Man, I don't care who says what, this intro had me hooked from the first time I heard it, and this one of the shows I've ever seen where I like both both dubs and subs! Long live the crew of the soyokaze!
I love the symbolism of them following him along the tight rope at the end. It helps get across the point of "yes, he's the leader, but we keep him steady and grounded".
Back in the mid-90;s a was at an anime convention where they were doing an AMV contest, and one of the entries was drawn from this show, but set to Crystal Gayle's Do You Believe In Magic? ("Mad is the Captain of Alpha Centauri; We must be out of our minds...") - what sold the AMV was the line in the song "poets and dreamers and clowns" which was matched to Lt. Cdr. Yamamoto, Yuriko Star, and the pilots and marines respectively.
We may off the maps But stay on course I will be holding Never let you go whatever we want we'll take as we need so lets go wherever we please make me your only partner on this journey one that you trust more than words come on now and set sail for the journey things are waiting that weve never seen before just take your cares and throw them all away come together just think of tomorrow!
Man, I wish they made a full version of this. The OST only has the Japanese and English-sung-by-Japanese version. The English dubbed versions were wonderful in their own right too.
Actually, the English version of "Just Think of Tomorrow" is amazingly faithful to the original considering if you compare the opening of Ninja Senshi Tobikage "Love Survivor", to its dubbed version on a little show called Ninja Robots! It MUST be the undisputed kimg of badly adapted anime theme songs! ^;
just discovered this gem.... Best Anime Eve r!!! Heard a rumour they were doing a live action movie to finish the O.V.A Story Arc , anyone know if this is still on the cards cos that would be Awesome. it's shows like this that make me want to learn japanese.
it really sucks i cant find the whole 3 minute long version completely in english like it doesnt exist, if someone else can find it, please send me a reply
@De0n0rth you dont have to lern japineas becas this one and so many other animes are starting to be dubbed ever since the start of 2011 even some showes i thought i would never see before

It's just the best isn't it

Crispin Freeman's voice cameo at the end. "LETS GO!"
It might be an underrated show, but Irresponsible Captain Tylor will always be a 90's defining anime series.

It helps that the singer is the same for both versions.
@@H.J.Fleischmann Japanese and English? I wouldn't be able to tell unless somebody told me!
@@H.J.Fleischmann no you mixed it up with Tenchi Universe
Mari gas her own version but it’s pretty Engrish
@@tetsuyatsurugi9250, ah! Fair. Thank you for the correction.
An excellent anime period
Also, love how they have the woman dancing in front of the space combat, to show that, in this show, the combat hardly matters.
I'd follow Captain Tylor anywhere!
This video is pretty much from original UA-cam
They played it this year too in LA. It was worth the $40 ticket just to see s5 of the eps.
just discovered this gem....
Best Anime Eve r!!!

it's shows like this that make me want to learn japanese.
Here it is: the first dub Crispin Freeman worked on!
... Man, it doesn't sound like him!
That is factually untrue. If I recall it was either Slayers or potentially something more obscure but Slayers is the earliest in his career
Oh my god, I have this on VHS somewhere. Crap. Nostalgia.
@contessakitty Its also because of that. I watch anime in both english and japanese just to keep an open mind.
I smell vash...
...Taylor is about as smart as Vash from trigun...I can tell
no, he's probally dumber than Milly seems
my bro had this on VHS classic
Set Sail for the Future!
one of the best opening I've heard
The silver lining is that Japanese kept the original melody
awesome song!
it really sucks i cant find the whole 3 minute long version completely in english
like it doesnt exist, if someone else can find it, please send me a reply
Good news, the series is getting re-released on may 26 in a thin pack collection.
Shit ten years later and i hear about it now....
uno de los mejores opening que he oido
Lo rescatable es que mantuvieron la melodía original japonesa
LETS GO
Is there a full version of the English cover?
Primus Productions Sadly no, it'd be amazing if there was though. I love this anime! :D
That OP was 90s AF
This dubs getting a bluray in 2018!!! wait... it's already 2019...
横山だいすけ・三谷たくみ(NHKおかあさんといっしょ) とけいのうた
Found the full English version
Who sang this?
Shoutsie McBellows
You know this song is fucking catchy and amazing. but the ending is ended too abruptly.
...Why isn't there a full English version with this version of the lyrics and this artist? The "full English version" doesn't sound like this...
*X-files theme plays*
You, er, probably wouldn't happen to know where I could watch this in English would you?
^__^
Kiss anime. 10 years too late

Well you could of just watched subbed you don't have to learn Japanese to watch Japanese anime
Who sings this
did they say take all your pants and throw them all away? or Take all your cares and throw them all away?
I do love this show and have a certain affinity for the intro despite the fact I always felt her singing was really bad.
Her singing isn't bad at all, it's just not your thing.
No it's just bad. @@gringodile
I saw this long ago in an anime con. The English dub opening sucks but that's probably because I saw all the eps in Japanese.
english dub uuuuuuuuuuggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
