My old boxing coach used to say something like "train out your weaknesses not your strengths" or "train the stuff most that you're not already good at. " Always stuck with me and proved good advice. (Long as you know they're legit techniques and all) So if your right Rh feels good but your left feels weak and unnatural, focus on that. Go back to ground zero and learn it again slowly focusing on technique and all the little details. Record yourself and watch it for mistakes. (Mistakes, not for admiring yourself and your big muscles and stuff. Well least not obsessively.:) Take time to focus on just that technique regularly, whole sessions even. Until you really got it engrained, otherwise you'll be coming back to it all the time and never really have it locked in there. If it doesn't feel naturally still it's highly unlikely you'll be able to pull it off or even remember it in a fight. Anyway thats just my two whatevers )))
I was surprised how quickly you get used to the pain of kicking but yeah the first time I used a bag in my gym my coach said kick the bag each leg 50 times I was like okay will be tiring but I can do it… it was agony the by the 10th kick my first time. I didn’t expect it to hurt that much. But it’s weird haven’t felt pain like that since.
@@pollen1253 I felt pain in my knuckles, so I decided to take a break from punching bags. But my knuckles have been hurting for weeks now, should I keep punching the hard bags?
There's some new people in my gym that throw kicks like that. A little guidance and practice within the first couple weeks its a night and day difference
@@douglaspettyjohn7071 thats so true. I had "talent" said the coach at the thaibox gym. But in reality I went to the gym for the past 10 years and I was atlethic because of it. Some people are just not into moving their bodies...
So this guy seriously wants us to believe the camera angle along with the setup of the room never changed in 27 years 😂 Damn man, not even the punching bag
I’ve seen people who have never kicked before kick a bag and it looks just like the first clip haha! Most of them usually don’t know how to use there body mechanics yet but through time start to develops proper technique. Very accurate lol. Love ur videos Shane been a fan of ur channel for a very long time. Keep doing what u do brother! Whole lotta love from Chicago! 💙👊🏼🤝
As a karate teacher, a day 1 roundhouse kick usually either looks like a side kick or a round kick with flexed feet (which could break your toes). Always point your toes and always condition your shins.
Sorry to disappoint. Those banana trees bukaw chops down are really soft. Tried and tested while I was out there. Still wouldn't want a kick from the legend though
When I first trained my kicks sucked for a whole year 😭 You’ve progressed so much and you’re a major inspiration and you have definitely contributed to my 5+ of years of progress. Keep up the awesome work Shane! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Its always been astounding to me that anyones kicks can look like day 1-100's kicks for longe rthan 10 minutes of coaching. Ive seen it before with people who are gumby but most ive seen also just kinda do it right from the drop aside from some easy corrections.

my left leg is basically that first clip, it feels so ridiculously awkward trying to do a basic roundhouse the way i can with my right
Just keep working at it man. It will improve with time
Do it right and slowly first, that's how I improved.
Repetition, repetition, repetition. Recording yourself at bagwork is quite helpful too.
Sensei Butch would always say,"your left is stupid you just have to train it." Man is he gonna be pissed when he sees me again 😅

His roundhouse kicks got so good they turned into front kicks 💀

Shane’s techniques are crisp and clean. I’d argue, it’s one of the best from among the the YT martial arts community.
For the part when u said 24 years, it only took me 3 years to have a good round house kick😊
Sorry I didn’t mean to put the emoji
Never give up folks. We all start off dainty, kick a little gayly, then transform into muay thai practitioners.
10,000 days is 27 years.. this is so cringe I can’t even.
How is it cringe? He’s 33 and been practicing since he was 9
Can't you even, though?
fair play to that bag for keeping up for 24 years
I thought the banging noise was some construction work going on. 😂
Heartwarming transformation, just imagine how good he will be in 10 years!

When kicks start flying like hands, I'm out lmfao

Most importantly, you finally kept your hands where they should be during the full extent of your kick.
