So... Ai03 designed the venerable VEGA. He also designed this Brutal 1800 V2 for Cannonkeys... But he did something weird. He only put gaskets on the bottom and not on the top... BUT wait... the sound... the sound!

The Raspberry Chip is an RP2040, a microcontroller which recently received QMK support. It's actually made by the Raspberry Pi Foundation and it's main advantage is that it's cheaper than e.g. the ATMega32u4 and probably more importantly, it is actually available right now. Other chips are still unavailable due to the chip shortage.
That's good to know!
@@Keybored its also a much "beefier" chip.
16k vs 1k for the eeprom
Dual core 32bit vs the old 8 bit
16mb vs 32kb for the flash memory
advantages? you can make crazy lengthy (or a lot in general) macros
load more RGB presets (if the board has RGB)
16 layers if you wanted
overclock it too
any of it helpful? who knows
I would have just ordered two keyburgers and stacked them
Hahaha maybe I should have
Keymac
Great vid as always
I did a similar idea on my akko alice (only gaskets on the bottom) and it ended up quite nice. the sound became less muted and the flex was much nicer. Great review for a nice board.
Nice video as usual scott, keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!
Appreciate the review Scott! I actually removed some of the bottom gaskets and all of the top gaskets on my bubble 75 to get more bounce/flex. This certainly strikes me as more dry sounding than that (if that even makes sense). Definitely an interesting design from the factory! when I hear aio3 I often think of the vega and the open source daughterboards that are so ubiquitous!
It felt a lot like a big Vega haha. I went into the review expecting to dislike the board… but came out of it actually really liking it
Happy CNY Scott!
oh man you old LOL nickelodeon days! all that days is gold good burger too! i miss that show! great review as always
Love the intro bro.
These intros are so good.
Scott. This is amazing. PERFECT LEGO KEYBOARD.
Haha it does sound good
God I love how this looks
Scott, loved the nod to Goodburger in your intro! Classic. Great review of the board and it's interesting mounting style. You have been a huge influence and guide as I have made my way down the mechanical keyboard lifestyle. Just curious about what your favorite switches are currently? I have some boards that I need to get to work on and was just curious about your faves. Keep up the great work!
Hi Stevie! Glad you enjoyed the intro! Switches perspective, I like most linear long poles with a 62g spring :)
@@Keybored Is there a particular switch with those specs you would recommend?
Here - take my like for that intro!
Wow, this board seems very interesting with that half-plate and, uh, different mounting style. I do like the sound, but I use some noice Inks myself so I'm biased in that regard, hehe. Boi do I love how they hid away the screws from all visible angles. It's also nice how they provide you with so many options as to how bouncy you want our typing feel to be like. But for 400 dollars? Nah, I'd rather spend it on something like kbdfans kunlun (which I did) ;P
Would love to see your take on the Monsgeek M1, hope to see a review on it soon.
I did something similar with my Akko ACR 68 build, by using a large amount of foam, more than what should bormally fit in the case, i created a pseudo top-mount meyboard that flexed down like a gasket but sounds more like a top-mount.
I still use Cherry clip-ins over most of the modern new stuff (TX rev3, staebies, etc) because I always see people complaining about the new stuff. Cherry clip-ins are cheap and they work!
Just a note - they're Mizu Minks*, not Mizu Inks - it's an ink bottom/milky top combo
could you do a video on the best stabilisers on the market? like durock v3, tx stabs, owlstabs, staebies etc and compare them? have heard alot of great things about all of them and looking to change my usual durock v3 stabs in my next build
also just added noico sound deadener mat into my qk65 and it works GREAT thanks
TXStabs and Keebfront Stabbers currently take the cake for me in my eyes
Hey! Will you be reviewing the Tofu60 and Tofu65 2.0?
Actually love this keyboard, its looks so minimalistic. But it allows for no wrist rest and its an 1800 layout
Theres a 65 version
Wdym doesn’t allow for a palm rest
ahhhh spacebar ping!!!!!!
what was the final config you had on this board?
Alu Half Plate
Mid plate Foam
1 Layer of case foam
Mizu Inks
Sir, could you cover the Thick Thock Marshmallow switch?
Please review the monsgeek m1, thankyouuu very much. :D
Hi, Scott. Keycaps photo on the official site look noticeably more saturated. In the video, the brown is very close to black and the green is very muted. How do colors look in real life? Closer to the video or to the photos on the off site?
17mm front height's even lower than the Bakeneko and tiger at 18mm both respectively, and those are my 2 comfiest boards
My man Scott has been all over 1800s recently
0:24 me too dude
i was boutta comment this i wonder if he even knows
生意好听,键帽好看,视频质量高~~
Does anyone knew any other key cap sets with the same style as the Resonance? I have the same set, but am having trouble finding another set with a similar vibe.
Good Burger is a good movie.
It's a classic@
Ha I just noticed for the first time that the bottom foam cutouts look like cannons
Finalkey v65 r2, review?
Cherry clip ins are still very great! That scratchy feel I believe is starting to become a “feature” rather than a flaw in stabilizers/switches now. It’s funny how what was bad before can become a feature in keyboard sound/design.
Does it feel like true top mount?
Considering this or the wind x r2. Any thoughts?
Bump
The biggest competition for this is the Odin V2. How do they compare?
isnt odin v2 full size?
Have you tried tape modding your spacebar? I have a PBTfans set and putting 3 layers of masking tape on the inside of the spacebar helps with its sound A LOT, makes it a lot lower pitched.
I think honestly, the Wind X/X 98 is much more worth than the Brutal 1800, only thing I'd say the Brutal wins is the in stock aspect of it.
Guys, any recommendations for best budget wireless at 100$ ?
zoom?
400 dollars 😬
It def is not cheap!
That intro made me ugly laugh.
Hahaha glad it was fun!
First :)
Almost!
early
Welcome!
@@Keybored do you like the bakeneko 60
FIRST
Congrats!
No led
Nope, no nothing
gasket mount is overrated.
Wanted to like it but the sound is just dogwater
$200+ keyboards hard pass
needs something for the spacebar sounds hollow other then that I like how it sounds
