I always thought this scene was insulting to Addison. I mean the way she must have felt hearing how Dell and Naomi were talking about abortions probably hurt on some level. I know Addison is a strong woman who is at peace with her decisions but still to hear all of that must have hurt and I don't think anyone really addresses Addison's past respectfully.

It’s just, you know, if the father wanted, he could walk away from the pregnancy. He could run away. But where is that option for women? They will always be stuck with the child. At least for the 9 months. You could bring up adoption but the childcare system is heavily underfunded. The chances that a child would end up in a happy home are pretty low. And even if they aren’t adopted, there’s the chance of being sexually, physically, or emotionally abused by anybody there.
In my opinion, the father can say what he wants, but he does not get the final decision.

And women have a bunch of ways to avoid pregnancy as well. Ie. The plethora of safe sex options.

Dell telling that women his opinion on abortions is horrible - it’s her body her choice. A women as a right to make her own decision about her own body. Always. But I do still think the new doctor should have told the others she wanted to do them so they could discuss it because even if you aren’t against abortion Naomi and Cooper still have valid points regarding the environment they would be held in. Also no matter what she wanted to do she still should’ve told them considering they were letting her work there - it wasn’t her practice to decide what they did or didn’t do there

Where an infant resides, whether inside or outside a woman's body, does not determine whether or not this human being is being killed. It makes no sense that people do not see that once conceived, a new unique human LIFE is formed. Just because she conceived it does not mean that the woman has to be the infant's mother. The fact that sex results in creation of new life is why abstinence should still be taught if we are providing sex ed to kids in school... because using those pro-creating parts of the body for pleasure DOES come with responsibility and ideally people should proceed with the expectation of the creation of life when having sex. You have sex, life is created, it's not the woman's body, it is a separate distinct life. So the only choice that the woman really needs to make is whether she will keep the child and raise it OR whether she will forfeit her right and yield the child over for adoption. ABORTION is not the answer.

I love Grey's and PP but I hate how abortion was so normalised in both shows. Even Naomi ended up becoming a massive hypocrite when her own daughter got pregnant. Dell was such a breath of fresh air. He was so sweet and empathetic but he always stuck to his beliefs. Whatever the reason he was unapologetically pro-life. Yes, talking to that patient was out of line but if something goes against your beliefs should you be forced to participate in it? And I'm not talking about making a wedding cake for an LGBTQ+ couple. Besides, if she truly had made up her mind nothing he said should've changed that. But then he was forced to apologise and she went through with it anyway. Bottom line, his opinion didn't matter anyway because he didn't have a uterus. If a woman wants an abortion the man has no say but if a woman decides to have the baby the man is expected to step up as a father and pay child support. I'm a feminist but the hypocrisy is INFURIATING.
Even putting personal feelings aside, this is a very controversial issue that the doctor should have disclosed to the owner and staff, especially at a FERTILITY CLINIC. It is a bit fucked up that one place has lots of women that are trying so hard to get pregnant and then in the next room another one is having an abortion. It's so contradictory.
