+Larry Fletcher Pat and John indeed are the best ever. I liked Dick Enberg's play by play call. I was a little young to remember Merlin Olsen, but I watched Enberg work with Bob Trumpy at NBC, and they were pretty good. Good contrasts in voices.
Omg this left me with chills. Montana launches the ball up..... ten years of history flash in a montage... then comes Dwight Clarks vintage catch. Some say it was only a catch.. But pro football hasn't been the same since. The Cowboys beating the 11-0 Redskins in 1991 was a huge step forward in their rebuilding, but this game was about to be epic. Football was just so exciting back then, I miss teams that can run the ball effectively, I miss Pat Summerall
Russell Seilhamer I remember that game in 1991. I remember the next day the vice principal at my elementary school announced it over the p.a. System and we all cheered. Go Cowboys!!
My boys went out there and took 'em out. That was payback for Dwight Clark. RIP Pat. Always loved these iconic openings. Greatest football broadcaster ever. This was the game that launched a Cowboys dynasty.
Goosebumps! The start of the Cowboys' dynasty of the 90's! I love how Dallas' logo is the first one you see and SF's logo is the last one you see in the graphics. Two of the best dynasties of all time. These games were both the real SB and Pro Bowl all in one!
@@thfzn The Bills also beat the Cowboys in Dallas during the regular season in 93... means nothing. The NFC was king during this stretch and the AFC weren't going to touch them in the SB.
Watching that almost brings a tear to my eye. I was a kid when this was televised. I remember hating San Fran. When we won that game it was the greatest thing that had ever happened to me. I’ll always have those memories of that season when Dallas finally made it back. What a game that was, what an intro that was and what a broadcast team that was. Everything about that day was perfect.
Is it me or were the games so much more epic in those days?As a Dallas fan, this by far, is my favorite game as it was the beginning of their 90's reign.
Man, that was good times, great memories. I remember I would watch these sunday games with my dad and that was the best feeling in the world. Nice relaxing Sunday afternoon. Man. what i would do to get those days back with him and my mom again. I miss them so much!
"Soaring out of the darkness and in to the spotlight are the new stars of America's Team." As great as this intro was, Summerall himself couldn't have even known how true that would be.
I hope that will be true for our new stars of today like Dak and Zeke! I miss John and Pat's commentary so much, the only commentary team that wasn't bias in hating the Cowboys. Most of the commentary today sucks. I only like Troy and Moose, LOL! I also miss the old NFL on CBS theme song, great memories...
Hell of a game. This brought a lot of comfort to Cowboys fans, who still had a bad taste leftover from the '81 game. It also ignited a very heated rivalry between the two best teams in football.
1:39: National Football Conference: NFC East: Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Phoenix Cardinals, New York Giants and Washington Redskins. NFC Central: Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. NFC West: Atlanta Falcons, Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers.
Favorite Cowboy game of all time.....was 19 years old and cried my eyes out as a 7 year old when Dwight Clark made the catch. This game made all the years of suffering worth it.
Ah yes....my favorite game as a Cowboy fan. This was payback for "The Catch", only this time, the Cowboy receiver did not get caught from behind to end a crucial scoring drive (Aikman to harper for 70 yards). Truly a classic!!!!
RIP Pat, you were one of a kind. I got the privilege of building Pat's golf clubs a couple years ago and one of the things he told me was that Tom Landry was a dirty player and he remembered him kicking a player who was just tackled and out of bounds.
Man I remember watching this as a kid. I still have this on VHS somewhere. These intros were epic. Back when the NFC championship was the real SB even tho my team wasn't in it. You have to admit these were great teams and games.
i agree Kim Martin there will never be a team like this on commentating and hello everyone from Texas stadium pat summerall john madden CLASSIC THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES GUYS😎👍
If the Cowboys are ever going to win another Super Bowl they are gonna have to get a top 5 defense again. This 92 Cowboys squad had the most viscous underrated number 1 defense in all of football. Without Doomsday D there are no Lombards for Big D.
I Get Chills hearing Pat Summerall and John Madden man there will never be a Tandem like that ever again. And I'am glad to have had the pleasure of hearing these two time and time again.... If you love football like me you almost come to tears hearing that intro.
this was my chilhood... those old CBS intros with Pat Summeral really take me back... at age 6 i absolutely hated nothing in the world more than the 49ers... i learned it from my dad who was haunted by "the catch"... i still consider the 49ers a HUGE rival
Pat Summerall, John Madden, live from soldier field, or from the meadowlands, or from wherever, just the sound of it used to make me so happy with anticipation about the games. Time marches on RIP Pat.....and thank you.
I have this game on tape with this intro...this is the bomb..whoever put this up...for real...Kudos!! It foretold and reflected and was the best CBS introduction ever!!
@governorcooder Man you are so right listening to Pat Summerall voice in these intro's gives me goose bumps... It will never be the same... You said it right epic..
The AFC and NFC Championships the past few years just haven't had the same "feel" as these clashes, apart from the Pats/Colts games. Bring back this music!
Hi, I'm Pat Summerall along with John Madden.
And with that, you knew you had a real game on your hands.
Love the old CBS theme. Gives me chills.
I got a couple of old CBS NFL Themes that I'm going to post here in a week
Football at its finest! So glad I there to witness it.
Summerall and Madden enough said end of story
Two greats deeply missed...Pat and John
Pat and John still the best ever. #Goosebumps
I'm 40
Mine too. They were great. Good old days. 😊
They really are LMAO
+Larry Fletcher Pat and John indeed are the best ever. I liked Dick Enberg's play by play call. I was a little young to remember Merlin Olsen, but I watched Enberg work with Bob Trumpy at NBC, and they were pretty good. Good contrasts in voices.
No offense to John...but you could pair anyone with Pat and the same would be true. He was simply the best.
NBC had the Best Intros for the NBA and CBS had the Best Intros for the NFL👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

