Mentors like this that make teaching fun and exciting is what makes people WANT to learn and improve. I easily sat down and watched some guy talk about plungers lol. Good video 👍😂
I got a call for a plugged toilet at work a few days ago! Apparently they tried plunging it before I did, but I only gave it one plunge and it cleared. I'm pretty sure most people don't understand how a plunger works.
Your channel is amazing - even for me, a teenager who doesn't have a career in any field. I do have a life path to go into the trades, and i'm stuck between technology/IT and electrician spots. You make the plumbing trade seem welcoming, however i'd rather be wiring servers or outlets instead of messing around in raw sewage. Not exactly my thing! I appreciate your channel, Mr. Wakefield. Keep going! Your content is very educational [not to mention entertaining] even for people who aren't in the trades at all or for people who are in a different trade. Keep being awesome!
Any young tradesmen that have come to my house have been really happy with their choice. I know some days, physical labor can get you down, but so can working in an office, plus, you'll probably be healthier too. Good luck to you!
Thanks for this and the closet auger video. I'm seriously considering investing in a closet auger. My one year old toilets don't give me anywhere near the trouble my 20+ year old toilets did, but I'd much rather be prepared then having to scramble when the toilet(s) need the service of a plunger and an auger. And, I now know why I've always thought those "traditional" plungers didn't work well for toilets. They're meant for sinks. No wonder they're useless in the toilet. And, I'm requesting a 2022 blooper review or a 2022 best bloopers video. Please.
Not a plumber but I’m a hotel engineer so I have to unclog toilets and urinals all the time, I’m gonna get one of those plungers you have for my tool cart because it looks like it works way better than the standard toilet plunger we’re provided. Especially on odd shaped bowls like our Toto brand toilets.
You must be psychic! Every time a plumbing issue happens within a day or so you come up with a solution!!! I've been using the wrong plunger my whole life 🙃!
So, good to use a plunger and/or auger with the "stuff" floating around in the "pool" ? Tried the baking soda/vinegar thing and the "stuff" rejected it. Now I have a brown "stuff" that has been chemically treated, still floating.
One thing I really hate is that the stores sell those sink plungers as toilet plungers. They’re not even flange plungers (which are designed for toilets and usually perfectly fine. However, as they’re a fair bit more rigid, they may have issues sealing against some toilets), so they should be sold as sink and tub plungers. I also hate that accordion plungers, which are sometimes essential due to the sheer amount of force you can get out of them, are almost always entirely plastic (no rubber, poor seal). Also noticed you giving it a couple of slow pumps first. Definitely a good idea, as it clears as much air, which is compressible, as possible, and replaces it with water, which is incompressible.
I am a bit confused as to whether you are supposed to use the plunger to push the plugged object through on down the line or use the plunger to make a suction and draw the plugged object back into the bowl. I've seen it done both ways. Great video!
Thumbs up for the "infomercial" beginning, but I almost took it away because of the plunger PDA. It wasn't until the 1980s or 90s when I first started seeing toilet plungers. Before that, you just got a bigger plunger for the toilet. If you are a new parent, call it a potty, not a toilet. Where do you put toys? The TOY-LET.
Roger you half assed that plunger workout. The cheap old one works better than the others you demo'd. I us an aguer on the job but the dollar plunger at the house. It's too much of a pain charging the customer if we clear it with a plunger so 6ft augers are all we keep on the truck.
That's Smart business sense . Way to many folk out there who don't understand time is money and every business has overhead . Lol I'm picturing in my head the amount of Karen's that have been Triggered by a Plunger 🪠😂
My experience is “don’t use a fucken plunger”. You’re a professional use a closet auger. The customer doesn’t have an auger but the customer has a plunger. Why call you?

Do you carry one on your truck?
@@RogerWakefield I’m not finding link you mentioned@6:48 …
The plunger he is using and recommends is the Korky Beehive Plunger - it is actually a really good plunger. FYI for anyone curious.
I just bought one and it did what the pretty Polder from Target couldn't!
Thanks both of you! :)
Thank you. My plunger is as hard as a rock. I’m keen to buy this.

I'm completely clueless when it comes to plungers thank you for this!
Absolutely!!😆

Helpful and hilarious🤣 Please keep adding bloopers and the end!!
I might just have to😏 Thank you!

👍 Glad my psychic powers are being put to good use. Thanks for watching, Angie!
I didn't even know there was a difference! awesome video!
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching, Alex!😎
I had an interview for plumber and apprentice and tomorrow I am riding in the van for the first time
I was cracking up learning about the birds and the bees of plumbing. LOL!
1:00 Will a hard plastic bellows plunger work the same as the soft one he is using?
Thanks Roger you are a genius.
Thanks for watching, Jacob!😎
@@RogerWakefield I really enjoyed the video and I laughed at the end when you said” look how soft and sweet that looks”
At the end of the video when it said Jan 01 1970 that's awesome 👍😎 cool videos keep coming
The Korky Beehive loves you too, Roger! 😂😂
The hulk hogan of plumbing 😄
Thank you for sharing this with me.
My pleasure, Eileen!
So you saying…
Soft is better 😊
I knew that! Lol 😝
I use my wife’s
Moisturizer to keep my tools fresh and soft after every use.
Great for butt hurt cream.
I try not to get butt hurt…
I'm curious when the flange plunger was invented or became popular. Because 50 years ago, I'd never seen or heard of one.
This is the greatest video ever and I hope it gets randomly recommended to more people like it did to me
So glad you liked it Turtler
the bloopers at the end🤣🤣🤣
😂
4:10 What's an "angle stop"?
What kind of plunger is it? What is it called ? Store People are looking at me like I’m crazy
Didn't think I'd be on a plumber's UA-cam channel, but here we are today.
Well I appreciate you being here
This new editing is amazing lol
When Hulk Hogan tells me the right way to use a plunger, I listen.
am i the only one who thinks thats not hulk hogan?
Hi Roger, enjoyed your video....thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
Roger getting all erotic on plungers…we all love plunging 😂

plunger and an auge have always worked for me...might take some fighting but they will ge tthe job done
@@RogerWakefield thanks. I'll give it a whirl, hopefully.
This guy is a legend

Both! As long as the clog is cleared you've done good

How about those of us with rear eject toilets? I've found dealing with those is much harder than with a standard toilet.
I use a sewer rod to unblock toilets . Works every time and it gives me some distance from the toilet so I don't get splashed on .
Smart idea! Avoiding the little brown munchkins
Hilarious, I love it
Appreciate it, Aden! Thanks for watching😀
You would think it is just that easy!
love bloopers
where's the link for the plunger tho?
Should I use any kind of oil on my plunger to keep it in good condition? I soak mine in bleach to disinfect it.
Me before video: I know how to use a plunger
Me after video: I didn’t know how to use a plunger
The toilets into music 😭😭
The two plungers shown in the thumbnail are both inadequate. You need the right-side plunger that has the added open-ended oval extension.
They both have their place depending on the clog
No mention of the bellows plunger? :/
Hey Roger …. Sent you a msg in Volley …. I need a snake instead of a plunger 😂 …. UJS
I am ashamed to admit that I know some who plunged almost an entire roll down.
I have that plunger on my service van....
Do you use it often?
Heh, look how soft it is, you could play with it, I can remake that with my printer and give you it as a stress toy 😂
👍
🤘
Unclog a tub!!! That be the hard one!!!
I know
Don't leave that trailer toilet out in the open. I may try it out.

Yes indeed…
Wow! Hey Roger, big fan! I’m a plumber and enjoy your videos, Great job 👏🏽 😃
