      Amy LR push using your abs, not your hands or head, that will most likely cause neck pain and won't work your stomach as much. (Might seem obvious but a lot of people try to do them without forcing with their abs)

    I use to only be able to do 20 after having my son. Now I can do 100 :) This video really helped make sure I was doing it right - thank you! If some people feel like kicking it up a notch and targeting your lower abdominal muscles as well try bringing your knees towards you as you go upwards. You can feel it targeting the different muscles. I like to alternate 5 with knees up 5 without :)

      Also, if you have too much neck strain, it could possibly be because you are not tightening your core enough. Anytime my neck hurts during crunches, I tighten my abs and it disappears.

    To do a good funktional crunch, you have to roll in further, meaning the lower back also have to leave the floor. But the hips/pelvic have to stay pressed in the floor, otherwise its gonna be a situp, and for those you need much more resistance than flat on the floor(you lose resistance wenn you go high enough because of gravity). But be careful you don't Arch the back while going up, always be as round as possible while crunching.

      I think that's a terrible idea for your back. The spine will mold into the shape of the matress. If I am wrong I ask anyone who really knows to correct me. As I may be wrong. But I think this is why you use a thin mat on the floor generally speaking or a bench with a hard structure under it.

    Does this help loose belly fat?

    • @jrcrawford3036
      @jrcrawford3036 10 років тому +29

      No, all round exercises that use your energy will help you lose belly fat and fat in all other areas of your body for that matter. you can't target a certain area you want to remove fat from, contrary to what anyone you know or magazines can tell you. It's all bullshit. All you do its lower your body fat % by eating right and exercising regularly and consistently. Crunches will exercise the muscles around the core, strengthening them and adding definition. By having a well defined core may make it look like you have less fat around that area but you will never see what they could really look like unless you cut down ALL the fat in your body. the only way crunches will make you lose belly fat is by the general energy/calories it takes to complete them. I hope this helps

    • @realfan91
      @realfan91 10 років тому +2

      yeah, do walking/running training. Aerob/cardio. That helps removing fat. And eating is also as important.

And this had nothing to do with it, masturbation (everyone do it) causes back pain problems and drains your energy. I don't see how this is irrelevant it's just a possibility my friend. or is it because of my name "Muhammad" you thought that i'm just trying to make you stop a bad habit for religious reasons so i can get the good deeds? Just throwing an advice... take it or leave it.

      @here2there4life 10 років тому +1

      For crunches, the only thing that should leave the ground are your shoulder blades, thus targeting the upper part of the abdominal panel, while the rest of your body should be anchored down by the weight of the lower half of your body. Keeping your legs down is usually a problem when doing a full sit up, not a crunch.