Hard to believe Montana was on that field
why dont you talk about what happened after the catch when eric wright horse collard drew pearson!
Dallas was robbed after the catch! Drew pearson was horse collard!!!!!
@@robertosso5210 Wasn't illegal in 1981 man.

Only Pat can make a coin toss so epic... :3
Make no mistake, this game was the real Super Bowl.
I think everyone knew that at the time. Just like the 2014 NFC Championship game was the real super bowl.
+StylistecS The NFC Championship Game from 1981 to 1996 was the real Super Bowl. The AFC stood no chance.
Yeah the Broncos got steamrolled by the Seahawks.
The Bills beat the 49ers in San Fran that year.
@@thfzn The Bills also beat the Cowboys in Dallas during the regular season in 93... means nothing. The NFC was king during this stretch and the AFC weren't going to touch them in the SB.
What a great intro....after watching this you knew that something epic was about to take place.
Pat Summerall with John Madden that was the days!
AWESOME! Football in the 90's was unbelievable. The intros were the best and the rivalries were at their peak. WOW! Wish we could get this back!
Watching that almost brings a tear to my eye. I was a kid when this was televised. I remember hating San Fran. When we won that game it was the greatest thing that had ever happened to me. Perhaps the best intro of any football game played between these two iconic teams.🏈
R.I.P Pat Summerall.
"It's Deja Vu all over again!" - Brilliant line by Pat Summerall
Man, I wish they still had game intros like that... goosebumps.. it would be perfect for next week's Ice Bowl II
Man, that was good times, great memories. I remember I would watch these sunday games with my dad and that was the best feeling in the world. Nice relaxing Sunday afternoon. Man. what i would do to get those days back with him and my mom again. I miss them so much!
May they forever RIP

As great as this intro was, Summerall himself couldn't have even known how true that would be.
i was gonna comment on that quote myself you beat me to it......gave me chills when he said it
Manu Ginobilis Bald Spot dude I miss pat summerall.

“With a nod to the past and a look to the future”
Thise were great games! Look at their rosters...amazing to see all that talent on the field at one time.
This was the real Super Bowl back then!
SB 13 which the Cowboys should have won by 2 TDs had the most talent ever on 1 football field
It's like Summerall knew Dallas was going to win just by his tone and his "the look to the future" line
The golden voice of Pat Summerall
Hell of a game. This brought a lot of comfort to Cowboys fans, who still had a bad taste leftover from the '81 game. It also ignited a very heated rivalry between the two best teams in football.
33 years later....I'm still bitter over the '81 game :)................but this game did help alleviate the pain from that game some
Dallas and SF played the real super bowl 3 years in a row
1:39: National Football Conference: NFC East: Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Phoenix Cardinals, New York Giants and Washington Redskins. NFC Central: Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. NFC West: Atlanta Falcons, Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers.
Allen Greene it's the Arizona Cardinals now and they in the NFC West
Cherilyn Hannen Yeah I know that. Nothing Personal.
Favorite Cowboy game of all time.....was 19 years old and cried my eyes out as a 7 year old when Dwight Clark made the catch. This game made all the years of suffering worth it.
Same!!!
Same here . I was 9 when Clark made that catch . Couldn’t stop crying
Ah yes....my favorite game as a Cowboy fan. This was payback for "The Catch", only this time, the Cowboy receiver did not get caught from behind to end a crucial scoring drive (Aikman to harper for 70 yards). Truly a classic!!!!

