  • In episode of 1 of "conceptualizing polyrhythms in your DAW," Tim Smolens gives an overview of how he incorporates polyrhythms in his compositions and gives some useful tips on working with them in your DAW project files. Tim explains rhythms that are often overlooked and their connection to musical harmony via ratios and demonstrates how the average listener and even most musicians can only pull off rhythms based on 3's and 4's. Tim lifts up the hood and exposes a universe of exotic polyrhythms and gives some brief demonstrations on how just how endless the possibilities are.
