So excited you've tried Kiko now! Nobody ever talks about them really but they have been shipping to the US for years now (with free shipping at $15+). Their lipsticks and eyeshadows are amazing (and have magnetic packaging, which is so satisfying!). Their eyeliners, cheek products, and cream products are fantastic as well
Hannah, I am totally feeling your vibe today! Love your look: the hair, makeup (especially the eyebrows), THAT DRESS and the pear-earrings, so so good!
I hate commenting on people's appearance because I'm terrified it's going to somehow harm a sense of self or ruin their day but goddamnit Hannah I love your nose. You have such a high fashion nose. It's really really lovely. Reminds me of tsunaina.
LOL this definitely didn't ruin my day :) I've always been indifferent towards my nose, if not rather disappointed in it. "High-fashion nose" is the best compliment...maybe ever??
That particular shade of the Kiko eyeshadow stick is one of my all-time favorite eye products! Kiko Milano in 46 and the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Rush are my go-to items for getting ready at 4am for my nursing clinicals. They are truly fantastic (especially the Kiko one because it's only $10)!
The rollover part of a budget/low-buy can be so difficult. I am on a “3 items a month” low buy and I allow for rollover if I don’t buy all three. For the first few months I only bought one item a month. But then I had so many items built up that I could buy anything without much consideration, and I slid right back into my old shopping habits. I don’t want to get rid of the rollover rule because I don’t want to buy three things just to buy them, which I’m afraid I’d do, but it is hard when my rules don’t keep me in check. But this is why I feel a perfect system does not exist. And I have to tell myself I’m doing the best I can, and celebrate that. When I think about all of the impulse buys I have NOT made because of my low-buy, I’m pretty proud of myself.
Hannah Louise Poston You’re so right! I forget this all the time. Especially when my rules and routine seem to be working. I forget that they’re there to help me when I’m struggling, not to prevent struggling. This is why I love your channel. How many beauty videos encourage such depth of introspection? You’ve really created something special.
yep, I make tango clothes, not streetwear. Learning to make a pair of linen trousers as nice as the ones I bought would cost WAY more in both time and the materials investment than the price I paid for them. Plus, it's my job, and I don't usually feel like doing more of it. It's like considering why a pastry chef would go out to a sushi restaurant instead of just making her own sushi at home. I hope that makes sense!
I’ll have to check out that linen shop. I’ve been thinking about replacing my old robe with a linen one. What you say about not feeling guilt about buying for fun because you budgeted for it really resonates with me. I’ve had a budget for years and that’s one thing I really love. Treats are no longer tainted with guilt.
wow you're looking like a well traveled elegant woman. I love your new nails too! Hannah you are always inspiring me to deep dive into my habits & thoughts. I love it because I'm very introspective myself. Viewing things from your unique perspective is beneficial & refreshing. I made a budget for myself this month & I intend to tweak it even further.
Beautiful earrings. I pick up most of mine at local design markets because there are so many wonderful Aussie artisans and I like the idea of owning something that's handmade and more unique than mass produced 💕
Hi Hannah :) I am strongly considering implementing a budget for myself similar to yours and I'm considering a no buy on makeup for a 2 or 3 months. My original no buy plan failed, but I do think the 2.5 month no buy was rewarding and beneficial for me. I am no longer a blush, bronzer, shadow fiend but I starting dabbling in to lipsticks and the 30 to 50 dollar makeup purchases every pay period is adding up. P.S: I am rewatching this video and from beginning to end, no ads.
Btw I started Tango clases. And I was like omg I'm turning in to Hannah XD. I love to write, dancing, grungy colors, beauty products, I'm on a low buy, I love long talks and I'm redhead too xD
those earrings are everything. i'm getting wonderful Auntie Mame vibes from your look today and it's grand. always love your introspective approach to your spending. it helps me be more thoughtful about appreciating what i have. i never had a shopping problem but i do catch myself "looking for something to want" even though i don't buy the things i think i want. I was wondering if you would consider doing a video about your writing? i recently graduated college with an english/writing degree and i'm wrestling with a mix of excitement and terror about considering myself a writer and trying to make a career out of writing. i would love to hear any advice or stories about struggles/triumphs that you've experienced. also your poems are stunning. reading them helped me get off my butt and send some of my own work to a magazine, so thanks for that!
yay, congrats on starting to submit work! my advice on that is: it's a numbers game. You have to submit 50 times to get one publication. Don't get discouraged, don't be precious, just keep submitting.
The moment you suddenly thought to look for a different shape of hobo and then when you said you found one you love for $30, I GASPED. I was so happy that still got a beautiful thing you loved and have been waiting so patiently to buy at a deal!!!
Love your look! I have a Kiko eyeshadow stick in that range, but in a dark grey and I think it is amazing - gives Chanel eyeshadow stils a run for their money at a fraction of the price. I layer powder shadows or even blusher over the grey to mix it up.
I was about to go down to the comments section to tell you about linenfox when you started talking about them, they are great 🙏 and buying on their site is a bit cheaper than on etsy's I believe 😊😊 and oh my lord those earrings are amazing 💖
Has anyone ever told you you favor Karen Gillan? I love your videos so much. I find them to be a relaxing treat. I’m a stay at home mom. I’m surrounded by boys. This provides me with much needed girl time!! 😊💖
I used my old Mango wallet to the point of looking quite shabby, and I got such bad luck with the replacement D: The zipper keeps splitting with a normal amount of cards and cash in it... Next time I suppose I'll look for a more quality one but trying to make it with what I have for now.
I really like the design of that wallet/clutch, I can see why you coveted its more expensive sister. I don't know much about actual designer names or brands but I can spot quality craftsmanship when I see/feel it. Just from a usefulness standpoint, I like the wallet--its silhouette, what it can hold & its size. I wouldn't mind owning something similar in design, I don't really like my current wallet as it's very thick & not very pretty. I'm going to check your info box & see what else that Poshmark seller has :) I keep meaning to tell you I got some Pears soap & now do soap brows & love it. I was using different clear brow gel minis or sample sizes I had bought with points or gotten in orders & I like the soap better. I'll never run out that's for sure!
Hannah i love you so much. Please consider the " hair on hide" sources. I say this respectfully. I know you have been looking into ethics of brands. I love your apartment and plants. Would you consider an apartment tour? I want to dupe the vibes n get more houseplants . I love those linen pants. I have a very long torso as well and haven't found good linen pants this summer. I looked for the IGK dirty spray yesterday! Could not find it in ulta. Sad face.
I am so excited to see how those pants turn out!! I love the idea of something made to fit you. As someone whose hip to waist ratio is ALWAYS off in off-the-rack clothing, this intrigues me. Maybe something besides legging-style pants will actually work. LOL

