I used to follow make up tutorial, it never looked good on me. I even cried at times, out of frustration. Until I understood that I have hooded eyes, your channel has been a live saver in learning make up! Thanks for your tutorials!
I'm 53 and have hooded eyes. This is the first time I've ever seen this technique and I've been learning about makeup application foreverrrrrrr. I'm SO glad I found you and this tutorial!!
Thank u! "Dabbing" is a key technique for mature eyes where lids are crepey and "loose" . Since mature lids are not taught, dragging brush back and forth moves the skin creating skipping and is rough on delicate lids
I love that you use sponge tip applicators for this look. I still use them, but don't see any other beauty influencers using them. Love the look! I will try this method for my hooded eyes.
@@TammyMellons-k6jYou can still get them through Sally Beauty, pretty good ones, though the last time I had to order online since they didn’t have them at my local stores.
Smitha, thank you, thank you for all your tutorials! I, also have brown eyes and really appreciate it how you help with the eyeshadows and make up techniques (...for hooded eyes as well). I just subscribed and will be going back to look at all your other tutorials. You are a blessing! Hello from Canada!
When it comes to the most beautiful eye shadow looks, and easy to follow tutorials…..I immediately think Smitha!! Hands down!! I can’t subscribe though…..because I have already been a loyal follower for years!😅😅😅 Thank you again Smitha for always making me feel that I can still wear pretty eyeshadow even though I have hooded eyes ❤❤❤❤❤
I gave up on video tutorials for hooded eyes several years ago because the techniques were too hard to replicate. I think it's a miracle that I found your video! I just subscribed and I am so grateful that you demonstrated an easy make up technique for hooded eyes. Moreover, I liked that your video was very concise and to the point. Sometimes it seems that there is too much fuss made over that type of product when I would rather skip to the application part in fact, I like that your introduction was also short sweet into the point.I can't say enough good things about this video.
Wow thank you SO much for this. I appreciate your hooded eye tutorials so so much and learn more than on any other tutorial. I have fully hooded eyes too so this is so helpful!
I am just interested in the eye makeup portion because I am in my 60s and I just was not a fan of eyeshadow because it just did not work on my lid but going to try this out and see how it does. Thanks
This is my first time watching you. Such a beautiful technique and one I have not seen before. My eyes are very hooded and I am looking forward to trying this technique. Thanks for sharing.
Just came across your page a couple days ago and love your tutorials for hooded eye makeup. I struggle with this so much! Especially because I had a late start with makeup and don't use it often enough to get the practice. Can't wait to try this technique!
Thank you for this! My eyes are similarly shaped and I’ve been experimenting with this technique the last couple days and it really is flattering and makes my eyes look bigger. Love it 😊
I tried few of your techniques finger and sponge applying and dabbing with brush (I’m 51) it works perfectly every time and results are stunning just like yours ❤🎉❤ You are the Best Smitha ❤❤❤ thank you 🙏
I absolutely love this look. I love browns and a bit of a gold shimmer. I have slightly hooded eyelids as well, and so this sort of look always works like a charm! This is a look that suits so many skin colours, too. Beautiful ❤ Thank you for the tips!
Thank you for this detailed video. You are really beautiful and I really love how you teach eye make up application - detailed and close so that we can see how it is done
Absolutely beautiful. I don’t use a lot of makeup but this is really helpful for me the next time I go out I will definitely try this suggestion I probably practice a lot before that .
What a beautiful look! I wish I could wear glitter eyeshadow but it gets everywhere, even when I use a glitter glue, and I just cannot stand having those little sparkly flecks all over my face. I will try this look with a light shimmer shadow instead. Thank you, Smitha!
Your tutorials are always so excellent and I've learned a lot. I've been struggling with using brushes to apply powder eye shadows and still no idea what I'm doing there, but your sponge application and mapping approach feels like a breakthrough for me. Time to pick up a pack of multiple use disposable sponges!
Hi Smitha . I really enjoyed recreating this eye shadow look and it flattered my extreme hooded eyes .. ! I think I like these kinds of looks for my eyes more than the last comment I dropped under the finger flick eyeliner look! Thank you ...
I love your video's! Do you have a link for the sponge tip applicator you are using? I have tried a few and they are very flimsy and the one you used looks perfect.

Ahhhhh! Lightbulb moment! So that's why I end up with gaps in my eye shadow. Thank you for this!
@@midlifemom5829 thank you!!!
Yes! It’s all about pushing product into the skin, not swiping it across the skin.
@@AndieJxoxoI love that Smitha’s community does this for each other 🥰
I've got to go back and binge watch all of your videos for hooded eyes. You made it so simple. Thank you.
Ooh amazing, and I love that you actually have hooded eyes showing the technique
I love that you use sponge tip applicators for this look. I still use them, but don't see any other beauty influencers using them. Love the look! I will try this method for my hooded eyes.
I have used the sponge-tipped applicators for years and thought that I was the only person in the world who did!
@nancybrewer5778 Me too and honestly I prefer those to brushes, but use both. They are also hard to find these days.
@@TammyMellons-k6jYou can still get them through Sally Beauty, pretty good ones, though the last time I had to order online since they didn’t have them at my local stores.
You are an incredible artist. I love that you show your real skin and then apply the make up.
No one could have explained this better than you. Thank you for always teaching new techniques which can be done by amateurs like me ❤❤❤
Ok, I’m 57 with hooded eyes, I’m going to give this a try 😊
This is a real masterclass for hooded eyes... you make it look easy, but as we all know, it is not! Kudos, and thanks a lot.
