Thanks for this, I'm taking my mum with her wheelchair tomorrow and this video was great to show the smooth paths and roads in the centre/by the harbour. Thank you!
When I was working in Montreal , Canada in the '60s my boss came from Padstow . He said he'd been to my hometown of Torquay many times , had to admit I had never been to Padstow. I now live back in Torquay , and I still have never been to Padstow , but it looks beautiful , I must give it a visit .🇬🇧
Padstow has never been as busy as it is this summer. As someone who lives here, we look forward to a few weeks from now, when it is still busy enough to have its lovely atmosphere, but not packed so much you can’t move, get in a restaurant, cafe or bar and full of people that think they can do anything they like because they are on holiday. Maybe do a 2nd tour and the other lovely restaurants and places eat and drink and see it out of season when it is even more beautiful 😍
Great idea - I'll definitely do that! The last time I visited (before this video) was just exactly as you say - was busy but not as busy as it is currently! I fell in love with the place!
Larger and busier than I expected but still lovely. I’m sure I would prefer to visit out of peak season when it is calmer. Your walks are very good - excellent camera work and no annoying music or voiceovers, just a few interesting facts displayed on the bottom of the screen. Your films really transport me to the location and as travel is no longer possible for me, it’s a treat to visit virtually.
Another great & fantastic video of PADSTOW CORNWALL | Full walking tour of Padstow Cornwall from Rick Stein Fish and Chips to Harbour i once went to Padstow when i was at penzance!.💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I don't mind having fish & chips when out and about near the sea, but not so much inclined to stand in a queue that long for it! A small fish and chippy a couple doors down in a small village where I lived. had the best I've eaten. Cheaper too since there was no sea for nearly 80 miles. I imagine you can get whiffs of all kinds of seafoods walking around Padstow amongst the eclectic mix of fisherman's cottages and merchant's houses. Thanks again for another enjoyable walk! :)
As an English-born Canadian, I have the fondest memories of some of these beautiful scenic walks. i was fortunate enough to see them before the war and before they became so commercialized. It would help us get located if you would show a simple map in relation to the British Isles, then a close-up of the area itself. I often turn to Google Earth and attempt to follow in your footsteps. Wonderful videos and we all appreciate your hard work and attention to detail Bless you and stay safe. John, Ontario, Canada
Christ. Brings back memories. I lived in a little cottage just off the harbor for 20 years. Lovely place and I miss it but couldn't deal with the crowds anymore. By the way there are lots more interesting areas to film. Prideax place....Padstow church... Lovely walk round Trip Troll. Buff lodge... Padstow social club. Old girder railway bridge... Also lots of lovely old buildings up town a little 😊
IV'E BEEN TO PADSTOW,-AND I WOULD'NT BE QUEUEING FOR "RICKS"TUCKER,-THERE'S PLENTY OF GREAT FISH&CHIPS IN PADSTOW !="NO LINEING UP--GREAT VIDEO MATE--STUNNING PLACE !!
The little fish and chip shop in Southwold where they cook in beef dripping, Henry’s in Hunstanton or The chip shed in Bourton on the water for me, are the 3 best that I’ve had on my travels
I am glad you are filming more in Cornwall lovely:) and if you want a pasty head to Warrens Bakers they have been making them for more than 100 years then try their saffron cake yummy!
Another enjoyable video. Think I’ll pass on the Rick Steins fish and chips it’s a bit too far to travel from Sheffield 🤣🤣. Keep on walking 👍👍🚶🏻♂️🚶🏻♂️
Love Padstow been to all three Ric Steins his fish and chips to me are no different to any other his restaurant mmmm well tbh I felt as if I was was in some ones front room and the food like you said it’s no better than what I’ve had before but his little cafe where we had a breakfast was a good fulfilling one the next year we went we stayed at Padstow we stayed at the custom house brilliant place and could not fault the food there it’s a great place this has been for me a brilliant video you got good footage 😎
A lovely video of Padstow - there so many tourists. It seems Stein's F&C restaurants are popular. Thank you for sharing - I am learning a lot from your videos. 🙂👍
Absolutely love Padstow 😍 Whenever I visit Cornwall I stay quite near here and regardless of where ive been during the day I always go to Padstow for dinner and a wander when it is a bit quieter 😏 Rick Stein’s fish and chip shop is perfectly good but more often than not I ate at the cafe that faces onto the harbour - cheaper and you get served quicker 😉
The Waterfront in North Shields, we think are consistently the best, take-away or eat in, good sized fish in delicious soft, yet crispy batter(making me hungry now). Anywhere else tends to be a disappointment.
To many tourists, these are really great fish and chips. To those of us who live here they are not really any different apart from the price. All over Cornwall we get very fresh fish and one or two make chips even better. You will get good fish and chips everywhere in Cornwall. Stein's doesn't even feature in the top 20 in the county
I lived in Padstow from 1978 to 79 and I liked the winters as it had fewer people, I remember Rick and Jill his first wife ,Rick then was a washed up failed D.J. he won't mind me saying that, Friday nights at the "club" was the reason for working.
I have visited Cornwall many times and Padstow a few. Cornwall is naturally stunningly beautiful. Unfortunately the traditional employment in fishing, mining, farming etc have dramatically declined and many properties have been purchased as second homes. The result is that the locals struggle to survive out of the holiday season unless they work from home in tech jobs or other niche areas that aren't entirely seasonal. The overcrowding during the summer and other issues have destroyed the character that I knew 40-50 years ago. As for Rick Stein's restaurants, I'm afraid he's cashing in on his celebrity status and the food is highly overpriced and nothing more than mediocre. I'd urge you to give your custom to small businesses who depend on their income from their food and you'll contribute to a win-win situation.
Wonder why the holiday makers dont wear masks! Its not surprising we have the highest Covid numbers in the country! We are local and havent been out, apart from essential shopping, since the end of June because we dont want to catch Covid. I wish someone would explain why they dont feel the need to protect themselves and others!

