We ARE meeting for the first time! I watched a few videos on openers and I really like your presentation. Just trying to replace a 1996 model with something quiet and reliable. Seeing tons of mixed reviews and opinions. My garage door guy said Genie was bad, Chamberlain was good. He replaced all the outer hinges and rollers ($350) seemed super expensive for 30 minutes of work but the door is MUCH smoother now.
For under $300, what's the best option for a quiet and reliable opener?

Hello. Thank you for reaching out. For under $300 there should be a number of motors that will work with your garage door system. 3 factors that I would consider: type of garage door you have and overhead space. Do you have an insulated garage door? Does your garage door roll up on a low head track assembly? Are you looking for specific security features?

Hello! My local distributor sells it as the Door Stand Yellow. Unfortunately they don't ship it out.

Ok so I've commented on your videos before. I feel that you generally do a pretty good job with these videos. There's a fine line your walking and I think your doing it well. . Today you're talking about a guy cutting down some flag brackets and using it for some backhang on an opener. You know what if they are right length? Who cares? It's thicker metal than the punch angle right, Right?. And as you mentioned, it was probably more work to put them in. A lot of more work He had to bust out his grinder. He ain't using no snips to cut those brackets. No. I'm thinking that He was in a jam and came with something that would still look good and something that would get the job right and something that would last. Those cut flag brackets will work just as good as as punched angle with. If he was working for me and I got called there and I had to see that I would tell him he did a good job thinking out of the box coming up with something that would work just as well as punched angle looks just as good as punched angle and last just as long as punched angle. And he wasn't being lazy cuz you know how hard those things are to cut. So he gave himself extra work in doing so. In ending I'm just going to This is a non-issue. If it was plumber's tape would or if they had some 8 ft pieces with no sway brace then yes but 8 in of flag bracket. There's nothing wrong with that. Just my opinion. I think you do a great job. I really do. I love your channel. Keep up the good work. Just don't agree with you today

Hey Tommy! Thank you so much for sharing your feedback! That's what I love about this community. In fact, you bring up great points. To be honest I really didn't think about the perspective you mentioned. You're absolutely right! He had to grind away thru that gauge of the flag bracket! And if memory serves me, he might have used tin snips because the cut was not clean. Thus he does deserve recognition being quick on his feet, especially if he had no punch angle.
I will admit I have used door jamb brackets to hang GDOs with very low or limited head space. They work perfect on the Genie motor heads. So by no means am I saying I haven't done something similar.
Now the video does show how off the motor was from the center to the door. And that led me to believe that the guy was not paying attention or he was just not seasoned enough to align the motor properly. At any rate, he did his best. I just happened to be the next guy.
But seriously, thank you for all the kind words and support to the channel. I appreciate it greatly. BTW, what area do you service?

@@sosgds If that opener was off center like you said and it wasn't going straight then you are absolutely 100% correct. There's no excuse for not having a straight opener. Should be straight to the style every time.. It takes a strong wise man to admit when he's wrong and you just did that. So good for you... It's why I like your channel your open mindedness and willingness to see the other side...you must be a great boss too...stay healthy. See you out there sometime.. I work Santa Monica, West LA, Beverly Hills.
