Your voice is much better with "filter box" but the kids talking...I think is necessary a really isolated room to make good records. However, this filter is making a good job. This is my opinion.
There a company called comet that makes these for $100 you might wanna check out.I have the eyeball and the comet is built same quality as the eyeball !! This Alcatraz one is a cheaper/lighter version
Hmmm... I think the demonstration is flawed because you do not address how it makes your voice sound dull and lifeless - it loses some of the harmonic fullness, making it sterile and less realistic as if you reduced treble with EQ (say cutting above 2700 Hz 3-6 dB) - nothing scientific here, just saying it kills the higher frequencies and harmonics of your voice. So, yes it reduced ambient noise, but it also killed your voice. Better to close talk the microphone as intended by the manufacturer. Heck, Shure, Sennheiser, AKG and many other manufacturers recommend speaking within 3-6 inches of the mic - which will reduce ambient noise because the voice SIGNAL is stronger relative to ambient NOISE levels, and as we all know, signal-to-noise EVERYTHING. Just my take ... thanks for the demo. The kids sound happy and having fun. TT

Thank you for the feedback! It is very much appreciated. Cheers!
It's a subtle difference, but possibly worth getting.
Yes. Subtle, but definitely noticable.
I think it's most interesting that it doesn't do much to color your voice in the mic.
That's a fair and informative observation. Thanks for sharing.
