play museum!! I just wanna move in there and live the rest of my life out exploring it, playing the games, and eating at that cool looking little diner i spotted as you passed it at the start. What a great video. You are a lucky man MJ. Ive never been able to go to anything like this in my life. im 54 now and have lived gaming and playing since like 1976. And yet I have gone no where and my disability combined with other health stuff and money makes it beyond me. Ive watched you for years now and through you I get to go to all the cool places. Dont have to walk for hours. Get to see all the cool stuff. And have it narrated as well. Thank you my online friend in gaming. Bless you and your family and friends. You all ROOooock!
The Strong National Museum of play is kind of a point of pride for native Rochestarians so it's dope to see someone giving it a more national bump. They put together a really neat book a few years ago called "The History of Video Games in 64 objects".
Also if you didnt you shiuld try a garbage plate next time. It's a very weird but amazing local dish that's seeped into basically every burger joint, most diners, and a lot of pizza places.
There was a LOT to Like/Love in this video! I saw the two WonderSwan color(s) and Sega Pico! Wouldn’t mind having both in my collection of handhelds that is actually limited! 🙄😎
That’s awesome, love the pickups! I wonder if you’ve dove into any cassette collecting, vhs or audio. Cassette sounds surprisingly good and are fun to listen to
Hey Mjr. My name is David id like to thank you for your videos, you really have a way with editing or i dont know what but your videos really relax me. I am a huge vídeo game buff but i currently dont have and cant afford to have a videogame collection. Anyways keep doing what your doing and thank you again for being such a genuine person. Saludos desde Argentina!
The Strong Museum has be the coolest museum ever. Would love to see in person someday.
Seeing Ryan pop up was cool!
He's a super cool dude.
What an amazing trip. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Glad you enjoyed it!
16:55 marvel released a competitor to heavy metal around 79-80 called epic magazine, in my opinion its just as good as heavy metal art and story wise
I'd always meant to find out which album Du Hast was from, but never got around to doing it.
Now, thanks to Jason, I don't have to! That album is definitely going on my shopping list 🤘🤘
Seeing Mystic Ryan recording with a PSP is priceless. What a great trip
The Strong museum looks pretty cool!
I'm soo glad you came to upstate ny and i hope to see you attend retrogamecon in the future.
I have seen REO Speedwagon live several times in concert and they never disappoint. Their shows are excellent with lots of energy.
Retro game con was amazing. I doubt you remember but me and my one friend saw you walking around towards the old computers and asked for a picture. It was awesome meeting you
Hey man, just saw a bunch of pick up videos with Reggie. Just wanted to say that you guys have fantastic energy, and a great vibe.
I think that in today's world it's super hard to find someone bussy creating instead of destroying.
So, keep making em I'll keep watching em and send my love to everyone and all ❤❤❤❤
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching (and the nice comment).
I love the contrast of the John St. John advertising looking like a respectable intellectual and the actual dude looking like he wears "Foxy Grandpa" hats.
Its good to see you enjoying life MJ. Been watching for years. Happy for you man!
I appreciate that!
@@MetalJesusRocks no problem. Catch you on the next one
Much love to that museum and its staff for letting us see the backrooms! AMAZING collection ❤
I lived in Syracuse NY for 38 years and experienced all of the things in this video. 🙂
You came to my hometown of Rochester NY and Strong Museum of play is electrifying but did you know we are the inventor of the camera too?
I met Tim Kitzrow that does the voice of NBA Jam at Multi Music City Comic-Con where I met you last year. Tim is an amazing person and very kind
That Larry 5 scene on paper. I was 8 years old when I first played that, it was my favorite game on my 286. What a great memory, cool to see ! Thanks for the content MJ !
I really enjoyed Raaji. I think more games need to tap into South Asian mythology for their lore. So many epic stories, epic imagery, epic everything
Strong Museum is off the charts. That is one hell of a collection of everything.
So glad you liked ROC and The Cuse! I've lived in both cities, so they hold a nostalgic place in my heart. Next time you visit Rochester, check out the Record Archive and House of Guitars, two iconic music stores.
