Lowest point of my life in the 92 season, I was in the Dallas county jail we were all quiet when 49ers marched down the field to score and get within 4 points, when Aikman threw it to Harper it was so loud in their it sounded like a riot had started.
Have you ever watched the America’s game about the 92 Cowboys? I think the most interesting part about that whole play is the way that Michael Irwin described it saying that he and Harper switched spots and then Troy Aikman says that them switching they got the right coverage to hit that play. I wonder how different that looks if Irvin goes where he’s supposed to go on that side to run the slant

If I remember correctly the Dallas media wasn't all that bullish about the Cowboys chances. SF was seen as more established, Candlestick's field was trash etc. SF had the personnel to win in '92, just as much as Dallas had the right players to win in '94.
The 49ers just couldn't stop the Cowboys on third down except for the final drive before they scored to make it 24 to 20. The Cowboys made the plays and the 49ers didn't especially turning the ball over in this game.
I liked those. 1996 is when the design went off the rails in my opinion. Particularly the away jerseys. The traditional white jersey with plain red numbers, letters and stripes and gold pants is so classic.
Aikman threw some darts. Young had a real good pump fake. Waters played like he was pissed off.. luv the way he ran and one of the best spin moves ever

Montana would have played similar to his losing effort two years prior against the Giants as their defense was similar to Dallas. You could see Young running for his life, extending plays. As well as hitting receivers right on the mark, sustaining drives. His first INT was horrible but it ended up not resulting in points. The second INT was forced as they had no choice but to throw the ball. I thought this was one of Young's best games, all things considered.
Montana should have played….imagine having Montana passing…..Young running….a bit of of imagination = a win!! Having Montana healthy on the bench was a disgrace.

If you look objectively at the talent on both teams, you would hardly call this game an upset. Dallas came into the 49ers back yard and kicked their butts. End of story.
The 49ers should have led 20-0 at the half. Two turnovers led to 10 Dallas points and they lost 10 more points because of the holding penalty on the Rice TD and a missed FG by Cofer.