Well said - Not a fan of Rick Stein's place
The little fish and chip shop in Southwold where they cook in beef dripping, Henry’s in Hunstanton or The chip shed in Bourton on the water for me, are the 3 best that I’ve had on my travels
Oh I'm going to have to try those. can't beat great fish and chips!
I am glad you are filming more in Cornwall lovely:) and if you want a pasty head to Warrens Bakers they have been making them for more than 100 years then try their saffron cake yummy!
Sounds great!
Well, this is what staycations mean then. Absolutely crowded. THX

Another enjoyable video. Think I’ll pass on the Rick Steins fish and chips it’s a bit too far to travel from Sheffield 🤣🤣. Keep on walking 👍👍🚶🏻♂️🚶🏻♂️

This looks like a definite place to visit

Have a great week!
A lovely video of Padstow - there so many tourists. It seems Stein's F&C restaurants are popular.
Thank you for sharing - I am learning a lot from your videos. 🙂👍
They have had enough publicity over the years.
I bet Rick Stein's fish n chips are over priced, I'd rather stuck to somewhere cheaper.... That'll be just as good!!
Looks lovely and very busy, may be easier to visit out of season when less crowded, but thanks for showing us.
You're welcome - it was pretty busy although i expected it to be even more packed than it was!
Padstow is lovely but I'd prefer it when it's not too busy.
Agreed!
Rick Steins is just ‘ok’ to me
Well nice. All your videos are of sunny days.. do yiu check the weather and then head for the trips ? :)
Pretty much yes whenever I can!
The Waterfront in North Shields, we think are consistently the best, take-away or eat in, good sized fish in delicious soft, yet crispy batter(making me hungry now). Anywhere else tends to be a disappointment.
Thanks for the tips! I'm due up there soon so will try that!
Wow, two separate street cleaners in Padstow, fair play to the council !!
🤣🤣
Toon village in Cornwall! Best f&chips!

I think I agree with you
True!😊
He hasn’t got a Michelin star either …
Is it possible that you could show if there is a beach attached to the places that you visit, and say if it’s dog friendly? 👍
There’s a lot of beaches and sounds very dog friendly. A lot of info on line. 😀
NO beach should be dog friendly, sh*t factories on strings should be kept at home
I lived in Padstow from 1978 to 79 and I liked the winters as it had fewer people, I remember Rick and Jill his first wife ,Rick then was a washed up failed D.J. he won't mind me saying that, Friday nights at the "club" was the reason for working.
One year? Lot of local knowledge there.
and cornish pasties and clotted cream
Looking forward to going to padstow in 2 weeks time
Visit the Rock and beaches around there never been would like a Gimball scouting first.
Will have a look - I"m due down there soon
Padstow looks a nice place for a visit but you can't beat Whitby.
Be refreshing to have look at Padstow without a mention of you know who.
Agreed
I think if you feel at home in Padstow you should buy a place. Marie
Too expensive for me Marie!
Read more than one review on Rick Stein's fish and chip shop .Said it was a rip off.
I have to be honest I agree - awful
This is Padstow in uk ?
It is!
No Padstow Australia😅
I’m pretty sure Rick Stein doesn’t have a Michelin star but Paul Ainsworth’s number 6 definitely does.
Good point very true

Stein does not have any Michelin stars
SEINS FISH AND CHIPS OVER RATED!!!!😮😮😮😮😮
True

Not sure Judith
I think the government message is that you don’t have to anymore so people choose to not bother
They came on holiday to Cornwall to get away from Covid!
Rick does NOT have a Michelin Star.
Ok
rick steins fish shop run of the mill and over priced
Definitely agree
Afraid it's a section of the holiday trade that has made it so.
Don't buy a house down here we've got to many outsiders already.
Outsiders?