Can't believe that you mentioned Lithuania. Awesome! Linen is a huge part of my culture, hope the trousers will meet your expectations 😊

Yes, Linenfox are based in Lithuania. In Kaunas, the second largest city of the country.
woo hoo, so glad I was as informed as I thought I was :)
Your description of the earrings was so over the top and I absolutely loved it. I could listen to you describe things all day.

the perfect system does not exist! I think any system we choose just helps to keep us more aware and makes it less likely we'll spiral out of control.
but I think it's normal to still struggle even when you're "doing it right"
Hannah Louise Poston You’re so right! I forget this all the time. Especially when my rules and routine seem to be working. I forget that they’re there to help me when I’m struggling, not to prevent struggling.

The dress is stunning! ❤ ⭐ A piece of art
That wallet is wonderful! I’m glad you were able to find it for such a reasonable price.
I'm getting Blade Runner vibes from your makeup, and just your look in general here. Love it.
You look very stunning in this video...those eyes girl living for it
thank you!
Just a curious question - why don't you sew your clothes, e.g. the linen pants, yourselve? Thanks for answer :)
MrSumcicka I’m pretty sure she’s answered that before. If I remember correctly, she said that it’s not exactly her niche.

Hannah Louise Poston Sewing is very labor intensive and costly. I only sew things that I cannot find in stores.
I’ll have to check out that linen shop. I’ve been thinking about replacing my old robe with a linen one.

Kiko has great products, so glad you got to try them out. Their shadow sticks are so so lovely
Great repair job! I always struggle with that as well. Great video, Hannah! Loved seeing everything you bought!
Tarable Decisions hey Tara! 💛

Hi Hannah, I’ve followed your project for awhile and I am very interested to see how things have changed for you as you’ve transitioned to a budget. I feel like we have some behavioral similarities in that giving something up (with hard and fast rules) is easier than moderation. But I know that, for me, that often butts up against reality.