The best football game I've ever seen and the Icing on the Cake was having Madden and Summerall calling the game.
RIP Pat Summerall. I'll never forget that voice and how great he was with John Madden. Truly a legend of broadcasting!
I'm here in 2021 commentating on this video tells you all you need to know about Pat S greatness. Give me chills listening to this intro.
No one will ever be better than Madden and Summerall
Man I remember watching this as a kid. I still have this on VHS somewhere. These intros were epic. Back when the NFC championship was the real SB even tho my team wasn't in it. You have to admit these were great teams and games.
I loved Kennith Gant doing the shark dance before kickoff. He set the tone
Goosebumps
Exactly what I was thinking! To think both there last games were super bowl classics in super bowl 36 and super bowl 43.
most definitely, damn I miss football with him and John Madden made the game that more special
49ers-Cowboys on CBS in the playoffs next week! Just like the good old days! Too bad we won't hear Pat and John or the classic theme.
CBS should bring back the classic theme just for this Sunday's game.
Best CBS intro ever! I 100% agree!
As a 49ers fan I loved him calling the Cowboys and 49ers
Number 29 Kenny Gant is my Elder at my church and is like a father to me. He is an awesome man!!!!#
i agree Kim Martin there will never be a team like this on commentating and hello everyone from Texas stadium pat summerall john madden CLASSIC THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES GUYS😎👍
Hearing Pat Summerall's voice gives me the chills. It's a sad sad day. He will be greatly missed.
The game that started a dynasty
Yep.. Gets me hyped everytime i listen. Old school football. #TeamCowboys
" With a nod to the past, and a look to the future." Well stated.
Madden and Summerall. The best ever. Those old NFC games with 49ers, Cowboys and Giants were fantastic.
These old intros with Summerall.....NOTHING comes close nowadays. I used to get goosebumps as a teen when these came on before the game.
Greatest dynasty team Ever The 70s Pittsburgh Steelers, 80s San Francisco 49ers and Early 90s Dallas Cowboys
Gives me chills everytime I watch it....
Nobody can ever do it like Summerall & Madden. This was football.
RIP gods play by play duo Pat Summerall and John Madden
This was one of the best days of my life..
yes that 1992 49ers team was really damm good as well. That was a really strong conference that year the Saints and Eagles were good teams as well.
If the Cowboys are ever going to win another Super Bowl they are gonna have to get a top 5 defense again. This 92 Cowboys squad had the most viscous underrated number 1 defense in all of football. Without Doomsday D there are no Lombards for Big D.
Ah Memories! GO COWBOYS!!
Wow brought tears to my eyes. RIP Mr Summerall . You brought me so many wonderful memories.
I built his new set of golf clubs a few days ago and he picked them up yesterday. 80 years old and still teeing it up! I love Pat Summerall!
I miss this CBS music.
Now Madden and Summerall are back together RIP
I Get Chills hearing Pat Summerall and John Madden man there will never be a Tandem like that ever again. And I'am glad to have had the pleasure of hearing these two time and time again.... If you love football like me you almost come to tears hearing that intro.
Cried for an hour after this game. And LOL at "bad field conditions in San Francisco, some things never change.
The dynamic duo (Summerall and Madden are the best ever when calling a game..)
this was my chilhood... those old CBS intros with Pat Summeral really take me back... at age 6 i absolutely hated nothing in the world more than the 49ers... i learned it from my dad who was haunted by "the catch"... i still consider the 49ers a HUGE rival

1992....good times
Yeah man i miss those days
Man, games just don't have this epic feel anymore.
Miss pat summerall more and more when I hear his voice
@governorcooder Man you are so right listening to Pat Summerall voice in these intro's gives me goose bumps... It will never be the same... You said it right epic..
2001 aired nfl's greatest games changing of the guard. Anybody wonder why the narration and interviews were so light?
Best damned rivalry in Pro Football. Excellence at its finest.
This erased some bad memories for me #Cowboysfan#
"Soaring out of the darkness and into the spotlight"
-Pat Summerall
That's some deep shit..
rip pat summerall, he was one of my favorite sports announcers and he did alot of the dallas cowboys games, once a cowboy always a cowboy
RIP Pat, staple in sports history
this was the greatest time for the NFL for me, about 91-95, I loved it.
Great scene when Sumerall prophetically says "with a nod to the past and a look to the future" and the video goes from Montana to Smith.
Yes it was, and that's why the NFC Championship games were just epic back in the day!
Hey Blaine, thank you very much!!! I've been looking for the name of this song for quite a while.
I have this game on tape.
Thanks for posting the intro.
George Vreeland Hill
Boy The Memories
This clip gave me chills and choked me up.
Use to love these playoff intros
The AFC and NFC Championships the past few years just haven't had the same "feel" as these clashes, apart from the Pats/Colts games. Bring back this music!
I remember this game.
Thanks for the memories.

Greatest day of my life in 40 years as a Cowboys fan
Ah, the good old days. Quality broadcasting, and quality rivalries!
- a Cowboys fan
RIP Pat Summerall. 1 of the best.
RIP John Madden & Pat Summerall
Thanks dude!!
wow, the old skool theme song along with the flying logos was awesome!
Great video...the day that the Cowboy dynasty of the 90's was officially launched. what a great game.
This is easily the best NFC Championship intro ever. -The NFL just wasn't fucking big enough for these two teams, seriously! -So much talent!
Pat Summerall is the king!
Ah the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers. The hottest NFL rivalry of the 1990's in my opinion.
